ucla has lost 4 straight & is having major problems with their offense (they average 296 total yds. on the season & 232 on the road) & in particular with the qb position....now i have recently read that they may be alternating qbs in this game, which imo is a terrible idea....in addition i wonder how the current players are feeling knowing that their coach has made public statements that the team needs better players in order to compete....on the other hand osu must be feeling good about themselves after being competitive on the road against usc last week....i also doubt that they will come out flat for this game because they didn't after upsetting usc last year....

on the road this year, ucla is allowing 60% of their opponents passes to be completed, while osu is completing over 65% of their passes this year....

under this coach, osu has a history of getting stronger as the year progresses as witnessed by these 2 trends....

over the last 2 seasons osu is 11-2 ATS after the first month of the season....the average score was osu 31.7, opponent 21.0....

over the last 2 seasons osu is 7-0 ats in weeks 5 through 9....the average score was osu 36.7, opponent 23.6....

rumor has it that somebody painted a goalpost on the ucla coach`s front door and he ended up sleeping on the porch....lol

i saw that ohio is getting the action overwhelmingly yet the line keeps going down....saw it go to 5.5 at a place in vegas....so since i liked this play since the beginning of the week, i thought that i would play it....

play against - road favorites of 3.5 to 10 points (ohio) - off an upset loss as a favorite against opponent off a road win....

since the 1992 the record for this system is....29-7....80.6%....

the straight up record of the team this system pertains to is....21-14....

the average line posted in these games was.... opponent favored by 6.4....

the average score in these games was....team 27, opponent 23.9....

the number of games in which this system covered the spread by 7 or more points was 20....55.6% of all games....

louisville averages only 20 ppg for the season....& ark st. averages 13 ppg on the road....also 9 of the last 11 ark. st. road games have gone under....

over the last 2 seasons ark st is 7-0 under as a road underdog....the average score was ark st 12.9, opponent 27.1....

kragthorpe is 10-2 under when the total is between 49.5 and 56 as the coach of louisville....
the average score was louisville 16.9, opponent 32.0....


play under - any team against the total (louisville) - in non-conference games, off 2 straight losses to conference rivals, allowing 31 points or more....

over the last 5 seasons the record for this system is....30-7....81.1%....

the average total posted in these games was....56.1....the average score in these games was.... team 22.6, opponent 28.2....

i was going to hold off on this play until i knew the status of smu's starting qb,but a capper that i know told me that the backup qb has been recruited by jones especially to run his type of offense & last week while filling in for mitchell. pardon went 11-16 for 141 yards & a td....since the backup seems capable, i thought i would make my play now in case the line dips down where buying a 1/2 or 1 point is not possible to get to 17....a fyi....a hotel in vegas has the line at 15....

although tulsa can move the ball, they are having major problems on their o-line that is disrupting the continuity of the offense....the tulsa qb has been sacked on average 4 times per game, which ranks 118th nationally.....

although they tend to turn the ball over, smu will be able to move the ball also but it is their defense that is much improved over past years as they rank 9th in the nation in take-aways with 20....

play on - underdogs of 10.5 to 21 points (smu) - turnover prone team (2.5+ to/game) against a mistake-free team (<=1.25 to/game)....

over the last 5 seasons the record for this system is....29-8....78.4%....

the average line posted in these games was.... opponent favored by 16.1....the average score in these games was....team 23, opponent 31.7....average point differential....8.7....


if you look at the yardage of each team in league play, you will notice that tulsa owns only a 32 yard advantage over smu....imo smu should be able to match points with tulsa in this game so i will take the 17....
