13) Here?s a question for us to consider; if Zion Williamson doesn?t play anymore this season. where do you seed Duke in the NCAA?s? How good are the Blue Devils without him?

I don?t have an answer to this, other than if he is indeed out for the year, Duke won?t say so before Selection Sunday, because that would diminish their seeding, maybe a couple of lines?

12) Virginia Tech 77, Duke 72? There is a kid on Duke who has missed 28 3-pointers in a row, and his 3-point %age (26.5%) is still better than Duke?s PG, Tre Jones (24.6%). Blue Devils are shooting 29.6% on the arc in conference games, 30.7% for the season.

11) Philadelphia Eagles are not franchise-tagging QB Nick Foles; he will be become a free agent, and I?m guessing a really highly sought-after one.

10) Villanova 67, Marquette 61? Two best teams in Big East hooked up here; chances are they?ll meet again on March 16, in Big East tournament final. Kid named Samuels on Villanova was averaging four points a game; he had 29 points in this one.

9) Tennessee 73, Ole Miss 71? Vols are tied with Kentucky/LSU atop the SEC; they host the Wildcats in Knoxville Saturday.

8) Baylor 84, Texas 83 OT? Horrific loss for Longhorns, who led by 19 with 14:56 left to play; leading 83-82, they turned ball over on an inbounds play with 0:07 left. Not good.

7) Trailblazers 97, Celtics 92? Boston is 1-8 vs spread if they played the night before.

6) West Virginia 104, TCU 96, 3OT? These teams battled it out for 55:00 Tuesday night and the Horned Frogs went home with a costly loss. West Virginia is having a lousy season but Derek Culver is developing into a pretty good player- he had 22 points, 21 rebounds in this game.

5) Iowa basketball coach Fran McCaffery got suspended for two games after he berated a ref after the Hawkeyes? 90-70 loss at Ohio State Tuesday. If you?re going to berate a ref and curse him out multiple times, better not to do it where media people can hear you.

4) Was wondering about this today so I looked it up; Wayne Gretzky is the NHL?s all-time leader in empty net goals, with 56.

Marion Hossa is 2nd on this list, with 40, followed by Mario Lemieux and Alex Ovechkin, with 33 each.

3) Heat 126, Warriors 125? Dwyane Wade banked in the game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer after his first shot was blocked. Miami is a half-game out of the last playoff spot in the East.

2) On Tuesday, Mets? OF Brandon Nimmo ate undercooked chicken that he cooked himself and got sick- the team sent him home from their game on Wednesday. Mets? plan to teach him how to cook. Ordering out would also seem to be a good idea.

1) 80-year old Bobby Knoop retired this week as a coach/instructor with the Angels; he was in baseball for 53 years, playing nine years in the major leagues, mostly in Anaheim. He made one All-Star Game and won three Golden Gloves.

Why bring this up? Because when I was a kid playing in Little League, a long, long time ago, I used a baseball glove signed by Bobby Knoop. I sucked at baseball, but wasn?t a bad fielder at least, and that glove was awesome. So thank you Bobby Knoop, and enjoy your retirement!!!

Dogs Strike Back

After watching the favorites go 11-3 straight up and 9-5 against the spread on Monday and Tuesday, the underdogs stormed back Wednesday with a 6-5 SU and 9-1-1 ATS mark. The Heat led the charge with a stunning 126-125 win over Golden State as a 9 ?-point home underdog. While Miami was certainly the right side as it led throughout the game, any bettors taking them on the money-line at 4/1 (Bet $100 to win $400) have watched the below clip a few times.

The Heat weren?t the only team snapping their losing skid last night. The Spurs got on track with a 105-93 win over Detroit as a 4 ?-point home favorite and San Antonio was the only ?chalk? to cash on Wednesday.

We did see all three late-night favorites win outright last night but the underdogs saved face against the spread and that?s been a common theme lately. Since we returned from the All-Star break last Thursday, favorites have gone 34-21 SU while underdogs are 33-21-1 ATS. The totals market has leaned slightly to the ?over? (28-27) during this span and that includes a 6-5 lean to the high side last night.

