They are allowed to have a different opinion....

I like Kickserv but it is rare that he and I agree. On this one we couldn't agree more, and I'm a Penn State guy. If you cover up child molestation, I mean.........just........wow.........

The worst of the worst people on this planet are locked up for good, and even they don't tolerate child molesters.

It is 2016.....marine and PaSprint might still be defending that piece of shit. Hell, PaSprint told me I'd never be the man Joe Paterno was, yes he said that:facepalm:

Joe Paterno was a great man, both marine and PaSprint said that:facepalm:

In all honesty, Paterno did do a lot of great things for a lot of kids. Joe dedicated his life not just to that program, but to the kids in it.

Sadly, that is all overshadowed by one gigantic lapse in judgement. I'm being at least a little kind when I call it a lapse in judgement because I just don't know how you let something like that go unreported.

The entire situation is awful and I'd like to say that it doesn't destroy all the good Paterno did, but I just can't.

I am so sick of the "if that was your kid" bullshit. If that was "my kid" quite possibly ole Jerry would be in a box and I'd be in jail too. The point is the people involved in the scandal are gone...all of them. Why punish the incoming staff and players?

There is really something wrong with you holy shit.

1976? How about 1971....from CBS Sports:

CNN reported Friday that Joe Paterno knew of a 15-year-old boy who was allegedly raped by Sandusky in a Penn State bathroom in 1971. The victim, referred to as Victim A in the story, says Sandusky came up behind him in a bathroom, wrestled him to the ground and raped him.....Victim A was never interviewed by authorities during Sandusky's trial because he fell outside the statute of limitations, but he did receive a settlement from Penn State acknowledging him as one of Sandusky's victims.

Another story, this one from NBC News, reports that Joe Paterno wasn't the only coach who knew of Sandusky's crimes as far back as the 1970s, but that up to six Penn State assistants were aware.

Citing court documents and sources with information on the case, the story reports that a former Penn State assistant witnessed an incident in the late 1970s, and three other assistants saw inappropriate conduct between Sandusky and young boys in the 1990s. One of the assistants reportedly burst into a coaches meeting and said "You won't believe what I just saw."

i'll chime in, only because I know all you geniuses are chomping at the bit and frothing at the mouth to see what I say.

As you can recall, and I hope you can - I'm of the mindset that the NCAA and the circus that they were, were completely out of line. THey had no business imposing punishment on this matter. it's for the courts to decide.
I'm also of the mindset that you are a bunch of overreaching, morality police when it suits you and you want to be more vocal than the next guy so you seem cooler.

I've said it before, and i'll say it again. Based on the FULL story and timeline, if you want to pin it all on paterno - you need to go way further. You need to burn that whole campus to the ground so you can be happy. You can invalidate the wins of the football team years after the incidents happened.. but you aren't doing anything worthwhile. You should be rallying for people's BS, BA, and Masters degrees to be invalidated because of the taint and cover up by the administration of the entire school involved. Stop picking and choosing who you want to be the guilty party and where you feel like enforcing punishment. Null and void everything and anything that ever remotely touched the school during that time. The students cheered for that criminalistics football program back then. Can you believe it? THEY CHEERED FOR THAT TEAM DURING THEIR GAMES. And you want to let them off scott free? the crimes happened in the locker room by someone that was with a non-profit? So we punish the football program because they benefitted from the cover up? Bullshit. You don't stop there. You punish the entire athletics program because they all benefitted from the cover up. You punish the whole freaking school because they benefit from the athletics programs. You don't get to pick and choose where the buck stops if you are suddenly the morality police.

The most recent information - great to see the jump to accusations and how a snippet turns into guilt. Awesomely done.

This date is 12 years before what had been thought was the earliest known allegation of abuse by Sandusky. The new allegation was revealed in a single line of a court document filed Wednesday -- a judge's order in an ongoing lawsuit brought by Penn State against its former insurance company.
It's unclear what evidence the insurance company had in making these claims. A number of depositions from the victims included as evidence in the case's docket are sealed. The footnotes in the judge's filing cite these depositions as evidence for the abuse allegations.
The new allegation was revealed in a single line of a court document filed
"PMA claims ... in 1976, a child allegedly reported to PSU's Head Football Coach Joseph Paterno, that he (the child) was sexually molested by Sandusky," the judge writes in the order.

Glad to see your delusion on the topic is as steadfast as Paterno's silence was.

Time changes nothing for marine......he defended Paterno then backed off, then tried to change subject, and still won't admit he was dead wrong about Paterno.

Same old same old.

Maybe I'll post some threads where marine said Joe did nothing wrong.

You want Paterno stricken from history books for not fighting hard enough to have action taken when he reported a crime. Because Paterno led the football team, you want the entire football program to be erased.
The School Administration helped to cover things up.
The Penn State Police Unit helped to cover things up.
The foster parents didn't press the issue either.

Tell me why you don't want those parties, and the groups under them to receive the same punitive measures when they were in even stronger positions to take action?

Seriously, one legitimate well thought out reason why you are asking for different standards to be held. That's all I am asking for. A legitimate reason why.

Not really, but glad you took the time.

No one wants the degrees. Just want the program to be killed. Serves no purpose and can serve as a reminder of what happens when you leave oversight to one person and that person is awful.

I'll go one better. I'll post a thread where you say it's smart to wait until you have the facts before you pass judgment.

UFC will wait and see what happens. Not the best idea to fire someone until ya get all the facts.

No matter what happens........it won't be as bad as Jeremy Jackson. Remember him from The Ultimate Fighter?

I think he was the guy that jumped the fence and got kicked off the show? If only he didn't jump the fence:scared

I think he got 25 years.....could be wrong on that, but a long time.:scared

forcible rape, kidnapping to commit another crime, first-degree residential burglary, assault with a firearm, dissuading a witness by force or threat, and criminal threats.......FUCK:scared

ok fine......Jackson is ahead of Nick Diaz......barely

You are still worried about people taking too big of a stick/punishment to the football/athletic side of things. It's obvious that you can't comprehend the people that are the most offended by this, and that is a rather large group of people with pretty normal ideals and values, realize there are bigger issues with this matter than whether wins exist or are vacated in a record book.

No one arguing against Paterno is not on the side of justice/punishment happening for others involved. You think you are being cute by arguing that degrees awarded by the university should be null and void. In my mind that is the equivalent of Hedgehog arguing that allowing same-sex marriages could eventually lead to a human marrying an animal. An asinine response because you have no legit way to defend your stance on the matter.

But let's hear another one of your retread arguments on this. Like Barry Switzer is just as bad as Paterno because he knew of his players using cocaine.

So now you have the facts are you going to admit you were wrong about Joe? Or is Joe still a solid individual? Or are you just going to switch the subject and pretend you never said it?

By the way you were saying Joe was good guy even after the "facts were out".

I'm sort of hoping they do, so then we can kill Notre Dame off holding the same standard. Not only are they sex crimes, but they're racist too. Complete with cover up and everything.
