I certainly wouldn't tag Obama a radical or a muslim, but he will have hard time over coming the "guilt by association factor" on this one.
Sure wish he'd put Hiliary away already--I don't know now.

then come back and say you see no prob:0corn

The "God Damn America" part was new for me and I've got a problem with that, not much of the rest, though. Not to say I agree with him, but it's nothing new and it's just his opinion.

If he were running for President, I don't think I'd vote for him and I probably wouldn't go to his church.

But since he's not running for President . . . .

ummm..yeah...it`s bullshit rhetoric from a moronic racist who knows next to nothing about history..

the summary conclusions of the 1945 intelligence report on the proposed invasion of japan (operation downfall) was as follows:

1. japan would not surrender unconditionally without a demonstration of total destruction.....

2. in an invasion of the japanese home islands, the people would fight to the death to protect their nation...

3. an invasion of the japanese home islands would cost approximately 1 million american casualties and perhaps 10 million japanese....

harry truman's difficult decision to drop the atom bombs on hiroshima and nagasaki saved millions of lives and brought the wholesale slaughter of world war II to a merciful end.....

and if not for this decision, many of us may well not be sitting behind our computers discussing this issue....

."I've listened to the video of the hour and didn't hear him say one derogatory comment about the white man. Not saying he hasn't in the past, but this sermon is pretty vanilla "

how`s this, robert?....

"No, no, no, to God Bless America...God damn America ... God damn America ... God damn America" ...

"We believe in white supremacy and black inferiority and believe it more than we believe in God. . . . We conducted radiation experiments on our own people. . . . We care nothing about human life if the ends justify the means!"

it's simple.....a man of principle would not associate himself with a hate spewing church or america bashing pastor like that. ...

and what kind of man exposes his children to this crap?....

my god, the hate is palpable..i honestly am reminded of hitler's speeches while listening to the "reverend's" homily......

Is this really where we're at? Is this how thin the gruel is?

Debating a candidates pastors comments??

I mean, my God. (pun not intended and no need for a rebuke for speaking 'His' name in vain from the uber-racist bible thumper Buddy)

I suppose that Obama probably takes it as a good thing that this is the best that his opponents have. Kinda like Hillary digging up his 2nd grade 'paper' to show that YES, HE *DID* INDEED WANT TO BE PRESIDENT!!

Then you have the goofs like the guy in this forum who says this Christian is ACTUALLY a radical Muslim! F*ck, even Wayne disagreed with THAT!

Man, just shooting at ghosts so far with this silly shit. I'm sure someone will find a proper swift boat, though.

While the Democrats predictably implode and seem headed to what would be for them a disastrous brokered convention, McCain gets to concentrate on fund raising and campaigning.

I think the pastors philosophy is really quite important Matt.

What we have is candidate few know little about with exception of being a great motivator/speaker.
With his emphasis for qualifications on hope-change and a uniter.

The press has went out of its way to dig in on any backround of his--These tapes were public- available to anyone on CD ( ABC has had them for eons--but sat on them). Why?

Obama had little family input on his values in life--and has acknowledged many times that this pastor was his mentor and had significant input on his life.

Now we are confronted with actual footage of what this pastor is about--and we have Obama for the 3rd time having to come out and denouce views of associates. Do we believe him when he says he wasn't aware of this side of his pastor who has been his mentor-uncle-close confident,20 years--or do we ask subjectively --how could that be possibly?
---and when he is associated with these types of people--how does the "uniter" pan out?

--another aspect of action vs words
How about his prior Illinois voting record-another very significant portal into who Obama is.
You'd think the media would have had all the issues out in front long ago--NOT--It took me prob 4 hours to did up and verify his records. Why?

The way I see it--entire campaign has been on motivational aspect--have asked numerous here some more than once on qualifications and always come up with same answer.

--and the Zezko matter is getting ready to shed some new light--yesterday Obama came out with some new admission not previously unconvered--
"Obama reveals Rezko played bigger fundraising role"
http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/chi-obama-rezkomar15,1,2882610.story

So I guess my question is Matt--at what point in time--and how much evidence will it take till folks--weigh his words vs facts and conclude he is--
A: blowing smoke up their ass--or
B: innocent- by reason of being the worst judge of character in history.

Either way in my view--neither are qualifications for Pres of U.S.

yeah...romney had to give a national speech to explain his mormonism...d`you forget about that?....

oh,that doesn`t count...

if romney had said that david duke or some similarly racist p.o.s. was his mentor and wrote a book titled from quotes by this racist, can you imagine the shitstorm?.....

this guy`s farakhan`s buddy...he`s a racist("the united states of white america?") and an antisemite...

truth is,we don`t know much about obama...he`s brand spanking new...that`s why this stuff is absolutely necessary....he`s not vying for dog catcher, you know...

....now he`s denying any awareness of the rev. wright's rhetoric during obama's "20 year "membership in wright's church?...

that`s begs credulity and more than a bit....particularly given this nyt`s article...

"" According to the pastor, Mr. Obama then told him, 'You can get kind of rough in the sermons, so what we?ve decided is that it?s best for you not to be out there in public.'

Patrick Healy contributed reporting from Washington." ...........

and when did the lib honeymoon with bill and hillary end?......buncha`very loyal supporters the clinton`s have here...looks like the 8 years of joy and prosperity don`t really mean squadouche anymore, does it?.....

we`ve got another month or so before the pa. primary....and i`m sure bill and hill are verrrry busy.....i`m sure their little hands are in this up to their elbows....

i have visions of hillary popping champagne corks and eating bbq about now.......

and i'm popping the popcorn--who's got the drinks?:D

Hang on Gary.

It's my understanding that the right Reverand Ted Haggard was in consultation with the greatest president this country has ever had in the last eight years, the one and only George W. Bush. Now, of course, not even the most leftist of us centrists would argue that the great and wonderful President Bush knew His Emminence (possibly while speaking with the great one during his weekly guidance sessions) liked to dock his love yacht in other mens mud canals while enjoying the illegal effects of crystal meth. I mean once the great uniter found out about Teddy boy he distanced himself. When he thought Teddy was a nice clean evangelical, he was in his inner circle of religous nutbags.

Same with Obama. If I was a betting person, I would bet you a dime to a dollar that Obama's dude made a lot of tame, non-violent, positive, religous type (and therefore non-sensational) sermons and speeches, which Obama was identifying with much like the Bushman did with Teddy (until the shit hit the fan).

Dick brain survived. I don't see why Obama won't.

Eddie

PS By the way, Romney speech on Mormonism was a copy of Kennedy's speech on Catholicism from 1960. He just substituted the word Mormon for the word Catholic and the word elder for the word pope.

Explaining your religion is different than explaining the pastor of your church and his sermons.

Sounds like we only can get truth from FOX. Oh My My are we screwed for sure. Great leaders like Hannity and all his half truths. So we have Mc Cain with a cople of preechers that are nuts. For certain the one in Texas. Obama's is another nut. So now Mc Cain and Obama are out can't be Prez. So only Hillary is pure. God help us if we listen to folks like FOX/CNN. I said over and over keep religion the hell out of government. And if they keep sticking there fingers in. Tax the hell out of them.

Not for nothing......but the candidate himself seems to be the only one not bringing up race as a club in his bag. Maybe thats just crafty politics and maybe its him truly taking the high road:shrug:
.....

The high road is how this guy is gonna win. Every little bit on the news that brings race to the forefront has been a pitch in the dirt; he hasn't taken a single cut at any of them. Nothing in his comportment suggests that he will take that cut. He's smarter than that, which speaks volumes, imho.

Yes. Whether he wins or not or even whether or not I vote for him, this is a very good presidential trait. It's been a long time since we've seen a candidate take attacks in stride. ...When Hillary asked that thing about who would you trust to answer the call after an attack at 3 am - I think I would trust the person who keeps a level head and doesn't panic. Obama has shown this characeristic far better than the others.

who`s bush`s pastor?....gimme a link so i can read up on it...i wasn`t aware of this...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ted_Haggard

In 2005, Haggard was listed by Time magazine as one of the top 25 most influential evangelicals in America.[13] Haggard is a firm supporter of President George W. Bush, and is sometimes credited with rallying evangelicals behind Bush during the 2004 election.[14] Author Jeff Sharlet reported in 2005 that Haggard "talks to? Bush or his advisers every Monday" and stated at that time that "no pastor in America holds more sway over the political direction of evangelicalism."[15] In a June 2005 Wall Street Journal article, "Ted Haggard, the head of the 30-million strong National Association of Evangelicals, joked that the only disagreement between himself and the leader of the Western world is automotive: Mr. Bush drives a Ford pickup, whereas he prefers a Chevy."

i see the "cleveland steamer" is working overtime on the obama spin...lol...again,when did hillary jump the shark?.....

"in consultation".....??.....d`you make that up?...bush never claimed that haggard was "his mentor"...he didn`t attend his church for 20 years...

haggard was at best a fund raiser...at worst a hypocrite...not a snarling anti-american anti-semite....

i tend to believe that obamas nasty wife was the catalyst for joining this church.....but "bar-oque" has stayed with the depraved institution and the abominable reverend for 20+ years.....no excuses....

and they bring their children to hear this racist ass......that really raises all kinds of scary questions about the man(obama)...wonder how the kids(obama`s and the others in the pews) enjoyed that "humping hillary" sermon?

barry considers this fascist old fool to be his "spiritual adviser"...not some peripheral non- entity like haggard.....HE stated so...not wright....as in haggard`s case...

sorry...no passes for "he of no middle name". (pssst, it's hussein....shhhhh!)

This is just what the doctor ordered for Hillary's campaign. Wonder if the Super-delegates can read?

?Barack knows what it means living in a country and a culture that is controlled by rich white people,? Wright said. ?Hillary would never know that.

?Hillary ain?t never been called a n igger. Hillary has never had a people defined as a non-person.?

?Hillary is married to Bill, and Bill has been good to us. No he ain?t! Bill did us, just like he did Monica Lewinsky. He was riding dirty.?

it could be argued that this quote is true.

I mean once the great uniter found out about Teddy boy he distanced himself.

And never once was there a call by the Centrists in this country for Bush to announce that he was against smoking pole or crystel meth.

It's great to see this and prostitutes being the discussion on the news. We wouldn't want to talk about the fact that the Fed just basically printed 200 Billion greenbacks to bail out the banks. With a free falling dollar. With Greenspan telling the Arabs that they should be moving away from the petrodollar into a more stable currency.

Iraq will be the farthest thing from the voters minds once November hits.