Six teams will be playing on no rest Wednesday and I?ve listed their production (SU, ATS, O/U) when facing back-to-back spots along with trends to watch as well.

Minnesota (2-6 SU, 5-3 ATS, 4-4 O/U) at Indiana (8-3 SU, 8-3 ATS, 4-7 O/U): Both clubs coming off losses last night as the Timberwolves collapsed late at Atlanta in overtime while Indiana also came up short in a 110-101 loss at Dallas. The Timberwolves have covered four straight games on no rest despite going 1-3 straight up. The Pacers have been a great look in back-to-back spots and even better at Bankers Life Fieldhouse, going 6-0 SU and 5-1 ATS on no rest. Minnesota has won and covered three of the last four meetings in this series, including a 101-91 win as a two-point home favorite on Oct. 22, 2018.

Golden State (6-2 SU, 2-5-1 ATS, 5-3 O/U) at Orlando: The Warriors got caught napping in Miami last night and are now listed as road favorites (-6) in this spot. Golden State is 0-5-1 ATS in its last six games on no rest despite going 4-2 straight up. The Warriors are 1-7 ATS in their last eight games and could easily be 0-8 if the Hornets show up for the second-half of their encounter this past Monday. Orlando played down to its competition again on Tuesday as it lost to the Knicks 108-103 as 7 ?-point road favorites. However, the Magic are 3-0 both SU and ATS in its last three as an underdog which includes last Sunday's win at Toronto.

Miami (4-4 SU, 4-4 ATS, 5-3 O/U) at Houston (5-3 SU, 4-4 ATS, 5-3 O/U): The Heat haven?t faced many back-to-back sets this season and only two in February, both decisions were losses and the ?under? cashed in each contest as well. Houston has won and covered three of its last four games on no rest, all three wins came by double digits. Coincidentally, the lone loss came to the Heat as the Rockets dropped a 101-99 setback as three-point road favorites on Dec. 20. Oddsmakers expecting Houston (-9) to get revenge here but bettors could be hesitant to lay the points knowing the Rockets are 2-6 ATS in their last eight at the Toyota Center.

Utah (5-5 SU, 4-6 ATS, 7-3 O/U) at Denver: The Jazz have been hit or miss on no rest this season but they have won three of their last four games. The ?over? has cashed in the past four contests.

Break up the Knicks!?

New York (13-48 SU, 26-34 ATS) will host Cleveland (14-47 SU, 27-33 ATS) tonight as a short home favorite (-3). The Knicks will be looking to win their third straight game on Wednesday after stunning the Spurs on Sunday and Magic on Tuesday from Madison Square Garden as underdogs. Going from hunter to hunted is never easy in any sport and New York hasn?t been a favorite since December. Overall, the Knicks are 3-5 both SU and ATS as a ?chalk? and they?ve lost their last four games in this role. New York?s longest winning streak this season was three games, which ended on Nov. 28. For what it?s worth, the Cavaliers are 2-0 both SU and ATS versus the Knicks this season, both wins coming in Cleveland.

TNT Action

Philadelphia (39-22 SU, 28-33 ATS) at Oklahoma City (38-22 SU, 33-27 ATS)

This game loses a little luster as the 76ers still won?t have All-Star Joel Embiid (knee) available and his mini-rivalry with Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook always provides added entertainment. VegasInsider.com NBA expert Tony Mejia offered up his thoughts on the televised non-conference matchup, which begins at 8:05 p.m. ET.

He said, ?The 76ers are likely going to employ a small-ball approach with Joel Embiid and the newly acquired Boban Marjanovic sidelined. It will be interesting to see if the lack of a back-to-the-basket threat limits Steven Adams? effectiveness for the Thunder, but the rebounding prowess of Russell Westbrook and Paul George make the Thunder a dangerous team to try and play position-less basketball against. Embiid had 31 points in Philly?s 117-115 loss when these teams played on Jan. 19. Tobias Harris was still with the Clippers when these teams met in Philly, but he?ll be critical in attempting to put a halt to the 19-game losing streak the 76ers are on against Oklahoma City.?

