Ya it is as if every game got hit hard to the under. We will see how it plays out with this one. Stuttgart has a bit of a defensive lineup, but I like what Leverkusen is doing loading up the right side with Frimpong and Diaby.

As I write this Ivan Tony just popped his second goal to win it for Brentford at the Etihad. How did England not put this guy in their World Cup line up, what a joke.

I don’t often talk about coaches but have thought Southgate is in over his head.ever since a few years ago when, I forget who they played but it was A minnow like San Marino or Luxembourg and he played with 2 holding mids and they couldn’t score against a team they never had the ball to even defend….

why is Grealish on this team over Tony? Grealish since leaving villa hasn’t been anything to write home about

Hey kidd totally agree I have been bigging up Ivan Toney in my threads for 2 years now. I was thinking the same thing about Grealish the guy left Villa and is invisible in many games. I always support the English , they are our Commonwealth brothers up here in Canada. I unfortunately don't have high hopes for them this year.

Well a cross bar and an offside by inches cost us that game. Very salty as those misses ended up costing me an 8 game lottery parlay damnit. Nonetheless its been a good week. Im probably going to tuck the profits away and get ready for the World Cup. I got a few on the radar and might pop back in tomorrow.

WORLD CUP
Here is what I have so far as my other posts are pushed back in this thread. Take it with a grain of salt. I am for the most part a Totals guy, and while I play the big tournaments, I leave much of the international capping to Kid and Bason. I plan to pick my spots with some Overs, and will see how some of these futures play out.

TO WIN THE WORLD CUP
- posted these a few weeks ago

ARGENTINA +700
BRAZIL +400 - its short I know, but I am counting on them going to at least the Quarters or Semi and this will hopefully prove to be a wise decision.

TO QUALIFY FROM GROUP STAGES

DENMARK + URUGUAY (2 gamer) - YES To qualify
SERBIA + 110 - Yes to Qualify

SERBIA - I looked at all these teams, I did an examination of the brackets and potential matchups. I honestly think Serbia can do some damage in this tournament. These guys are LOADED in attack. Their midfield and forwards boasts the likes of Vlahovic, Mitrovic, Tadic, Kostic, Illic, Jovic, Milenkovic-Savic. They had a strong qualifying campaign, and have proven to be a tough out. I would put their mids and forwards up against any other world class club, I truly believe they can do some serious damage. They play fast, attacking football, and can be punishing up top. Personally, I rank them higher than Switzerland. The Swiss/Serbia game is going to be huge, and there is a lot of bad blood between the Serbian team and Shaqiri and Xhaxa, THEY HATE EACH OTHER. If this game was played in Europe they would probably need some serious security for this match lol. Now the only thing holding them back is injuries. MItrovic is their all time leading scorer and he has sat the last 10 days or so with supposed foot injury. They don't play for another 10 days so I am hoping by the time the Swiss game rolls around he is a go. Another issue is that Vlahovic hasn't played in ages, even if he can go how match fit is this guy going to be. I don't know how deep this team can go with their top strikers out, but I think they have enough flare up top to get out of the group. If they play Portugal in the Round of 16 they will be super confident as they played the Portugese 4 times in qualifying and only lost once. I am still considering them at +500 to make it to the Quarters, if they were healthy this would be a no brainer for me, but I will sit on it for a few days.

DARK HORSES

-While some huge underdogs have won the Euros, the World Cup is a different animal, and I believe to date the longest odds for a champion was +700, correct me if I am wrong. This World Cup in the middle of the winter, in Qatar of all places will be unique. I think if we are ever to see a whacky tournament this is it. There is no continental advantage, the weather will be hot as hell, and a lot of teams are banged up. Playing the super long shots still makes things fun and can make the later stages that much more exciting if one of your horses goes on a run.

