Why wouldn't they? The hall of fame coach is dead and the key player in the scandal is in jail for life. How many times has the U been left off the hook? Barry Switzer and Oklahoma? How many rapes did he cover up and how many players did he pay? Did they take his wins away? Hell his starting QB got caught selling cocaine to the FBI years ago and it "went away"

Get off PSU. The Paterno era is over. Let the university live.

If your kid was one of the raped, would you still say, "Why wouldn't they?"

It was outrageous they didn't even miss one game because of this. The program should have been given the death penalty; this move is just par for the course.

Raping boys on campus and covering it up > selling coke. JMO.

I am so sick of the "if that was your kid" bullshit. If that was "my kid" quite possibly ole Jerry would be in a box and I'd be in jail too. The point is the people involved in the scandal are gone...all of them. Why punish the incoming staff and players?

It's nice to see the NCAA finally getting out of their own way on this, even done under the charade of a vote.

Wake up dude and don't be a homer. Look at everything allowed on this campus. Seriously? You two have kids or no?

There is the hall of fame coach putting all in perspective as everything unraveled.

That man's legacy is bigger than any impact you will ever have on this earth.... remember that Poon. Bigger than anyone on this site. Go ahead and dwell on the negative that has tarnished his life. He was a bigger man than you will ever or will ever dream to be.

You are right, his legacy is pretty big. Being an enabler to someone who raped multiple children and used the university's facilities and the football program as a cover is a legacy not many can touch.

Bullshit! He notified the university of the wrongdoing. They (the university police) swept it under the rug. No one in the place wanted it public. Post facts of it otherwise or STFU.

If hedge beats you AGAIN this year are you going to stop posting altogether? It would be a blessing to the group.

So Paterno met his obligations and the fact a pedophile was still using the facilities shouldn't have been a concern to him? Whatever helps you sleep at night.

You sure are riled up tonight. Sorry to touch on such a sensitive subject for you, was just posting a sports story that was in the news today. Pretty sure I didn't even provide any commentary or opinion on the penalties being lifted. Some people just look to start shit wherever they can I guess. May I suggest some deep breathing exercises or perhaps going on a long walk to calm down?

I do have another wager with Hedge, thanks for your concern. The point of last year's wager obviously went over your head. I would be open to a wager with you if you are interested. Already in a couple for the Hippo-Phart though. Did you happen to enter the 1Vice college contest?

Expected response... no facts. Its completely your opinion though and I honor that. You have no idea the impact that Paterno had on Penn State University since the 1960s. Whatever Jerry did he did. I'm not saying it was wrong (it certainly wasn't) But Penn State should not go down for the wrong doing of one man. You can slice it any way you want it. No one will change my opinion. You didn't have to provide any commentary or opinion on the penalties. I know where you were headed with it.
Nice start in the Hippo with -4 BTW. :0074 You are nobody.... remember that.

I am nobody, because the true mark of a man is how he fares after one week of an NFL wagering contest.

Get some rest pal. Wouldn't want you to be late for work tomorrow.

That's true. He didn't do shit. All the penn state alums on the board of the charity, crying on tv when the news broke. The players that used to support the charity and then stopped going because of the abuse allegations. They knew and they didn't do shit.

Congratulations on getting the bowl ban reversed. Hopefull, it doesn't matter.