?The 76ers have dropped nine straight at Chesapeake Energy Arena and will need Harris and J.J. Redick to shoot the ball well from beyond the arc in order to have the firepower to hang around here. Rookie Jonah Bolden, veteran Amir Johnson and center Justin Patton, who has gotten in just one game his entire career, will attempt to hold their own against Adams and Nerlens Noel, who have been an extremely effective combination. Markieff Morris should also see time and could be the x-factor since he might be in line for more minutes with Philly lacking a traditional center. At home, not having to deal with Embid or Marjanovic certainly favors OKC and a faster pace given the lack of resistance inside. Although Embiid gets to the free-throw line at a high rate to aid ?overs,? his defense is a major factor that the 76ers are having a tough time replicating. Portland scored 130 points without him in the mix on Saturday night.?

The Thunder have gone 14-5 ATS during their 19-game winning streak over the 76ers and they?re laying 7 ?-points in this matchup. Philadelphia has alternated wins and losses in their last six games as underdogs and the team is 7-9 both SU and ATS this season when catching points. Make a note that the point-spread hasn?t mattered in any of those 16 contests so if you?re leaning Philadelphia, perhaps a money-line play at 5/2 odds could intrigue you.

This game has the highest total on the board at 239. OKC has watched the ?over? go 18-11 at home this season. Both teams have watched the ?under? go 2-1 in their games since the All-Star break.

Utah (34-26 SU, 31-27 ATS) at Denver (42-18 SU, 33-27 ATS)

The Nuggets come into this game with a five-game winning streak and three of those wins have occurred after the All-Star break. Denver has gone 3-0 ATS in those victories and that includes an impressive 121-112 victory over the Thunder on Tuesday.

For this matchup, the Nuggets opened as five-point home favorites and the number has been pushed up to -7 as of Thursday morning. Denver has been a tough out at the Pepsi Center this season, owning a league-best 27-4 record. More importantly, the Nuggets have gone 22-9 ATS for bettors. They?ve won 19 of their last 20 in Colorado and that includes a run of nine straight wins. During the current home winning streak, the club is 8-1 ATS.

As noted above, the Jazz are playing with no rest and their numbers are pedestrian in back-to-back spots. Utah has gone 2-1 both SU and ATS since the break and the lone loss was a heartbreaker, a 148-147 setback at Oklahoma City in overtime.

The Jazz haven?t been that strong on the road (14-16) this season but they?ve managed to churn out slight profits at the betting counter (15-13-1 ATS). In their last six games as visitors, they?re 2-4 SU and 4-2 ATS.

The pair split the first two meetings this season and the home team won and covered both contests. These teams are only schedule to play three times so this encounter will be the last matchup between them. Denver stopped Utah 103-88 on Nov. 3 as a 4 ?-point favorite from the Pepsi Center. Including that win, the Nuggets have won and covered five straight at home against the Jazz. The ?under? has cashed in all five of those games.

HOUSTON (AP) James Harden had 58 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds and the Houston Rockets overcame a 21-point third-quarter deficit to beat the Miami Heat 121-118 on Thursday night.

Harden made 8 of 18 3-pointers and was 16 of 32 overall from the field and 18 of 18 on free throws. He fell three points short of his career high set at New York on Jan. 23, and had the most point ever against the Heat - breaking Willie Burton's mark of 53 for Philadelphia on Dec. 13, 1994.

Austin Rivers scored 17 points, and Chris Paul and Gary Clark each had 14 to help Houston win its fourth straight game. The Rockets shot 49 percent, including 19 of 46 on 3-pointers.

Kelly Olynyk and Goran Dragic each had 21 points for Miami, Justise Winslow added 19 points and eight assists, and Josh Richardson had 18 points. The Heat shot 52 percent, making 15 of 28 3-pointers.

Miami was coming off a home victory over Golden State on Wednesday night on Dwyane Wade's banked 3-pointer at the buzzer. Houston played at Charlotte on Wednesday night.

76ERS 108, THUNDER 104

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Tobias Harris scored 32 points and Ben Simmons had a triple-double to help Philadelphia beat Oklahoma City.

