It is Las Vegas rules but these guys are VERY slow to change the grading. It's not looking good as they still have not changed it. Sometimes these line managers are very reluctant to change the grading and apparently I'm dealing with one of them now. It's very cut and dry but apparently this guy can't see the logic.

I have same problem Romi. In my case it was a straight bet with madjacks sponsor book. It is also Las Vegas rules. I just send them polite email with boxrec link. Hopefully they will change the grading.
I can't believe that guy told you that draw is a loss?!

I hope everyone gets their Montiel bets graded correctly...I have been there and I know how aggravating that can be....

So Cermeno was the lone underdog to win on the weekend....right?

But, taking everything into account and looking back on the fights, I think the best PLUS number on the board was Chavez UNDER 9.5

Congrats to those who hit that.....I didn't pull the trigger because I can't stand Chavez...but all signs were pointing to the early KO....

maybe the kid will grow and pair now and take on a real challenge....

I knew the guy had to be reading from the proposition rules and I told him that. He insisted that the wager was a loss. Then I found the rules area on the site and it was indeed for proposition wagers only. The guy recanted and apparently agreed that the wager should be graded as no action. The book has told me it's pending but it's still showing as a loss in my account. The issue is that there was a small window when a few sites showed it as a loss for Valdez. The thing is is that it was immediatly ruled a draw then shortly thereafter it was ruled as a loss for Montiel and then shortly after that it was ruled a technical draw. The decision wasn't changed the next day. It was changed shortly after the fight so the book needs to do the right thing and grade it as NO ACTION. It will be a 700.00 swing for me one way or the other. I'll still show a decent profit on the week regardless but a loss there won't sit well with me. Good luck!

PROPS to the book for making the correct decision:00hour :00hour :00hour. They just graded it as no action. As I said earlier, it was cut and dry but you never know with some of these books.

Now we can all breath a sigh of relief (those that wagered Montiel anyway). The guys that wagered Valdez and Valdez himself got fcked by the Mexican commission and NOT the books. It looks very clear to me that the officials blatantly ROBBED Valdez of a much deserved tko win. First the referee did everything he could to give Montiel some time to clear his head and then they ruled it a draw :nono: :nono: :nono:. Of course I'm happy to keep my dough but this blatant corruption is destroying this sport. This week alone we have O'Connors ridiculous scorecard then we have Calderon using his head yet once again to get out of trouble (good call punchy on the under). Didn't see it but the cards for Nietes appeared to be a little bogus and then the blatant robbery of Valdez.

It seems that nobody on the forum played Valdez, so :00hour :00hour :00hour
Thnx Romi, we probably used the same book. The beer is on me next time I'm in San Jose :)
:toast:

But seriously, boxing suffers badly lately. Only sport in the world where nobody cares about the rules and when an official fucks up, there is no penalty.
This is the major reason why this sport dropped from top to the margins.
I don't care though. It is still the best sport in the world and I am hooked for life.

Doesn't sound like the backers of McD are going to just drop it. They want Oconnor banned from reffing and he damn well should be. I can't name any specific fight but I know he's been involved in a few dubious decs. The ref that scored the Diaz/mags fight 118-110 was just involved in another questionable score. I don't keep track of the particular officials but somebody should and they should be banned from all major fights. If the trainers/managers make a big enough stink about particular refs/judges then the local commission will be forced to do something. I'll personally kick Joe Cortez in the cajones if I ever see him. That incompetant oaf cost me 7500 on his dreadful call on Soto/Lorenzo. I don't think Cortez is corrupt but he's very incompetant and the commission has a duty to take him out of the big fights. I hope Freddie Roach tells the Puerto Rican commission to go eff themselves and not have his fighters go there anymore. PR is notorious for screwing visiting fighters. Since I'm a nice guy so I'll forgive the blatantly corrupt Mexican officials and give them a pass THIS time :142smilie

Shoot me an email if you are ever going to be in the area.

Interesting. All these books give back refunds except bookmaker. They are sticking with Valdez as the winner.

Sorry to see that Mayo. They aren't following Vegas rules and that is exactly what I mentioned to my book in an email. The decision was changed immediatley after the match and NOT the next day. If the decision was overturned the next day or even hrs later then the Vegas rules would apply and there wouldn't be a refund. It would be interesting to know what kind of time frame they use as I think they are allowed a little room to decide. It was only a Valdez "win" for a very short while. I use that book and I think they are being chickenshit for not changing it to a no action.

They like to make money, by hook or by crook I guess. whatever, I beat there ass anyways and will start pulling out. I even showed they were wrong in there emails but they stuck to there guns. They said...

I just got off the phone with our Boxing line manager sir, and the
wager was graded as a win to Alex. All results are official by the
result of the governing body on the day of the fight. And it was
announced at the end of the fight that Alex was the winner. The wager
was graded correctly. Please feel free to contact our wagering
department if you want to discuss this matter any further.

Looks like that book had no action on Valdez and perhaps a lot of chalk on Montiel. It wasn't as if 3 weeks went by, it was merely an evening, albeit a convoluted one. The book should honor the final outcome.

That's exactly what it was:0corn So, now I see bookmaker is pretty shady. I won't there anymore and I will discourage others from playing there as well.

Your absolutely right!

I dont believe for a second that Oconner is that blind, he's just either corrupt or a veery sore loser.

And that goes for many other guys as well.

Its killing the sport and my bankroll as well. ;-)

If you know a way to fight this corruption, please let me know, I will gladly join in....

I had orig graed it a Montiel loss, was watchen the fights live on TV, but saw it was Changed at the venue that night by the officials after teh Chavez bout to TECH DRAW. So regraded the enxt morning after the diust settled. Should be TECH DRAW. And believe me, books I spoke to, and do work with would have loved to see Valdez win that fight. Wasnt a parlay on that card that didnt have Monteil tied into it....

Correct grade shoulda been a draw.

I believe that 1000%. I don't openly bash the books on forums but I'm pretty convinced Bookmaker pulled a fast one on Mayo and all Montiel backers. Montiel was a solid parlay play for many and they got fcked. If several hrs had passed then I can see the books not changing to NO ACTION but as far as I know the final dec was changed soon after the original 2 decs. They are as bad as the mexican officials that stole it from Valdez to begin with.

The crooks pay pretty quick surprising enough. Got my first check of several in 3 days. Thought they were a bit slower than that. That is great though as I am leaving for Vegas tomorrow for the Floyd fight. Won't let those assholes ruin it.:nono:
