Good catch, doggie. I was off by a few doors. Here's the bistro, Cafe Du Marche, within spitting distance of the flower shop - check it out on Google earth.

and, to prove it's the right place, here's my SO having a drink there a few years ago -

Mags would have found it, but since he isn't going to show anyway...

Yep and those are probably your accountant and stock broker on the right.

If I was in his shoes I certainly wouldn't be wasting my time thinking you actual could be there--especially after not knowing a flower shop from a cafe that you frequent nightly- :mj07:

Fool me once shame on me-- fool me twice--

Will you be using Trenchs lear jet or Tramps yacht for travel. :)

this is the only way that I flew to France back
in the day. It was sad when they stopped flying
the Concorde

Maybe i'm not following this whole discussion. I know you like to think you are a master of the English language, so I thought I would run this by you. You asked Duff to meet you. You already knew what he was like. He offered to pay and then you come up with some BS excuse to back out AND insult him at the same time. Why am I not surprised? :toast: :mj07:

that pretty much sums it up

Wish I had gotten a chance to fly on the Concorde. The greatest passenger jet ever built. Now they fly cattle cars with wings.

That's not a cattle car Trench, it's a Sheeple Mover.

This is a Cattle Car

Ride in one of these beasts for 20 + hours :nono: with another 200 soldiers who have gas, Yes, it's a cattle car ! kurby kurby

Why did you stop? Doesn't this saying keep going when applying to you?

By the way, why is doggie dogshit even commenting in a thread about Paris? Could you imagine him walking through Paris? Just what France needs, another example of their idea of a sophisticated American. Straight from Kentucky to Paris, its doggie dogshit.

As expected, MagsPussy didn't show, even though we found a body guard for him. She said : "Tell Mr. Poosy not to worry. I'll keep his petit glandes reproductives safe."

We had to drink Mag's wine for him.

Duff,

If you had a great time, saw some great sites, wined and dine at I am guessing at some great places? Why would your first post be attacking someone?

Wouldn't you want to come back, post some great pictures, tell some stories after re-charging?

Why start off by being so combative?

I know I am not the only one who would like to see some pictures and hear about the trip without a bunch of mud slinging. :toast:

Duff: "Pardon me sir but do you have the time? My watch is still on U.S. time."

Stranger: "So you are American imperialist?"

Duff: "Well, I wouldn't exactly put it that..."

thats a good one Duff

hope you had a nice time.

Yep, had a fine time. Great wine and food, the French are very friendly, and made a couple day trips on the TGV, 150 mph, smooth as glass.

No terrorists in sight. Also very few police, everything seemed completely normal. I did hear a report on German television that they thought the whole terrorist thing was way overblown by American television. As far as I know there have been no terrorist acts attempted anywhere in Europe.

Probably another of those Faux News Chicken Little panics.

Best estimate I can make we rode about 80 Metro trips, walked a hundred miles, rode the TGV, and saw everything on any tourist's list of things to see. I did see for the first time the memorial to all the non-combatants killed by the Nazis. It was as moving as my first visit to the Viet Nam memorial. Brought a tear to my eye.

For the gun nuts, I noted a shoulder fired German anti tank rifle from WWI. 13mm and it would punch holes in those early tanks. Makes a BAR look look a pea shooter.

You don't want to see all the photos I made. I ran out of camera memory (32MB) the first day, but a helpful guy in an internet cafe fixed me up with a 4 GB memory card. At max pixels, it holds 4100 photos. I'll post a few later

How about a pic of your shoulder after firing the weapon? You should still have some purple left. :142smilie

Duff... Your trip sounds awful... having to rub elbows with all those European socialists and being forced to use their antiquated socialist mass transit systems.

Good thing you didn't have to rely on their socialized healthcare system... :scared ;)

Or their socialized schooling, free from age 3 though high school and inexpensive thereafter..or their 4 month paid maternity leave...or their retirement at age 60...or the wages that let our waiter rent a $1300 apartment...or have to buy goods with a Euro that is now worth $1.40 to the dollar.

And God knows, I'd hate to eat any more of their food @$12US or drink their wine, @$7/USbottle.

And, if I were younger and unattached, I'd surely hate to date any of those French women who (no shit) are eligible for free physician vaginal improvement exercise classes.

I didn't get a chance to do any bird shooting, but I'd sure hate to walk the heather fields full of grouse behind a Brittany and carrying one of those wimpy French 16 ga SxS.

And I'd really hate to know that the physically and mentally disabled and the old folks are taken care of.

And walking down streets which are swept and washed every night, and Metros that run every two minutes, and trains and airlines which are always on time, now that's just downright capitalistic.

Damn - Socialism sucks big time.

Wow.

I hardly step in the Politics Section of the forum not because I'm not informed but more because life is too short.

I've made a hobby of traveling the states and meeting up with other MJers. In doing so I've made some really good friends and I've met dozens.

Mags, your actions in this thread say a lot about you. Having asked DM for drinks, he graciously offers you dinner complete with a very detailed time and place; a welcoming response.

And then you slapped him blaming your own insecurities and social awkwardness on his perceived vulgarity and you "saving" your children from what maybe pure evil. Have you listened to the words on the radio? You DO let your kids listen to radio, right? I have never met a single MJer who wasn't a great guy in person.

Piss fucking poor man. And really sad. Seriously. You have issues. In real life. Fucking whack job.

Duff Miver, I would love to meet up and have a beer states side. Where do you reside?
