I've got a desktop PC running Kodi with my TV as monitor. Works great. This website has a lot of helpful info and setup/config tools:
https://addons.tvaddons.ag/

I've got a shitty internet connection right now (getting gig service next week!) so streaming is often choppy. I find it easier to download the movie or TV show as a result. That should change next week!

I've noticed a decline in Genesis as well... been using Phoenix more frequently as result. Anyone have a favorite addon they'd recommend other than Phoenix?

You need a firestick tv. The firestick is great, but the firestick tv rarely buffers. It will cost about $40 more. My wife learned how to program Kodi in about 2 hours. I have a friend that does them more fancy with the skins, etc, but u really don't need that.

Old School you get access to every televised game everywhere. I have seen badminton, table tennis, regular sports, and of course all the soccer you could ever possibly want.

Think of it this way... The firestick is searching the Internet for content instead of you getting on the computer and going to hundreds of sketchy virus sites. It's great. I got rid of my cable, and just have cable internet now. You must have fast internet and new good equipment, but that's usually free thru your provider.

Genius way to describe it.

SALTS is very similar to Genesis and is being updated.

I use a wizard to get all of the good add ons. For those that don't know about a wizard. You basically go in with a clean Kodi, nothing else on it. Install the wizard you want and it does everything for you from adding add ons, changing the skins to changing the whole look of Kodi. I've tried quite a few and currently I'm using Wookie. I like it quite a bit but it's nothing better than a few of the other top wizards. To me the look and use is a lot easier than a vanilla Kodi with your own add ins added to it.

No problems yet. Great quality, although I had to adjust my screen because everything came out dark but it is better than ever now. Watch 3 movies over the weekend.

My Fire Stick quit picking up the Wi-Fi signal...even though it recognized it with a "strong signal"...a Google search indicated a lot of people having this problem...tried all the suggestions...the only one that worked was to return it and replace with Fire TV....so far is working ok......

Who all is watching IPTV on their Kodi? I've gotten to the point where I don't even turn on my cable box anymore. If I'm not watching a movie or tv show from one of the add ons I'm watching live TV on there. I have my Ivue guide set up and it all works very well now. Hopefully some more HD streams come online shortly.

Seriously? It takes 10 minutes to set it up yourself. You're going to spend more time getting it to him than what it would take you to do it yourself. Forgot about the money side of it.

Do it yourself and yes there is a good reason. You'll eventually need to update either the addons or Kodi and a lot of times you have to remove the addons and then put the new one on there. They don't just update. If you pay someone to do it for you then you won't know how. You're going to have to learn now or later so you may as well save 80.

It's literally as easy as downloading and opening something. Use a wizard and just follow the instructions. check out youtube for the wizard if you need.

Doesn't it cost 40 bucks anyway? I will figure it out eventually, lol. I'm excited to try it out this weekend before the football games start Sunday. Thanks for the advise :0008
