Cesar Seda (-275) - large
I caught the early line on this one, and would not touch it at current price. Seda seems like the real goods, a couple levels above M.Sonsona who beat Lopez last time out. I think this will be a tough fight though, and don't think Seda will have it all his own way. Lopez a tough gritty veteran and will not go quietly. In the end though, I think the youth and skill level tell.
Giovanni Segura (+240) - medium well Also got generous early odds here, and went sizable on it. Knowledgeable fans are hip to the plot here. When will Calderon lose? Is he slowing down? I think yes, and he is fighting a destroyer who is in his prime. Obviously the Segura of the first Canchila fight would be outclassed in embarrassing fashion against Ivan, but I think this fight did him a lot of good. He has looked devastating since, and I think has shown considerable boxing improvement. Segura looks so much bigger and stronger than Ivan, and I think it's his time.... Segura by overpowering KO!
Henry Lundy (-115) - small
I know I know, but Lundy's antics last time out won me fairly big. Up until his meltdown he was actually looking very classy, much better than I thought he was. I don't like him coming in on short notice, or so quick after a KO loss, but I think he is just flat out better than Lowther, who has been matched very soft. Lowther on 'home ground', but I still think Lundy has the goods to soundly outpoint him.
Matthysse-Castaneda Jr. OVER 5.5 (-125) - very small
Castaneda is a tough vet, and prone to going rounds. I don't like that the fight is in Argentina, but 5.5 isn't that deep. I think the fight goes at least this long. Plus I think Matthysse, although tenacious, is crude and overrated. I would not be surprised at all to see Castaneda give him a tough go of it in general.
Good luck fellas!