Harris had his highest point total in eight games with Philadelphia since coming off in a trade with the Los Angeles Clippers. Simmons had 11 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists for his ninth triple-double of the season.

Star center Joel Embiid missed his fourth straight game because of left knee soreness.

Russell Westbrook had his 25th triple-double of the season for Oklahoma City, finishing with 23 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists. Thunder forward Paul George sat out with soreness in his right shoulder.

MAGIC 103, WARRIORS 96

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - Aaron Gordon had 22 points and 15 rebounds, Terrence Ross added 16 points and Orlando rallied in the final three minutes to beat Golden State.

A night after they were stunned in Miami by Dwyane Wade's buzzer-beater, the Warriors blew an 11-point lead in the fourth quarter and lost for the fourth time in six games.

D.J. Augustin scored 14 points and Nikola Vucevic had 12 points and 13 rebounds to help Orlando end an 11-game losing streak to the Warriors. Orlando's last win over Golden State was on Dec. 14, 2012.

Stephen Curry scored 33 points, but was only 1 for 6 in the fourth quarter. Klay Thompson and DeMarcus Cousins each had 21 for the Warriors. They played without Kevin Durant (rest) and Andre Iguodala (sick).

JAZZ 111, NUGGETS 104

DENVER (AP) - Donovan Mitchell scored 24 points, including six in the final two minutes, and short-handed Utah ended Denver's nine-game home win streak.

Kyle Korver added 22 as the Jazz showed plenty of energy despite playing on the second night of a back-to-back and with two of their guards out of the lineup. Utah led by as many as 18 points in the third quarter, only to see the lead trimmed to five with 8:41 remaining. Korver helped the Jazz on a 13-0 run to gain some separation and send them to their third straight victory.

Jamal Murray and Will Barton each had 21 points for Denver. All-Star big man Nikola Jokic dealt with foul trouble but still finished with 16 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists.

PACERS 122, TIMBERWOLVES 115

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Bojan Bogdanovic scored a season-high 35 points and Indiana overcame Karl-Anthony Towns' big night for Minnesota.

Towns had 42 points and 17 rebounds, scoring 23 points and grabbing seven rebounds in the first quarter.

Tied at 107, the Pacers closed with a 15-8 run, with Bogdanovic scoring 11 points.

CAVALIERS 125, KNICKS 118

NEW YORK (AP) - Kevin Love scored 26 points, Jordan Clarkson and Collin Sexton each had 22 and Cleveland overcame a 14-point deficit in the fourth quarter to beat New York.

Allonzo Trier scored 22 points for the Knicks.

13) Bryce Harper signs with the Phillies for 13 years, $330M, which works out to $156,695.16 per game, for every game the Phillies play thru 2031. All guaranteed money.

Keep in mind the National League will probably have the DH starting in 2022, so as Harper gets older, he can take ?days off? but still have his bat in the lineup.

California?s state income tax, at its highest level is over 12%, Pennsylvania has a flat 3% income tax, which may help explain this decision. Giants made a 12-year, $310 million offer, which was actually a decent amount less than the Phillies? offer, after taxes.

12) MLB Network was showing spring training games Thursday afternoon, but the games quickly got the hook once Harper?s signing was announced. Not sure I needed to hear four hours of people discussing Harper signing his contract. I don?t give a rat?s ass about anything Bob Costas says.

If you play fantasy baseball, not the best day to have Nick Williams on your team, like I do. The 25-year old OF loses his starting job now that Harper is in Philly.

Funny thing, Phillies played split squad games Thursday, and Williams wasn?t in either game, which at 1pm struck me as odd. At 3:00, it made a lot more sense.

11) Jason Witten came out of retirement and will play for the Cowboys again next season, which opens up a spot in ESPN?s Monday Night Football booth.

4) Something to think about two weeks from now: over last four years, Kentucky is 12-0 in the SEC basketball tournament, with nine wins by 10+ points.

In the four tournament finals, Wildcats started 19 different players. Isaiah Briscoe was only guy to start in two of them.

3) Johnny Manziel got kicked out of the CFL; they didn?t say why. Manziel had been playing for the Montreal Alouettes, who are coached by former Packers? coach Mike Sherman. Sherman?s son-in-law is Zac Taylor, the Cincinnati Bengals? new coach.

2) Kid on Xavier made a foul line jumper against St John?s last night, and it dawned on me; you almost never see that shot taken anymore. Everything is layups and 3?s; mid-range jumpers are frowned upon by the analytics people.

1) Indiana University (PA) started the last week of the regular season ranked No. 2 in the country in Division II, but when they showed up at Edinboro State for their game Wednesday, they realized they had made the 100+-mile trip without an important thing- their uniforms.

I put myself thru college as student manager of a D-III basketball team; I shudder to think of the grief their manager(s) took for this mistake. IUP won 87-59, much to the manager?(s) relief, but guaranteed they?ll be obsessive about not forgetting things the rest of the season.

Indiana, PA by the way, is the Christmas Tree Capital of the World; when I was in college, we played in their Christmas tournament, the Christmas Tree Classic. Next town over from Indiana is Punxatawney, where the ground hog sees (or doesn?t see) his shadow every February 2.

Game of the Night - Portland at Toronto (-5, 226.5), 8:05 ET, ESPN

The Trail Blazers are the team we choose to overlook.

Maybe it?s because they?re tucked in the Pacific Northwest and they seemingly operate in stealth mode due to the shadow cast by the Warriors, Nuggets, Thunder and Rockets, but the five-game winning streak they?ve put together now has them even with OKC behind conference leaders Golden State and Denver. No one has a longer run going entering Friday night?s action. The five-game surge has seen them cover every game, opening with a 129-107 rout of the Warriors just before the All-Star break and featuring a perfect run on the road through Eastern Conference competition.

Portland posted double-digit routs in Brooklyn, Philadelphia and Cleveland before compounding Boston?s misfortune with Wednesday night?s 97-92 victory. Its? seven-game trip continues in Canada tonight before stops in Charlotte and Memphis on Sunday and Tuesday. If the Blazers handle business as an underdog for the fourth time on their current run, they?ll be favored to complete a perfect road on the run and will be the talk of the NBA entering next Thursday?s nationally-televised home date against Oklahoma City.

The Trail Blazers are making themselves impossible to overlook.

They should already have wanted posters splattered throughout post offices in East cities given their 18-4 record against the conference. Considering there?s more depth at the top than there?s been in years, that?s impressive. If they sweep the Atlantic Division-leading Raptors, they?ll win a sixth straight contest for the first time since capturing 13 wins in a row between Feb. 14-March 18, similarly starting the streak just before the All-Star break and coming out of it with 12 consecutive conquests. The difference is that they were at home for nine of those wins, but it is a reminder we were having conversations about how seriously to take Portland last March and it wound up swept out of the first-round by a Pelicans team they couldn?t match up with.

The Blazers have added another quality offensive center in Enes Kanter and also just added Rodney Hood to try and strengthen the bench, but they?re largely the same group. Forward Jake Layman has taken a step forward. Moe Harkless has been an x-factor since getting healthy during this run after having knee surgery last March, coming up with a season-high 17 points and 10 boards in Wednesday?s upset in Boston. Still, this remains a team reliant on the smallish backcourt of Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum. Will there always be a ceiling?

Another test against a quality team like the Raptors, who went 8-1 in February and own one of the league?s top frontcourts, will give us another opportunity to see how they measure up. With Harkless back and Kanter having a little more experience with this group under his belt, this is a fantastic test for those guys and mainstays Jusuf Nurkic, Al-Farouq Aminu and Evan Turner given the level of competition. The versatility provided by Kawhi Leonard, Most Improved Player lock Pascal Siakam and centers Serge Ibaka and Marc Gasol is Toronto?s biggest weapon.

Portland won the first meeting 122-118 on Dec. 14, outrebounding the Raps 38-37 and holding on despite being outscored 72-70 in the second half. Kyle Lowry was absent for that game, so the Blazers will have to deal with Toronto?s All-Star point guard in addition to Gasol. Their bench was the difference, outscoring the Raptors? 58-26. Zach Collins and Meyers Leonard, expected to see minutes decrease with Kanter on board and Harkless back, combined for 20 points on 8-for-10 shooting and seven boards. Nik Stauskas, who scored 13 points in that game, has since been traded to Cleveland for Hood.

Like Portland, the Raps also come off a win over Boston, beating them at home on Tuesday as Leonard and Siakam combined for 46 points in a 118-95 rout. Toronto led by as much as 31 points after pulling away thanks to an 18-0 second-quarter run. It made 17 3-pointers, one off its career-high. Lowry looks healthy, dishing out 11 assists. Gasol looked as engaged as he has since arriving from Memphis, contributing five points, five rebounds and eight assists in just over 23 minutes. They recovered from 113-98 rout suffered on Sunday and should be well-rested since this will be only their fourth game out of the break and all have been at home. Toronto has won 15 of 17 overall at the newly renamed Scotiabank Arena, where their 26-6 mark ranks behind only Denver and Milwaukee in home winning percentage. Portland is looking to even its road mark at 15-15, which would mark the first time since November that it is back at .500 in away games.

The Blazers had their 26-game run of scoring over 100 points snapped in Wednesday?s win over Boston. The ?over? has connected in nine of Portland?s last 13 contests.

Best of the Rest

Charlotte at Brooklyn, 7:35 p.m. ET: The Hornets now have company atop the Southeast Division since Orlando?s upset of Golden State got them even in the standings. Kemba Walker had a tremendous game against the Warriors earlier in the week but missed a huge shot that would?ve tied it down the stretch. He?s come up empty in defending the home floor in Charlotte against the defending champs and the Rockets, but always relishes being back in his native New York and seems to be out of a slump that sabotaged his All-Star Game experience. This is the first time since just prior to that weekend that he?ll be shooting outside Spectrum Center, looking to get even after last Friday night?s 117-115 home loss to the Nets. Walker?s 32 points were overcome by D?Angelo Russell?s 40. Brooklyn?s All-Star scored the final 12 points in tying a career-high and will have guard Spencer Dinwiddie back to lend a hand for the first time since tearing ligaments in his thumb on Jan. 23. Brooklyn?s upset win last week ended a three-game losing streak at the hands of the Hornets. The Nets have standout wing Caris LeVert back from a horrific ankle injury and have seen him show flashes of his early form despite the fact he?s coming off an 0-for-5 showing in Wednesday?s loss to Washington, the Nets? fourth home loss in six games following a 13-1 run from Dec. 7-Jan. 29. The ?over? is 6-2 in Brooklyn?s last eight games and has connected in four of the last five involving Charlotte.

Washington at Boston, 8:05 p.m. ET: The Celtics are on a season-long four-game losing streak and have dropped six consecutive games in which Kyrie Irving has participated in, putting a disconnect between himself and teammates on full display for anyone that hadn?t already been paying attention. The Wizards come in as a dangerous underdog despite missing John Wall and having moved on from Otto Porter and Markieff Morris. New guys like Bobby Portis and Jabari Parker know the Celtics have been public enemy No. 1 for Washington for years and like to mix it up. The Wizards are just 8-16 on the road after winning in Brooklyn, having been led by Bradley Beal?s 31 points, wrapping up a February that saw him average over 30. Wall was the driving force last time these teams played each other on Dec. 12, finishing with 34 points and 13 assists, but Irving scored 38 and the Celtics won 130-125. Maybe seeing Washington?s porous defense will help Boston get going. The Wizards have seen the ?over? connect in 10 straight games as they?ve averaged 120.5 points while surrendering 125.5 in that stretch. The high-side has connected in 12 of 13.

L.A. Clippers at Sacramento, 10:05 p.m. ET: The Kings have dropped consecutive games and are in danger of falling back down to .500 with 20 games remaining if they fail to protect their home floor tonight. The Clippers and Spurs are even at 34-29 and take up residence in the final two playoffs pots in the Western Conference, 2.5 games up on ninth-place Sacramento and an additional game up on the Lakers (30-31). The Kings took their best shot at the Bucks in Wednesday?s 141-140 OT loss and are 1-3 since action resumed post-break, claiming only an upset in Oklahoma City. This will be their first game as a favorite, but they must overcome the absence of standout rookie forward Marvin Bagley III, who suffered a knee sprain against Milwaukee and will be out at least a week. L.A. beat Sacramento 122-108 on Jan. 27 behind 25 points from Montrezl Harrell and can sweep the season-series 4-0 with a road upset. The Clips have averaged 127.3 points per game in the three victories and the ?over? has gone 2-0-1. The high-side has hit in five of the last seven involving L.A. Opening at 240, this is expected to close as the largest total of the evening.

Milwaukee at L.A. Lakers, 10:35 p.m. ET:The Lakers finally got on the board after the All-Star break, surviving New Orleans at Staples in part because Anthony Davis sat the last quarter-and-a-half. LeBron James sealed the win with a huge 3-pointers and finished with 33 points and 10 assists, but we?ll see how he fares against Giannis Antetokounmpo, who has been bothered by a sore right knee this week and many not play his full complement of minutes. The Bucks are exercising caution with their star, a luxury they can afford since they own the NBA?s best record. This presents L.A. with a golden opportunity to steal a game as an underdog to offset some of the bad losses they?ve suffered over the past few weeks. Considering how challenging their remaining schedule is, the Lakers will need to pull off a few upsets to avoid missing the playoffs. Lonzo Ball (ankle) remains sidelined and Lance Stephenson (toe) won?t play, while the Bucks will be without backup point guard George Hill (groin). These teams have yet to play this season and will meet again at Fiserv Forum on March 19. Eric Bledsoe comes off a triple-double in the Bucks? OT win in Sacramento and scored a game-high 39 points in last March?s 124-122 win over the Lakers in the last meeting between these franchises. Antetokounmpo may again be kept to about 24 minutes for maintenance reasons and probably won?t play in Utah on Saturday night if he participates. The ?under? has delivered in five of the last seven involving the Bucks.

Home court advantage

The Hornets travel to Brooklyn having lost five of the most recent six games but have historically done well versus the Nets winning 10 of the most recent 14 matchups in the head-to-head.

The Hornets have surrendered an average of 118.7 points per game over their most recent three games. When these two teams met just over a week ago, it was D?Angelo Russell?s 40 points that helped the Nets secure the win. Look for Brooklyn to once again find success versus the Hornets and back them to cover as 3-point home favorites.


Extending their winning ways

The Blazers travel to Toronto having won five straight games but haven?t had much look versus the Raptors in the past, winning only one of the most recent seven contests.

Toronto has been dominant at Scotiabank Arena this season posting a 26-6 record, including winning 15 of the most recent 17 games there.

With Portland struggling to score points early on in road games, averaging only 52.1 first half points away from home, and just 48.3 in the first half of games in last three head-to-head meetings, back Toronto to find success early on and take them to cover the first half spread of 2.5-points.


Orchestrating some offense

New Orleans hope to make it six straight wins versus the Suns as they are 5.5-point road favorites today. Look for Pelicans? starting point guard Elfrid Payton to once again be a factor on the scoreboard since returning from injury.

Today, he is up against a Suns team surrendering an average of 24.2 points, 6.6 boards, and 8.5 dimes to opposing point guards. Payton has averaged 10.6 assists per game over his most recent three, and in what projects to be a high scoring game, back Over his points, rebounds, assists total of 22.5.


There?s no place like home

The Clippers have historically gotten the better of the Kings winning nine of the last 10 meetings overall, and five straight at the Golden 1 Center. Despite their success over the past couple of seasons, this year?s Kings team is different, and have played very well at home winning nine of their last 11 and covering the spread in 11-of-12 at home.

Look for Sacramento to keep things close and back them to cover the spread as 3.5-point home underdogs.


Lighting it up by halftime

The Bucks are 4.5-point favorites as they put their six-game winning streak on the line on the road versus the Lakers. Los Angeles have struggled to put together two wins in a row, and this task will not be easy versus a Bucks team averaging 132.7 points per game over their most recent three.

With Milwaukee averaging 68.3 first half points per game over their most recent three, and Los Angeles 58.7 throughout the most recent three game stretch, look for points to rack up early and back the first half game total Over 115.
