i have to ask this and risk a ban....beiing that the line was hung weeks ago,who didn`t run to their offshore account and put something on almeida vs hughes at -150/170 when it opened?...

Why do that when you can get Fitch as a dog? LOL. I've made some money on Almeida but GW I really think Hughes might be the play here. OK, hear me out!(again the only reason I know this is because I've worried over several bets because of it). Almeida's biggest weakness is his endurance and old or not Hughes has a gas tank. I really think Hughes takes Almeida down and wears him out on the ground. Hughes isn't one to get sub'd these day so I don't think that will happen and Almeida's standup isn't great.

At +whatever it is I think the country boy is the play.

And above all else I still think Hughes has the best entrance song.(for him anyway) :toast:

Took a nice chuck of Hughes already; hoping the line moves some more in my favor so I can pound it some more. :toast:

agree,the best entrance song ever....i`ll take your comments into consideration....

just think that hughes is way past his prime..he looks lethargic in the ring of late.....hughes will be 37 soon...almeida`s 33 but he took a sabbatical from mma...he`s the much fresher guy........almeida is a "big" 170 pounder...he`s beaten guys like nate marquardt...actually,dominated him.. ...

i don`t see this as much of a stand-up fight because that`s neither guy`s strength...almeida has a height advantage...

the two guys that beat almeida were stand-up fighters(cote and semenov)...never was crazy about hughes` stand-up...



but don`t sell almeida`s grappling short...watch some of his adcc matches on youtube...not sure hughes,at this stage,can bully almeida on the ground........

just my opinion

On the UFC 117 card I see three fights on the undercard i would rather see than the Hughes fight. can't believe Red and Lay like Hughes. Looks to me that Hughes is just picking up checks nowadays.
