It's Over

It's Over

Mark it down, Obama appears on Fox news, stammers like a Louisiana mayor, and makes himself look like the rebirth of Nixon, and all "centrists" or better see him for who he truly is, a non-winner.

Bye.

Saul,

Surprised at your response. As a long-time forum Centrist, you should know that we respect all views and our Mage friend is one of the unfortunate ones that we're trying to help.

Keep posting, Tenzing.

Thanks, Saul for the Wikepedia pop.

Bush and/or advisors talking to Haggard every Monday. Gary, I'm in Cincinnati, not Cleveland. Please, note that the spin is coming from southern Ohio.

I'm just glad to see that you right wing nut bags continue with your proven theory of how to win elections.

To wit: CREATE A DISTRACTING NON ISSUE, AND KEEP IT IN THE HEADLINES WITH THE CORPORATE MEDIA

In 2004, we had the swiftboats, sanctity of marriage issue, and flag burning. Electorate put war, excuse me, occupation and economy on back burner so that we made sure that the real important issues like gays getting married and the good moral republicans who were againsts such sinners, got in office. In 2008, the republican propoganda machine is revving up the pastor identification issue, the middle name issue and the muslim religion scare issue. Lets make sure we keep such Muslims who believe whatever their ayotollah's tell them to do in their mosques on saturday out of American public office. Sounds like something the Southern electorate will buy.

Its great how the nazi's had all there guns aimed at poor Hillary until Obama passed her in the polls. All of a sudden he became the anti-Christ. In the meantime, McCain's shaking hands and hugging Pastor John Hegge who is a whole lot more scary that Pastor Wright.

Why don't we hear about McCain and Hegge's connections as often as we he about the Obama and Wright connections in the media? Oh yeah, I forgot, the corportate media (GE, Disney, Fox) is liberal.

you can try and draw ridiculous comparisons with idiots that were fund raisers or supporters of republicans....

but none were "mentors" of 20+years...no republicans credited these hypocrites as being their "spiritual advisors"..used their quotes as titles for their life stories.......maybe hegge and haggard claimed to be close...but,i don`t see any quotes from bush even coming close to what obama claims about wright...

you`re flailing,gents...

but, alot has been explained...as the lovely michelle pointed out, americans are "cynical, slothful mean people".....

and her attending "trinity" for half of her life, it's no wonder she has those opinions...or, in the converse, maybe she attends "trinity" because she has those opinions.....

..i mean,she`s only pulling down a measly $350,000 a year...

wright`s a raving racist...and an anti-semite...but,in the liberal brain(or what passes for one) that only counts if you`re white....

this ain`t going away until bar-oque does a mea culpa....and even then, hillary won`t let it go away...

i wish bho the best of luck in sweeping it under the rug...

now,go play......go tear one another a new one...but, try and leave enough meat on the bone for the convention....and then mccain....

mccain?....you guys might cannibalize yourselves to the point that you could actually lose to.......mccain?........

april,may,june,july,august,september,october.....

i`m gonna need alot of popcorn...:142smilie

I find it very troubling that we have a mystery man running for President who is closely affiliated with people that hate our allies and love our enemies. People that celebrate the terror attacks by chanting god damn America. His wife is finally proud to be an American now that she might be first lady. I realize that there isn't a good nominee for President and people are desperate. This dude gives Lombardi like speeches of hope and change and he is nothing more then a fox trying to get into the hen house. The only spin Obama's cult like following can put on this is that somebody elses pastor hates gay people. I am very glad these tapes have been released so people can see how Obama spends his Sundays for the last 20 years OFcourse, I will probably be labeled as a simple minded southern redneck idiot who is getting worked up about something so Trivial.

I know exactly what this man's problem is: He is probably 75% white and in denial of that. He attempts to talk ghetto to compensate for the fact that he's barely black to begin with. He feels guilty because he's not black enough. He lashes out against white America to try and compensate for the fact that he's more white than black. He's basically a jackass full of rhetoric. But he believes in God. Jesus is of course his saviour.

But guess what......He isn't Obama. Obama knows this guy and goes to his church. End of story. This is no more of a story than Bush-Haggard. In fact, since this guy hasn't broken any laws - it's actually MUCH LESS of a story. Anybody who actually thinks Obama embraces this oreo's viewpoints is simply looking for another excuse to bash the guy.

"But guess what......He isn't Obama. Obama knows this guy and goes to his church. End of
story. "

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Knows this guy??--I'd imagine after twenty years-calling him his mentor/uncle-marriage-baptisms-appointing him to committees--yep I agree he knows him---
If you have any inkling Obama didn't know what this guy was about--Webster may need to re-define Naive :)

Would be nice if all the politicians could get on stage and denouce everything they get caught after the fact.

