The argument is that when you don't like the statistics you just decide they aren't right, based on nothing. It's exactly what Eric is talking about. You don't like what you hear, make up your own facts.

But the real argument is you have to be right about everything.

I never said my opinion was the end all and the only thing people should listen to, I simply said I don't believe the "covid" numbers are all Covid numbers. I am entitled to believe and share whatever I believe to be true and you can agree or disagree and that's perfectly fine but the bottom line is there is no solid evidence either way so as I said at the top of this post, the only real argument is making sure everyone knows that you are right.

You love to argue

Florida Sees Nearly 2,800 New Coronavirus Cases In Day, Sets New Record
Syndicated Local ? CBS Miami 10 mins ago

MIAMI (CBSMiami/AP) ? Florida has a new record for one-day increases in the number of positive coronavirus cases in the state.

? Provided by CBS Miami

On Tuesday, the state reported 2,783 new cases of COVID-19 bringing the total to 80,109 cases. It had a total of 2,993 deaths, an increase of 55 from the day before.

Total hospital admissions for COVID-19 cases are now at 12,206. The state?s overall percentage of positive tests was 5.5 percent.

Miami-Dade saw a one day increase of 544 new cases for a total of 22,741 cases. It has 21 new deaths for a total of 847. The overall percentage of positive tests is 9.4 percent.

Broward has 412 new cases for a total of 9,498 cases and no new deaths. Its percentage of positive tests is 6.4 percent.

Monroe has one new case for a total of 131 cases and no new deaths. Its percentage of positive tests is 3.1 percent.

?Today?s record-high new cases makes it clear: Governor DeSantis has lost control of Florida?s COVID-19 response. His policies are simply not working, and he?s recklessly reopening Florida despite the data screaming for caution. Refusing to acknowledge the alarming patterns in cases, hospitalizations, and positivity is not only arrogant, but will cost lives, public health, and our economy,? said state Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried in a statement.

Since late May, 17 of 19 days have seen at least 1,000 new cases as more people are getting tested and the state has gradually reopened businesses and gathering spots. Most Florida businesses have reopened, but with restrictions such as admitting only 50% of the usual seating capacity at indoor restaurants and movie theaters.

?I implore you to wear masks and continue social distancing ? and just because a place is open, doesn?t mean it?s safe to go there. To our local governments, please encourage your residents to stay home, mask up, and socially distance. If the Governor is unwilling to make the right decisions, then they must be made in our cities, our states, and our homes. We are in this together,? said Fried.

Gov. Ron DeSantis last week said the upward trend in confirmed cases is mostly a reflection of more testing being conducted combined with some spikes in some agriculture communities, but the number of tests conducted daily peaked three weeks ago and the percentage of positive tests is now over 6%, more than double the rate of 2.3% in late May.

Scarey to think what the numbers will be by Aug. 1st.

I'm here in the middle of this. PEOPLE are fucking idiots. Maybe 25% are wearing masks. i had to go into CVS to grab an RX and this idiot lady walks in full mask and gloves and pulls down her mask to ask the CVS employee a question. People lost their minds in line.

After reopening, restaurants again shutting their doors as coronavirus flares

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/corona...n-shutting-their-doors-as-coronavirus-flares/

restaurants have been open in New Orleans for weeks, no problems here at the moment - my 4 and 6 year olds are at camp, socializing with other kids for the 1st time in 3 months, does that make me stupid?

also, don't think we should be as concerned with case numbers at the moment, major uptick in hospitalizations and ventilator use more reason for concern - LA has under 600 people in hospitals with COVID and exactly 76 on ventilators

numbers are going to rise a bit with the reopening of the country, protests, etc - most will simply get the virus, either be asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic, then get better and move on - if you think that you will suffer more dire consequences than that if you become infected, take proper precautions

To each his own. No way in hell my kids would be at a camp. How would you ever forgive yourself if god forbid they got Covid & Kawasaki? It's a few months or a year of life to lay low and be overly guarded.

you know the saying...

YOU CAN'T FIX ......

We have eaten at 3 restaurants in the past 2 weeks and with Lab employees each time from the hospitals. Today we ate at Taqueria Tsunami in Athens, GA with Athens Regional Lab Managers. 400 bed hospital with ZERO people in ICU with COVID. Each table 10 feet apart, and we all sat 4-6 feet apart, total of 6 people. Restaurant was set up perfectly. Very SMARTLY.

Yet, I guess we are STUPID along with you too, Scott, according to old school opinion. Sheezus.

The STUPID is the people authorizing these openings...

We Americans are self entitled to begin with...Anyone one thinking that the majority will have any care in the world for others is sadly mistaken..

June 16 (Reuters) - New coronavirus infections hit record highs in six U.S. states on Tuesday, marking a rising tide of cases for a second consecutive week as most states moved forward with reopening their economies.

Arizona, Florida, Oklahoma, Oregon and Texas all reported record increases in new cases on Tuesday after recording all-time highs last week. Nevada also reported its highest single-day tally of new cases on Tuesday, up from a previous high on May 23. Hospitalizations are also rising or at record highs.

At Arizona's Tucson Medical Center on Monday, just a single intensive care unit (ICU) bed designated for COVID-19 patients was available, with the other 19 beds filled, a hospital representative said.

"ICU to be expanded, hopefully, in coming days," Dr. Steven Oscherwitz, an infectious disease expert at the hospital, said in a tweet on Monday night. "Not sure where people needing ICU care will be able to go, since most AZ (Arizona) hospitals are pretty full now."

Health officials in many states attribute the spike to businesses reopening and Memorial Day weekend gatherings in late May. Many states are also bracing for a possible increase in cases stemming from tens of thousands of people protesting to end racial injustice and police brutality for the past three weeks.

CHURCH OUTBREAK

In Oregon, health officials are trying to contain an outbreak of over 200 new cases in Union County linked to the Lighthouse United Pentecostal Church.

The Oregonian newspaper reported that a video on the church's Facebook page on May 24 showed hundreds of people standing close together singing. Large gatherings were not permitting under the state's reopening plan at that time. The video has since been deleted, it said.

Reuters was not able to reach the church for comment.

In Texas, Governor Greg Abbott said the record number of new cases is due to more testing. Hospitalizations - a metric not linked to increased testing - also hit a record high. But the state has nearly 15,000 hospital beds available, Abbott said.
