Well, I have to back Pac-man as Cotto has gotten MORE freakin tatoos!!! He is out of control. Too many damn tats is a bad sign. He looks like a mini-Puerto Rican MIke Tyson. Parlay; Kessler-Manny Pac.

So you're parlaying Pac (because Cotto has too many tattoo's) with Kessler (who is a walking advertisement for tattoo's) ??? :142smilie

You're an animal......:box2:

It's like this. Kessler has HAD those same tats for years, whereas Cotto is getting more as we speak. Kessler has reached a comfort level in the tat department and is a confident, self assured dude. Cotto is looking for identity and keeps acquiring additional skin illustrations to bolster his confidence. Therefore, in applying this impeccable logic to the matchups in question, it should be quite obvious to anyone that Cotto is in trouble and that Kessler will handle Ward, no problem!

Cotto is first really big guy for Pac to fight. DeLaHoya was actually smaller in ring, Hatton maybe 1 or 2 pounds bigger and now Cotto who will outweigh Pac for at least 10 pounds, maybe even 15 in the ring.
So very simple logic here good bigger fighter will beat good smaller fighter.
I lost no money so far with Pac fight picks, I don't think I will lose money on this one, in fact this is great opportunity to see something which majority fail to see.
Cotto will beat Pac. And Cotto is underdog. And Valuev will beat Haye, and Valuev is underdog.
I don't like betting on underdogs normally because I don't like to have negative weeks but those two fights underdogs suppose to be favorites, in my opinion.

Also I want to add something.
I was at grand arrival of Pac and Hatton. Pac arrival was in total chaos but I saw glimps of Pac and Pac looked his normal self.
Hatton looked very weak, he acted almost in appologestic manner to his fans even before the fight. This was my perception. So I think people givivng credit to Pac too much, I think it was more how bad Hatton then how good Pac.
Pac DeLaHoya. This was surprise to me not that Pac won but that DeLaHoya came at extrimly light. I had pick originally DeLaHoya but I had more then enough time to hedge my bet when I heard how small DeLaHoya was in the ring.
To me from everything that I stated above - only one conclusion. Pac is overrated. If he beat Cotto then he is great fighter for me - no question. But I think he is no better then Cotto.

Sounds logical to me. Also, Cotto is fighting PacMan and Kessler is fighting Ward. So I'm too on PacMan @ -167 and Kessler @ -185. Good luck!

I agree but I think you're using wrong equation. I believe we have good bigger against great smaller fighter. Also last time we saw them in action, PacMan was on the top of his game. With Cotto, I fear that we already saw his best performance.
But who knows? This fight could take a lot of different paths. I can't wait.

Cotto is probably the biggest guy Pac has fought, including Oscar who was sleepwalking the whole fight. You have to remember Cotto fought AND beat Shane Mosley, a MUCH larger and stronger man then Pac. I just wonder how Pac will react when he eventually gets caught by Cotto. I see Pac moving with blinding speed out of the gate. Cotto will be getting tagged like there's no tomorrow. He survived "plaster man" Margarito's punches, a very big/strong welterweight, so he should weather the storm. Maybe I'm being too critical of Cotto's tats; if he displays excellent defense, Pac is in for a long nite. Look, Hatton is a slow caveman; Oscar was only there for a paycheck. WHY is Cotto there???? To win at any cost or save for retirement?

I have no doubt that Cotto will try to win at any cost. This is Cotto I know. Two years ago I would bet on him. You're right that neither Hoya nor Hatton showed against PacMan what we expected, but the guy won every second of every round against them. I can't help myself but being impressed by his performances. Pacman will have to be very patient though. I think he will touch Cotto a lot but he can't let himself get tagged on constant bases. Those punches will be much heavier than he used to and they could wear him down. There are a lot of questions. Cotto is no counter puncher, so where will fight take place? In the center of the ring? Will Cotto go forward and PacMan will be circling? Can Pacman fight like that and be disciplined the whole fight?
Anyways, I saw a good line so I hit it and we'll see what happens.

