Good a little bit of wind is all that is needed to ensure Love doesn't win the tournament. The guy is the worst wind player on tour IMO.

Myron .... it's me and you against the world.

Still can't believe all these happy nutters (-5) who have backed Davis "There's something wrong in his head" Love. In this thread it's as if a snowball rolling down a steep hill has been grabbing their cash in it's wake... well it's not having any of mine... he can't possibly... no chance... gulp!

last 1st round leader to win was Crenshaw in 84, Love led at 1st round before, and came second here..aren't you on at 80/1 then?

Interesting to hear they had been watering the fairways at the 275-330 yard mark. That is why the balls were not running much..Probably was the likes of Nick Price with his watering can..Goes some way to explain why the short guys are still in there...not sure how long for though..unless it continues to rain..

What dismal offers today. No 2rd rd matches even offered at 365-sia and sportingbet.:nooo:
Won't let it damper the greatest event in golf however. What a gorgeous setting and kudos to Hootie and crew for continueing to tell greedy corporate america to kiss their ass and continue to support the fans allowing only 4 minutes of commercials an hour.
adding a few more 2nd rds and admitedly pressing some of these a tad and should know better but it only comes around once a year.
oly 72 hole cont
Leonard -120 vs Verplank
2nd rd
Sluman -110 over Hoch
Hoch's paltery 275 yd drive ave and 33 putts bad comination here.

Damn the rain, came back from the pub early to watch the end of the golf and find it pissing down with rain. Anyways, everything seems to be shaping up nicely so a great weekend of major golf can be looked forward to.

Almost at the cut:
72 holes-none determined yet-2nd rd 2-0 props 1-2
2nd rd
Cabrera+100 over Clarke by 3
Sergio-110 over Love by 4
Props
Love +170 miss cut loss
Faldo -115 miss cut loss
36 hole score under 137.5 +100 win

Will update pending as they are completed due to length of list.

3rd rd plays
Cabrera +105 over Harrington @ 5dimes
VJ -108 over Garcia @ 5dimes
Garcia +115 over Mick @ $plays
Mediate +105 over Weir

might add outrights to place if Oly puts some up later.Currently lone outright to place Cabrera is hanging in--so far.

Appears we will not see how this course truely plays this year.
Anyone no of any players left out there are are ultimate trappers of the ball such as Parny.Would think they would be at extreme disadvantage even with lift LPC for this 3rd rd.

Got a little unofficial dog parlay I fancy @ 5dimes

1044038 04/13/02 P 04/13/02
A.CABRERA (3RD RND) +105 P.HARRINGTON (3RD RND) $10.00 $146.28
04/13/02 M.A.JIMENEZ (3RD RND) +100 N.FALDO (3RD RND)
04/13/02 D.CLARKE (3RD RND) -105 M.WEIR (3RD RND)
04/13/02 B.LANGER (3RD RND) -105 J.PARNEVIK (3RD RND

Cabrera -125 vs Jiminez @ $plays looks inviting but will pass and will not give Murph chance to double dip me backing same player in a day as witnessed by Calc who beats no one in rd 1 and and less than handful have better score than him(thru 14)in rd 2.

Mid-point update:

Cink/Calcavecchia WON by 5
Hoch/Calcavecchia LOST by 2
Mediate/Campbell WON by 5
Garcia/Olazabal All Square
Howell/Scott Trails by 4
Price/Montgomerie All Square

Woods finishing position under 5th ... 4th
Highest score under 88.5 LOST (Palmer shot 89)
Norman to miss cut LOST (finished 39th)
Westwood to miss cut LOST (finished 39th)
Woosnam to miss cut WON (finished 79th)
Faxon/Price (putts) All square
Woods/Duval (driving) WON (Duval mc; and Woods was leading by 17 yards anyway)
Couples/Appleby (driving) WON (Appleby mc; and Couples was leading by 6 yards anyway)
McCarron/Singh (driving) LOST (McCarron mc; even though McCarron was leading by 7 yards )
Kelly/Hoch (driving) WON (Hoch mc; and was leading by 3 yards anyway)
Duval/Singh (putts) LOST (Duval mc; and was trailing by 0.14 putts/hole)
Parnevik/Janzen (putts) WON (Janzen mc; and was leading by 0.04 putts/hole anyway)
Langer/Leonard (putts) Leads by 0.13 putts/hole

Garcia 4th
Singh 1st
Love 13th

Good position at the halfway point with Singh leading by one, Garcia just four behind and Love two shots further back having been the 1st round leader. Could have been an extremely good situation on the matchups/props ... Hoch had been ahead of Calc when they stood on the 17th tee, Arnie could/should have beaten 89 had he cut out the 4-putts, and Norman and Westwood both make great pars on the last hole - the hardest hole of the tournament so far - to make the cut by a single shot. Looks like the stats props will make this a profitable week though even if the outrights take turns to relinquish the lead.

=====

Updated the stats props now that I have finally read the rules and see that they are decided when a player misses the cut whether he is leading in the stats or not. Meant losing the play on McCarron's driving even though he was winning and I'm sure Vijay's putting stats would have worsened over the weekend

Stanley, are some of the driving/putting props not decided at the cut where one player fails to make it? Surely it is just the same as a regular matchup.

Mid-point:
Silly season choice Stricker bit the dust... as did the Japanese cut quartet... however nicely placed with Olazabal, Singh & Els.... but Goosen looks ominous to me, but for a daft 13th hole he would be in the lead..... can't find an antepost wager on him anywhere!
