27.8 million worldwide since the virus began. And these are only those who turned to the doctor. Not everyone has symptoms. I'm shocked.:shrug: Does nature want to get rid of us? I think yes....
It is very sad. Guys! There are people among you who do not believe in this virus and believe that it is a common flu. Has the government done everything to destroy the economies of other countries? I've heard of this. I want to know your opinion...

The variant from England has been shown to be sensitive to vaccines, but no data yet on the variant from South Africa vs vaccines .....We do have some data of variant #B1351 (aka 501Y.V2) from SA vs natural immunity, and it is not good - half the folks got no protection at all. Vacccines might provide stronger protection than natural, but we don?t know, and if is stronger, doubtful be a huge difference...

Moderna reports mostly good news....their vaccine fine vs UK variant, and ok (6x less effective, still mostly works) vs South African variant, and they are working on a 3rd booster shot to enhance that.....and Worth pointing out that vaccine development is such that you can re-jigger the vaccine as fast as (fairly slow-paced) Covid mutates... https://investors.modernatx.com/new...accine-retains-neutralizing-activity-against/
Back to pre-Thanksgiving levels....which is still tho 2x hospitalization rate of last 2 peaks...and if this UK variant gets widespread in 3 weeks or so, as feared, there will be a new surge...

Israel already seeing way less old folks in ICU and the morgue...US both doing good for a big country, but could also be much better...

WVA is the only state to opt out of CDC program to use Walgreens and CVS to administer vaccine as they have few of these chains in many rural areas, many more independent pharmacies. WVA also using their Natl Guard for some of the logistics.

Current hospital job has gone from 4 covid floors to two with plans to go down to one the next month. Maybe a return to normalcy soon?
