Ghost, I'll be there and this is the main reason I'm excited to go. The Spinks and Alexander fights are both "decent" on paper, but this one should be a fucking barnburner.

Talks of Pirog v Martinez in Oct. He had the kind of fight where fighters won't be breaking down his door to get to him. Going to take a good fighter to beat him. I'd call Pirog/Martinez a pic em. Pirog looked like the GOODS, but then again my play was based on Jacobs looking a little shaky v Ishe and Walker. I was impressed though. A few months back he was scheduled to fight Macklin and I was loading up on + odds on Pirog. Macklin would have gotten smoked.

I was PISSED when they cancelled that Macklin fight.

Macklin simply backed out. Somebody in his camp apparently got wise. Pirog should have some options but again, I don't think anybody will be in a hurry to fight him...Paul Williams doesn't back down from a challenge and that's one I'd LOVE to see. Wouldn't surprise me if Pirog will be forced to move up to get fights.

Golovkin-Nu?ez to Panama

Looks like the fight for the vacant WBA interim middleweight world title between Gennady Golovkin and Milton Nu?ez will be moved from Guadalajara, Mexico on August 7 to the Roberto Duran Arena in Panama City on August 14. The bout was transferred for unknown reasons to the card headlined by the rematch between WBA bantamweight champion Anselmo Moreno against former WBA interim champion Nehomar Cerme?o in a mandatory fight. The card is presented by Promociones y Eventos del Istmo.

Some other scheduling changes/updates:

Looks like Michael Rosales is out as De la Rosa's opponent on the ESPN main event. No new oppoent announced yet. Too bad. This would have been a good scrap.

Punching bag Gary Gomez now in as Mollo's opponent instead of Frankin Lawrence. Probably wouldn't have been odds anyhow.

Roman Gonzales, who has got some talent but doesn't fight enough, now not fighting Manuel Vargas.

Looks like Showtime is doing going to do a 118 lb tournament. Here's what Steve Kim reported on the maxboxing message board.

Short version...

- Mares, Darchinyan, Perez, Agbeko are in. Showtime tried to make this a 'Super Six' format, but Top Rank didnt' put Montiel and Donaire for various reasons( like their high minimums that don't match up with what Showtime was offering, I'm told). They have talked to other bantams, but this is what the format will be( for now)

- Mares-Darchinyan fight, Perez-Agbeko then rematch, winners face each other.

Not bad, but I just really wish Top Rank would've played
