Escalante Vs Lock

Escalante Vs Lock

I agree with you guys. I can't believe that fight went the distance. The first 5 rounds I was saying to myself, "Why didn't I bet the under?", but I'm obiviously glad I didn't. Escalante showed a good body attack in the first 5 rounds and then wasn't consitiently attacking the body in the last 5 rounds. Cornelius Lock was game but never really in the fight after the first 2 rounds. Good fight and congrats to those who bets the home town favorite.

Well, we got a NWS ? 10 on the Seldon Oquendo fight at boxrec.

The 10 just refers to the Total rounds for the fight
not sure what NWS means
I hope the doctor stopped this thing
please UNDER UNDER UNDER

I dont know what NWS is either however Seldon was down in the 7th, 8th and 9th. Some guy at boxrec said it was a 9th rd stoppage but boxrec is listing rd 10. Its possible it was stopped btw rds.:00x11 :00x11 :00x11

I must be on drugs. The fight was stopped in rd 9. The 10 I saw @ boxrec was the listed rds. Good Luck Under backers!!! I would guess the ref or corner stopped it immed after the 3rd kd so hopefully it was pre 1:30 of the rd.

OK boxrec now officially has it listed as a TKO 9
no time yet though
if he was down that many times, hopefully the ref or doc called it early in the 9th

This is what NWS stands for..

This is what NWS stands for..

""Unheard of these days, but common during the early 20th Century in North America, a "newspaper decision" might be made after a no decision bout had ended. A "no decision" bout occurred when--by law or by pre-arrangement of the fighters--if both boxers were still standing at the fight's conclusion and there was no knockout, no official decision was rendered and neither boxer was declared the winner. But this did not prevent the pool of ringside newspaper reporters from declaring a consensus result among themselves and printing a newspaper decision in their publications. Officially, however, a "no decision" bout resulted in neither boxer winning or losing.

Note: BoxRec.com Editors and other boxing historians sometimes use these unofficial newspaper decisions in compiling fight records for illustrative purposes only. These usually are designated as "ND-W" for a win, "ND-L" for a loss, and "ND-D" for a draw. BoxRec uses NWS-W, NWS-L, and NWS-D. ""

But Oquendo KOed Seldon in 9, so boxrec has it wrong at first.

Heavyweight Fres ?The Big O? Oquendo (31-5, 19 KOs) impressively picked apart former world champ Bruce ?The Atlantic City Express? Seldon (40-8, 36
KOs) Friday night at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago. Oquendo outboxed Seldon throughout and despite coming in seemingly great shape Seldon?s aggression
was no match for the slick and very talented Oquendo. Picking his spots and putting good combinations together, Oquendo had Seldon in serious problems in the seventh, but he was saved by the bell. Seldon then took a knee in the eight after absorbing punishment, and again in the ninth when he allowed for Referee Pete Podgorski to reach the count of ten. The time was 2:35.

I havent seen the fight but who the fuck lets a 42 yr old washed up heavywt get beaten up and knocked down three times over the course of 9 rds? Not to mention Seldon had been kod several times before this one. From the description, it appears as if Oquendo dominated the action. I didn't wager the over/under but it really pisses me off that the powers that be allow this bullshit to happen. Apparently somebody forgot to remind the commission, the corner and the ref about Greg Page. Even if Seldon could miraculously pull a ko out of his ass, it still isn't worth the punishment he had to endure. He was saved by the bell in the 7th rd. That alone should have been enough for the ref and/or corner to protect the 42 yr old Seldon from further punishment.

I didn't see the fight but I swear sometimes these refrees know the over under rounds becasue sometimes a guy could be taking a beating and they don't get concerned enough to stop the fight until the over hits and all of a sudden they stop the fight. But maybe that is just me and my under bet taking. :)

second half of that parlay should be cash money with hyland

:toast:
Should be money but I am hedging anyway. I don't know how many times I thought I had a parlay in the bag and then the huge favourite loses!!!