"the bunker"
i keep thinking about how,for portions of their fight, cotto outboxed and out-quicked mosely...it was impressive....

then,i remember plaster of paris and his life and death struggle with clottey.....

tough one to figure...cotto really struggled with the big guys..... can he quick with manny?...or if not,be the first bigger guy to put hurt on him?.....

we all know that this amazing climb through the weight classes has to end somewhere...

i think cotto`s perceived as damaged goods in many circles....is he?....

The one thing nobody can take away from Cotto is his PRECISION.
The guy can aim his shots very well and that makes him very dangerous for smaller Pac.
I recall Mosley hurting Cotto in the second rd and Cotto immediately answering and stunning Mosley back.

Pac likes to attack, and if he hurts Cotto he might leave himself open for a few instants for Cotto to capitalise.

This might well end up in a firefight with the better chin prevailing.

My pick is Pac.

There was a pic of Pac at 150lbs. and he looked like fuking Superman, ripped to the max. He is an amazing specimen to be sure. True Cotto has some major wear and tear as he has fought some nasty hombres. I think he may have a couple of world class performances left in him. It's just Pac is a freakin dynamo so it's tuff to bet aganist a guy who seems to have it all. Speed kills and Pac I'd say is faster. Not easy.

We don't need to worry about Pac's stamina over the distance.
The same cannot be said for Cotto; he's always had stamina issues when the bout went in the later rds, around the tenth.

The contracted weight is going to be a huge factor if it reaches these stages; unlike N'Dou, Mosley, Clottey, Pac will not let him survive.

I can't wait too. I almost never have a strong opinion about underdogs that have good chance of winning and now I have two: Valuev and Cotto.
One thing for sure if Pac will beat Cotto then he is a great fighter without questions. Even if Cotto will find good excuse.
But for now, I see Pac had problems with Marquez especially watch 12 round of second fight. After this he might got lucky with DeLaHoya and Hatton. And now first legitimate challenge Cotto. Usually fighters fail challenges like this or they pass and become truly great.
It is interesting how fans forget how Pac was outboxed by Morales and have even fights with Marguez. Morales and Marguez in my book stand no chance with Cotto.

I'm not thinking about Morales fight because it is evident that Pacman evolved and is not a same fighter now. Roach did wonders for him and Morales fight was at the start of their cooperation. Back then he was one armed bandit with no defense. Now he is a complete fighter. I agree about Marquez and I agree that if Cotto had sufficient boxing ability to outbox Mosley he could maybe outbox Manny (although Mosley is not a pure boxer, he wanted to fight in that fight and not stink out the joint).

Pacman is a very special fighter with extraordinary physical tools. He's quicker and a better boxer than Cotto. Dude, is already shredded at 150 + pounds. And people don't seem to get this but Pacquiao is the physically stronger man in this fight. Look at his legs. And Cotto is gun shy and diminished - at least to some degree.

Well that's an interesting point. Is Pac-man REALLY the stronger man in this fight? If that really is the case then Cotto is in deep poop. I'm not sure myself but it is possible. You got me thinking now. Maybe Pac-man is on some juice???

Right!

As for the juice possibility - yes, it's possible. I'm sure you can buy juice in the pharmacy's in the Philippines like you can in Mexico and any other like country. Not saying he's using but nothing in that regard would be surprising.

Remember Floyd alluding to that on that recent interview? :142smilie :142smilie :142smilie :mj07: :mj07: :mj07:

There should also be a limit on head size in each weight class. However a bigger head is a larger target for Cotto. I saw Carrot Top at the gym in Vegas. In all seriousness, he had what I would call lumps protruding from his upper shoulder area. Looked absolutely bizzare. No way this isn't juice induced. So a over sized cranium is not out of the question. They probably have to buy special sized head gear for Pac-man now!
