You know what bbc, I'm one of those owners and that statement about penis size........ is fucking stupid and baseless. I'm a pit bull owner as well as a rottweiler, Labrador, Shepard, retriever, chow, Newfoundland, Catahoula Leopard dog, toy poodle, old English sheep dog, Norwegian Elkhound, min pinscher, chihuahua, husky, malamute, St. Bernard, doberman, maltese, shih tzu, mastiff, wiemariener (sp?), cattle dog, and terrier owner at some point in my adult life so what the fuck does that say about my penis size?

I guess it fluctuates.

First of all there is no such specific breed of Pitt bull dog. Several different breeds have been grouped into the Pitt bull classification for reporting offenses. Many mutts that may be part boxer or terrier may be "named" as a Pitt bull, while a golden retriever is listed as exactly that yet it's a Labrador. With that knowledge we know that the Pitt bull, being the one breed that was originally bred only in the USA, is the most populous of the current reported breeds in the states accounting for almost 49% of our entire dog population. Add on top of that the number of times dogs are incorrectly identified, since cops rarely get anything right, and the fact that a fatal dog attack requires a larger breed and that number is to be expected. That is how actual research and factual information searches are done for smart people hedge. Like I told you earlier, flawed information is only good to those ignorant enough to believe anything they read or hear. As long as it's said by Fox of course.
Where exactly did you get your information regarding this 67% number you're referring to?
If you actually did read this somewhere, did you check to see what data was gathered and from where to publish this report? Did every fatal attack get followed up with a qualified expert identifying the exact breed of the dog to ensure accuracy? Of course not, if you even read that and didn't pull it straight from your ass, it will say as reported by news accounts.
Get your fucking facts straight dumbass before you start advocating the removal of my country's liberty and freedoms.

Hope that helps,
FDC

The study found that Pit bulls and Rottweilers alone accounted for 67% of deaths

Right in the middle of the article...

I'm done arguing with you, you have turned this personal and I am taking the high road...I think these dogs should be outlawed, I'm done here....have a nice day

So you lied about what it said the first time? I didn't read the article but I'm assuming that I'm correct in my assumption regarding data? That why your done with the discussion. I'm once again correct, not because i called you a dumbass. You don't fool anyone. I thought I was quite pleasant.
Regardless, don't advocate for laws governing my liberties unless you at least try to understand the topic.

Hope that helps,

I understand your stance and while I disagree that the breed is naturally aggressive I don't think your children's safety is in anymore jeopardy than it was yesterday. If they currently have interactions with the breed you can simply stop that. Yes there will always be accidents but that is with every breed. As I've stated before, it's sensationalized by the media. They're the ray rice of the dog world while German Shepard are terrell suggs.

Hope that helps,
FDC

Yea it can happen with every breed but with most breeds the dog has a bad episode it results in just being bitten. But with a pitbull the risk for being maimed for life or killed skyrockets! Especially with children. Its a proven fact. Sure its sensationalized but that is because a child gets torn to shreds or is killed. I love the hell out of dogs but facts are facts. I would not let my grandchildren near a pitbull.

Facts are facts, but the skyrocket comment is not one. You're speculating whether you care to admit it or not. There is no study ever done that says anything if the sort.

I don't think that you are under any obligation to bring your grandchildren around any dog.

Also, skyrocket is a term coined by the MEDIA

:mj07:

You are probably right. Lets go with significantly higher. I love dogs more than most people. The unconditional love and loyalty dogs have enhanced my life with is immense. I am sure pit bulls are loving loyal dogs. But yes there are recorded statistics that reflect the fact that the Pit does maim or kill at a much higher rate than any other dog. Fact

There has to be SOME data out there that both sides of the argument can agree on. ALL of the data can't be skewed. To say ALL of the data collected is wrong (or that all the data is accurate) is a cop out.

I'd like to go back to a question I raised earlier. What percentage of attacks from a certain breed is acceptable to everyone? If you told me that 1 out of 1000 of a certain breed where involved in an attack/bite I would say that is too many regardless if it was a "bully type" or lab.

I'd also like to ask another question of the group. Why do people choose "bully types"? There are plenty of dogs that display the same great traits known in bully type breeds. I am not slamming anyone. So please don't read that tone in my post. I believe people choose pit bulls to be rebellious, as kind of a "fuck you" to society, "I'll buy whatever dog I want." That is just my impression.

There is no doubt that the media takes the easy way out and fills their air time with stories of pit bull attacks instead of doing some real work. Pit bulls do get more negative attention than other breeds that also attack. Frankly I'm sick of the stories. Instead of sending the reporter to the crime scene they should send them to research the records of the local authorities in their state.

Or they're compensating for something else

The only data that matters to me is the fact that I don't hear any news stories of other breeds of dogs killing their owners or the neighbors kids. If any breed of dog killed a person, I think the media would run with it.

Maybe its the media, but I did a quick Wiki research and it appears a majority are either a Pit Bull or Pit Mix.

Are there good Pit Bulls, sure, with so many other options, I'll pass.

I work with them PaSprint so I may have different reasons to love the breed and advocate for them than others. Friday a beautiful Pitt pup was brought in near death as the owner had strangled the dog until it passed out and took scissors to his ears and lopped them off. Then put duct tape over it put him outside and went to work. For several days the dogs ears went untreated and are infected. Luckily a friend alerted me to it and the dog is clinging to life. Friday he licked my hand and tried to wag his tail. All the puppy wants to do is love and be loved n even after all that abuse done to him by humans.

So I guess my answer to you sprint is that I think the acceptable level of bites from a specific breed for me would be directly proportional to the level of acceptable animal abuse.

Moreover, the pertinence of the subject to society is negligible. Aren't we all suppose to be protesting the horrors of domestic and child abuse? I mean I'm sure that several posters in this thread that were so upset about those social events that their picket line walking days are still booked. I wouldn't want to think that their anger has abated as the media coverage does.

Hope this helps,

Guys, guys, let's think rationally about this. All of mankind is wrong on this one, the 100 or so FDCs of the world surely have it right.

First of all, how pretentious and conceited are you dude? You really think you're on the side of mankind? You're the one that has it right because of what Saint, because you're almost a doctor (dentist)?
I promise you I am far more educated and read on the issue than you! I do work with them and am fully certified to train and work with exactly that type of animal. How full of shit are you to think that 7.999 billion or whatever the fuck it is sides with you simply because you say so.
Dick.
I really like how you try to include yourself in your perceived majority though.