--and while on topic of naive--do you believe it when he tells pep clubs he was only person always against war--got an idea he may have to "denouce" a few of these quotes down the road--

But it is not only the future of Obama's anti-war commitment being questioned; it is also his past consistency. In a new article on Commentary magazine's Web site, Peter Wehner undertakes a thorough examination of Obama's Iraq record. It is, shall we say, complex.

More than a year after the initial success of the invasion, Obama explained, "There's not much of a difference between my position and George Bush's position at this stage." And he was correct. In July 2004, he argued that America had an "absolute obligation" to stay in Iraq until the country stabilized. "The failure of the Iraqi state would be a disaster," he said. "It would dishonor the 900-plus men and women who have already died."

--or what about his theme of change--or rants on deficit--

see any contradictions here---
Looks like typical politician to me
Waaaay to lengthy to cut and paste--
http://blogs.suntimes.com/sweet/2008/03/sweet_scoop_obama_after_initia.html

I'll give him credit for overcoming adversity-- exceptional achedemic achievement--but other than that-I see a person brought into to politics by questionable people--associating with questionable people--questionable voting record--and no question on lack of experience.
Does that answer your question :)

Words more Words, half truths, cut and run's through out this thread. Some place the truth is there. One thing we know. We right now have the most church following Prez of all time. And at VP the smartes man in politics. Per Reb's. Wow look whare it got us. The one point about Obama of what was said after we were already in Iraq would be right. And now it does not. Times change.

believe the change in heart may have came about the same time the Soros-moveon-Kos funding for anti war candidates started to kick in --

Obama on moveOn--after the General Petraus ad--
2-1-08
"From their principled opposition to the Iraq war ... to their strong support for a number of progressive causes, MoveOn shows what Americans can achieve when we come together in a grassroots movement for change. I thank them for their support and look forward to working with their members in the weeks and months ahead."

I'll side with you partially DJV--he has all the credentials for commander and chief--from the code pink prespective--which brings up one of few things he hasn't denounced--The general Betrayus ad--but expect he'll have 2nd chance as can see that being brought up later--as H can't-she's occupant in same boat :)

Dogs, I don't think you ever commented on Bush's weekly discussions with Ted Haggard. What is your opinion of all that?

This guy's full of crap. There weren't 70,000 civilians killed at Hiroshima, it was 100,000. I'll bet(pardon the pun) there are other things he said that were untrue.

The campaign's been good. Edwards had all the candidates talking early about issues. Now in a few more months we'll see what liberal candidate the Democrats will nominate for office so that they can try and compete with the liberal candidate that the Republicans are running for office.

The times they are a changin'

Yes DTB that may happen. What I been looking at last few weeks and to me it's getting scary. Here we are Mc Cain, Hillary & Obama. Thats the best this great country can come up with. I almost feal like staying home. But I never will. To many died so I can vote. But are politics go about destroying those who run. So the good ones don't even run. And folks like Fox/Cnn, NY Times, Rush. Don't help this problem at all with all the hate they can bring. We need to get above some this chit. For god sake Al Gore's name starting to sound good. At least there's not much chit they can throw at him they didn't already.

Church: Wright's character 'being assassinated'

March 16, 2008
BY MAUREEN O'DONNELL Staff Reporter

Sen. Barack Obama's church staged a strong defense of its senior pastor Sunday, comparing criticism of Rev. Jeremiah Wright to the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. NO DOUBT

Obama's Democratic presidential bid has drawn scrutiny to Wright's outspoken comments on race and U.S. policy, as well as the Afro-centric flavor of Trinity United Church of Christ, 400 W. 95th St. Critics have said Wright is wrong-headed, militant and divisive. The church says Wright's commitment to social justice is a flashpoint for some conservatives.

"Nearly three weeks before the 40th commemorative anniversary of the murder of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., the Rev. Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr.'s character is being assassinated in the public sphere because he has preached a social gospel on behalf of oppressed women, children and men in America and around the globe,'' the church said in a statement released Sunday.

During a Sunday evening service, Pastor Otis Moss III spoke of "external forces" that want to "box us in and vilify us."

In a Palm Sunday sermon laden with symbolism, Moss seemed to liken a biblical donkey or colt to the oppressed. To undermine it, "You have to assassinate the colt's character," Moss said to shouts of "Preach."

"....The domesticated donkey says, 'You need to stop talking that social justice stuff" and speak only of Jesus, Moss said.

In the church's prepared statement, Moss criticized basing Wright's legacy on a few comments. After 36 years of preaching, "It is an indictment on Dr. Wright's ministerial legacy to present his global ministry within a 15- or 30-second sound bite,'' Moss said.

"It saddens me to see news stories reporting such a caricature of a congregation that has been such a blessing,'' said church president Rev. John J. Thomas in the statement. "It's time for us to say 'No' to these attacks and declare that we will not allow anyone to undermine or destroy the ministries of any of our congregations in order to serve their own narrow political or ideological ends."