Now, do I think these 2 teams can win it, probably not. But, I think they have the capability to make a deep run.

i) DENMARK +28-1 - these guys might not be the most talented from front to back, but everyone buys into the system, and they will be a super tough out for the best of the clubs in the world. Denmark proved not too long ago in Euros that they have the fortitude, and system to go deep in International Tournys. They had a super strong qualifying campaign. The key for Denmark to make a run is for them to win their Group. IF and that is a big IF, they can win the group I think the table is set for them to go to the Quarters or Semis. They will not be afraid of France, they already took down France multiple times, including a fully healthy french squad about 60 days ago. If however they do not win the group they are probably going to face Argentina in the Round of 16 which would lead to an early exit.

ii) URUGUAY 50-1 - I love the blend of youth and experience here. Uruguay should be a tough out for anyone. They got one of the most productive, talented players in the world right now with Velvedre, who is complemented with Bentancour another great MF. The attack lead by Nunez up top should strike fear into opponents. Uruguay is known for making runs in the World Cup. Again, they need to win the Group. If they can win their Group I think they have a realistic path to go on a run in this tournament. Finishing 2nd in the group is likely going to pit them in a match vs Brazil in the Round of 16.

The Dutch at 12-1 look interesting because they have a pretty good path to go deep given where they land in the brackets. Their defense is super elite, but I don't know about their attacking up top, I think they may be 1 tourny away from being considered a real bonafide contender.

Wasn’t really keen on the French from the get. Wonder how lines were affected if at all. Haven’t been in to check yet.

Dusan Vlahovic suited up today in a Serbia tuneup and looked very nice. He looks ready to go. I am counting on him and Mitrovic and taking a flyer on another prop. Serbia attack is STRONG, their Midfield and Forwards will give any top team fits. Like I said they are in a tough group, and they lack a bit in defense, but my gut says they will not be an easy out.

SERBIA TO REACH QUARTER FINALS +500:popcorn2

Its almost time boys. I am being very selective in the 1st week. I locked these totals in.

GERMANY/JAPAN OVER 2.5 -138

CANADA/BELGIUM OVER 2.5 -125

I grade the Japan/Germany game the stronger of the 2 due to Alphonso Davies being questionable. Keep an eye on the lineups.

Benzema OUT add him to the last for France. Denmark to win the group looks better and better. Like I said if they avoid round of 16 against Argentina and stay on the right side of the bracket the table will be set for them to go deep.

Davies will be playing mark my words. He arrived recently. Was going to post Canada OVER 2.5 as my strongest play but you beat me to it:toast: and Kickserv is right.... we we will be surprising a few at this World Cup. I like them to finish top 2 in their group:popcorn2

We will see how it plays out. Playing the likes of Belgium and Croatia on the World Stage is alot different than the minnows in Concacaf. I look forward to the matches though. They are certainly going to need Davies if they have any hope.

I see at least 2 goals on this one, I will try my chances and walk with a push in the event of a 1-1 draw.

my futures are eating shit, there is a reason I only play OVERS LOL.

My gut tells me we see goals here. Similar to the USA game yesterday, I will play the low hanging fruit, and take a push in the even there is a 1-1 tie.

MEXICO/POLAND OVER 2 - 120

my tag says 2014 , and I lurked for about a decade before I ever made a post, and can't recall Mr. 1837. With that said, if he is a good capper I am cool with it since we are on the same side tomorrow :0corn

That Poland/Mex game was forced for some action, I hate when I do that. It was a mistake although I think if Lewa hit that pk it would of opened things up a bit and perhaps could of gotten a push. Oh well, none the less the 2 plays tomorrow are my first 2 sizeable plays of the tourny, so hopefully we take both of them down!

I will say that I am very interested to see Japan play. I have this feeling in my gut that says they are going to be a tough out. Japan has some ballers, I said it already Kamada in the midfield has some serious talent in the MF, and Minamino on his day can snipe. Their squad is full of guys that play in European top flights , I think they are going to cause some problems for the opposition. Nobody should take them lightly, they have weapons to hurt teams, it would not surprise me to see Japan collect points against the big boys Germany and Spain.

I have Japan advancing for +320 just for 2* but I’m a believer!
