If he made it, a student got free tuition for a year, and sure enough, the President swished his shot— the players on the basketball team mobbed him, and a lucky student gets free tuition for this school year.
— Rick Pitino is the new coach at St John’s; hard to believe that the Red Storm hasn’t won an NCAA Tournament game since 2000. Pitino will have St John’s in the top 25 this season.
— Memphis Tigers have a 6-11 C named Jordan Brown who is in this fifth year of college basketball. He’s had an interesting journey:

— Over the last 30 years, only three football teams from the Big 14 Conference have started a season 0-6 against the spread:
