How long do we have to make our selections when it is our turn? I have never done an online draft. 2-3 minutes I am assuming?

Usually it is a 2 min drill wich i think is pretty fast as i woudnt mind at all having 3-4 min.... However, in our league the current set up is just 60 sec...:scared :( I've pm Agent about this craziness but havent heard about him... I know he doesnt want us to THINK really when making a pick but 60 sec... C'mon....:sadwave: :scared

from the looks of it -we'll be partaking in two LIVE drafts with agent inputting the rosters later -after drafts are complete - that is unless he dicides against that process and assigns a time/date for online draft to take place

even then still, in either case will be tough pulling together 24(12 per time) people on same schedule

what is the plan?

What if we don't make the online draft? Will the next available player be given? Can we fill out the draft sheets at ESPN that are for our league?

Live draft on ESPN. Drafts will be the week prior to week 1, we will draft that Saturday. I will set those up this week. It's not really that tough. It's about the easiest thing you can do. You just log-in to ESPN and it takes you there. Once I set it up you can practice I think.

WTF do you need more than a minute for? NO WAY are you getting 3-4 christ that would take a year. Maybe 2 minutes but that is it for sure.

What if i had a Draft Board during our draft and i put stickers on it????:nono::thefinger In all the league i'm in it varies from 2 to 4 min and it is part of the fun so even though it last longer it doesnt matter as the beer and the trash talk is good!!! 60 sec isnt fun at all.. no time to do anything:nono: At least, set it up for 2 min, i will have to hire 2 ladies to run the stickers if you're at 1 min...:mj07: :0corn

Guys, there would be nothing better than for all of us to get together for BEER and do this draft live, but unfortunately it can't work. The next best thing is a live on-line draft.

Almost all on-line drafts give you a minute to select your player, to which all players are ranked in catergories ALL, QB, RB, WR and so on. Click the player you want and he goes to your team. It is as simple as one can get. My main league is via Yahoo and we have been doing it this way for years. Quick and Painless.

PLEASE go to CBS Sports and run a mock draft in their fantasy tab to get a feel. Pretty simple. If you can't make the draft for whatever time Agent picks, either have someone do it for you or PRE-RANK your players.

Now Agent, put down the peanut butter and kindly set up a time for us. Thank you.

live online draft is easily the best way to go about it. if by chance you know you wont be making the draft time, simply pre-rank your players if you want, putting them in the order you would want selected. as the higher ranked players from your list are drafted, it defaults to the next highest on your board to select when your turn comes around.

of course there are disadvantages to this format as there are always runs on positions that will find you "out of position" to get someone you would have wanted. for example; no one is drafting WR's and all of a sudden someone outta the blue takes a TE then the following 4-5 guys take TE's and the last TE you would want is available come your turn--though you have a QB or WR ranked higher--it will take either the QB or WR first until that position is filled eventually finding the last good TE gone well before you had envisioned any TEs being taken.

with simple bench players, its possible if you load your baord with a particular postion heavy from the offset you could have an abundance of that position if it falls right.

ideally, you would be there--though understandably people have lives/families/trips to go on... so i'm led to believe.

I really do not want to "rank my players" and let the damn computer pick them.... It takes all of the fun out of the draft and plus it will put me at a disadvantage (or anyone else choosing that method) when there's a run on a position, as mentioned above.

Is Labor day weekend set in stone??? That just seems like a bad weekend.... Maybe I am alone, but i have family things going on that weekend. I would imagine that there are others who plan to travel, camp (that's what I'm doing, which means no internet access), or just spend time with family....

Let's aim for two weeks before the beginning of the season....

I'm good with any day, any time except Saturday August 29th. I planned the league I help run's draft for that Day at my house so it wouldn't intervene with Agents draft. Agent, I feel for you man, it took me a long time just to get my 12 man league to all agree on a date and time. Can't imagine 24 people.

next Sun afternoon?

next Sun afternoon?

August 23rd, 2009 4pm cst

I feel for you Agent, maybe this can help?
I understand the whole traveling thing for everyone and its a pain in the ass to try and schedule a time for 24 people, but this might be a good time considering most people aren't traveling if kids are going back to school in the next couple weeks, its a Sunday when most everyone is resting, maybe watching the TX Rangers sneak into the playoffs :mj07: ,plus its before Labor Day and all the hoopla.

He's not going make all of us happy. I would do an evening during the week, Tuesday-Wednesday September 1-2 or 8-9, at 9 EST. Be done with it. Enough notice to hopefully get your schedule righted. Either make it, pre-rank, or get a friend to draft for you. At most, this draft should only take 1.5 hours.
