Lundy-Lowther bout on ESPN Saturday

Lundy-Lowther bout on ESPN Saturday

Fight in Canada (Lowther's promotion)
Lundy on 3 days notice
Lundy coming off bad KO loss

only one problem
Omri Lowther SUCKS ASS

I really think Lundy is a WAY better fighter
He's a knucklehead, but he has some talent
I think that will be more than enough here to beat a guy who lost to Chuy Rodriguez
I actually think Lundy is going to smoke him

but what do I know
I thought Adamek would slaughter Grant

Come on Quanah, I really think odds on Couture are unbelievable good.
It seems to me everybody speculate on Randy fighting a stupid fight or Toney catching him when he shoots. I think odds of that happening are much closer to 15:1 than 5:1.

You're probably right Dirty, we'll see??? I've just gotta stick to my boxing guns here. I've long thought that a guy's ability to stand and fight accounts for a lot, even in an MMA ring. In order to take him down, Couture is gonna have to come to him. Even if it goes down like everyone speculates, I'll consider my wager worth it. It's just hard for me to admit that boxing is that much of an inferior fighting technique to MMA.

And you shouldn't admit it because it's not.
Boxing is a segment of MMA. A segment everybody enjoys most.
Like lot of people said this week, if this is a boxing match Toney would be much bigger fav than Randy is now.

Im a fan of both sports and never understood the bickering some do comparing the two but the one thing boxing surely needs that the UFC has is a guy running the show like Dana White. Im not a big fan of his either but ya can tell he is a huge fight fan and wants to see the best fights out there and has the power to deliver them. Boxing will never have this and it is what is killing the sport. To much corruption and power in the hands of these promoters. When Tyson was around u knew he would fight just about anyone. Boxing misses this badly in my opinion. Now with the UFC if u are the champion u are basically forced to fight the best guy in ur weight class. Just my opinion. I also agree if any of these mma fighters crossed over to boxing the odds would be rediculously high compared to what Coulture is giving Toney.

Totally agree.
If boxing had a roof organization that forces best possible and most meaningful fights, we would have a healthy sport.
I am also big fan of both sports and have no idea how can you like one and at the same time dislike the other. Debate is probably fueled by people who have knowledge only in one sport.

Anybody have footage of Lundy's opponent? Reading some varying takes on the fight. I think Lundy has some serious flaws that will be exposed by anybody with good basics. He moves straight back, leaves his hands down and doesn't have a good chin. A good fighter can get away with that...I don't think Lundy is good. Even though he was winning nearly every rd v Molina, I was screaming at Molina to throw a fvcking jab. As Graham said, Lundy isn't nearly as good as he think he's is. Lighter version of Kevin Johnson IMO. He's an ass clown just waiting to get smashed. That being said I don't know how good or bad his opponent is. Lundy will beat most c level guys but he's far from world class.

Thx for the fight footage Ghost :0074

My slight lean would be on Omri. What I don't like is that he isn't quite agressive enough. He had both guys seriously hurt but didn't jump on them. I think an agressive busy fighter will get to Lundy. The promotion helps omri and I think IF he can just step up his game a notch, he'll win...just my .02. Not a bad matchup here...for espn.

Keep in mind that footage of Lowther is against a guy 4-14 and against a guy 5-11.

Just looking for a nice parlay stuffer :)

Just looking for a nice parlay stuffer :)

Hey, boxing fans.

FINALLY, I just might have something I can post in here without looking too ignorant about this sport (even though you guys probably alrieady know about what I'm posing  )

I was watching a tennis match the other night on ESPN (1 or 2??) and left the tv on after the match and that "science of sports" thingy they show once in while came on. You know, they use sophisticated laboratory stuff to meaure precisely how far some pros can throw a ball, run, HIT :box2: .. stuff like that.

Just turned out that they featured James Toney and when they said he's gonna give MMA a troy.. I almost fell outa my chair... I thought, WTF

I said to my bro in law, who was watching it with me.. "you mean the same James Toney that shocked the boxing world (and ME) when he scored a TKO over, "Second to None", Michael Nunn back in the very early 90s. HUH? Yeah, I was a boxing fan then and for a good period of time before then too.. rarely missed a fight.

Then they showed Toney and I DID fall off the chair (LOL, only kidding). Dang, the boxing BULL I used to know has turned into a black man's version of "The Michelin Man". :scared

To get to the point, they measured the force of his punch vs. the force of Corture's punch (they already got his nos. from a previous show)....

Toney: 1400 psi (lbs/sq. inch)
Corture: 1082 psi

They also measured a lot of other stuff between them and Corture scored much better on every test. One point they mentioned that IMO is pretty dang important is the - How can Toney, whose accustomed to a sport that has MUCH stricter rules, measure up (esp. considering the added blubber) to MMA's FIVE minute rounds vs. boxing's 3 min. rounds?

I guess the question is,"IF Toney can land one of them thar 1400 pouders early in the fight, how can Corture's chin hold up? I leave that one up to you guys. Just for reference..

Here's a "little" something to use for reference (Sorry Jack, I'll scale down the image next time I post a pic, but Toney IS HUGE) ...

Good luck this weekend what ever you play.

This one apparently was about as quiet as the Pov fight a few weeks back. Why aren't any sites even giving a result, much less details? I know seda won by dec. ANYBODY have any details on what went down in PR last night? THX.

The wager hasn't even been graded yet.
