It is Las Vegas rules but these guys are VERY slow to change the grading. It's not looking good as they still have not changed it. Sometimes these line managers are very reluctant to change the grading and apparently I'm dealing with one of them now. It's very cut and dry but apparently this guy can't see the logic.
I have same problem Romi. In my case it was a straight bet with madjacks sponsor book. It is also Las Vegas rules. I just send them polite email with boxrec link. Hopefully they will change the grading.
I can't believe that guy told you that draw is a loss?!
PROPS to the book for making the correct decision:00hour :00hour :00hour. They just graded it as no action. As I said earlier, it was cut and dry but you never know with some of these books.
It seems that nobody on the forum played Valdez, so :00hour :00hour :00hour
Thnx Romi, we probably used the same book. The beer is on me next time I'm in San Jose
:toast:
But seriously, boxing suffers badly lately. Only sport in the world where nobody cares about the rules and when an official fucks up, there is no penalty.
This is the major reason why this sport dropped from top to the margins.
I don't care though. It is still the best sport in the world and I am hooked for life.
Interesting. All these books give back refunds except bookmaker. They are sticking with Valdez as the winner.
They like to make money, by hook or by crook I guess. whatever, I beat there ass anyways and will start pulling out. I even showed they were wrong in there emails but they stuck to there guns. They said...
I just got off the phone with our Boxing line manager sir, and the
wager was graded as a win to Alex. All results are official by the
result of the governing body on the day of the fight. And it was
announced at the end of the fight that Alex was the winner. The wager
was graded correctly. Please feel free to contact our wagering
department if you want to discuss this matter any further.
Looks like that book had no action on Valdez and perhaps a lot of chalk on Montiel. It wasn't as if 3 weeks went by, it was merely an evening, albeit a convoluted one. The book should honor the final outcome.
Doesn't sound like the backers of McD are going to just drop it. They want Oconnor banned from reffing and he damn well should be. I can't name any specific fight but I know he's been involved in a few dubious decs. The ref that scored the Diaz/mags fight 118-110 was just involved in another questionable score. I don't keep track of the particular officials but somebody should and they should be banned from all major fights. If the trainers/managers make a big enough stink about particular refs/judges then the local commission will be forced to do something. I'll personally kick Joe Cortez in the cajones if I ever see him. That incompetant oaf cost me 7500 on his dreadful call on Soto/Lorenzo. I don't think Cortez is corrupt but he's very incompetant and the commission has a duty to take him out of the big fights. I hope Freddie Roach tells the Puerto Rican commission to go eff themselves and not have his fighters go there anymore. PR is notorious for screwing visiting fighters.
I had orig graed it a Montiel loss, was watchen the fights live on TV, but saw it was Changed at the venue that night by the officials after teh Chavez bout to TECH DRAW. So regraded the enxt morning after the diust settled. Should be TECH DRAW. And believe me, books I spoke to, and do work with would have loved to see Valdez win that fight. Wasnt a parlay on that card that didnt have Monteil tied into it....
Correct grade shoulda been a draw.
