Reading all these posts now that I'm home for lunch. Funny, I guess, is the gambler's perspective. As a Soderling backer, I didn't feel Gonzo collapsed....he had spent so much energy getting the match back to level. At 2-0 in sets, it was Soderling's match and he began to blow it, but Gonzo's level of play at the time had a lot to do with it. I definitely sensed it slipping away, but Robin showed unbelievable grit and determination to take 5 straight games to close it out! Hard to believe what Magnus Norman has done to this guy's mental attitude is such short time.
So, while I empathize with those on Fernando, it sure seems like a stretch to say he gagged that one away. IMO, Soderling played brilliantly again, hit a rough patch, then found a way to dig deep, regain his wonderful form and ultimately win a match he deserved. :00hour
But then again, I had a healthy sized wager on the big Swede, so I obviously see things a bit differently right now.
