Sounds like he has his career expectations in order by planning on opening a store-front shop in some Tennessee town (with a population of less than 500) and doing a lot of pd work (public defender for you non-lawyer types). He may also want to consider a second career in screen door repair to supplement his law income for the first 25 or so years of his practice.
The reality Mr. Pornking is that I take offense to you calling my little southern law student friend a "bastard". Just because he is from Tennessee does not give you the right to assume anything about his parentage. Your coming across as some arrogant urbanite from a B country.
Lastly, your point about your worth as a lawyer based upon your law school couldnt be further from the truth. Clinton went to Yale. Rhodes scholar. His lovely wife also went to Yale. Will be the first female president of this currently B country and will turn it back into an A country. How many x-presidents went to ............. drum roll please................
