Today was a very weird day. Two guys kicked the hell out of the course and all the others got their ass kicked.
Micheel played AWESOME up until 16-BUT he showed that he can fold. Campbell was great and he missed at least 3 other short putts that could have put him way in front. No doubt in my mind the choice between the two is Campbell BUT...
I believe that someone else will win. The obvious other choice is Weir but I think Els has a good shot. Oly has Weir at +380 and Els +800 and a good field play as well.
Tiger and Mick were VERY disappointing. Pressure off-I expect Tiger to shoot 68 Sunday.
Sunday is going to be gorgeous-less humid and dry. Course will be at its hardest and many are drained. In playing matchups-I really like the guys who played well today. Cejka-Andrade to name a few.
I was hoping to see Tiger or Phil coming down 18 with it on the line. But I promise that the last 3 holes WILL decide this. The guys who have not won before NEED to have a cushion or watchout.
I am going way out and saying someone from the back will win.
Els-Funk or Weir.
Enjoy

3rd rd results 2-0

Weir/ Mick win
Couples/ M Campbell win

4th rd
Baird +105 over Cejka @ $plays
Furyk -115 over Mick @ $plays

Baird along with C Campbell are only 2 players in field to rank top 10 in both total driving and GIR's as previously stated. He also enjoys over 2 stroke edge on final rd scor ave in this match 70.07 to 72.20.

Furyk has almost 3 stroke final rd scor ave on Mick 68.81/72.31 ranking 2nd vs Micks 164th. Also liked line on Weir (-125) against mick but asking for 3 in a row is a little much and primary concern is this situation is perfect to take Weir out of his normal controled game plan.Furyk should be free wheeling from his position.

----and thanks for link I.P. but I had found another.Have seen nothing like PGA scoreboard. You can't scroll to bottom score without screen reloading.

Pretty amazing,I can't say I can ever recall when even par 5's did not play under par in a tourney.Love this layout---Tiger Proof:) -------and speaking of Tiger why does he flail so hard (spinning around ect)in rough when no one else does. 1st time I've seen him lose composure as I view those antics as an antimated excuse for prelude to failure. Could it be he has found one element he can not mentally control---a woman?????
2002 majors none over par -24 collectively
2003 majors all over par +15 and still counting

Chad Campbell

Hi fellas, I don't post too much anymore but I always visit and want you to know, you've made me some bucks this summer in this forum.

Anyway, before tee off on Thursday, I took 6 long shots to win and am lucky enough that Chad Campbell was one of them at 80-1.

Now, I need your help to decide how to handle things today. Do I lay some off on Micheel at 3-1? Do I include Weir at 7-2? How often do golfers blow a 3 shot lead on the final day of a tournament? Of a major?

What about Clark, 4 shots back but with 3 guys to pass?

And does Els have a realistic shot.....5 strokes back but more importantly with 4 guys in front of him?

Thanks in advance for your insight!

Good luck out there today,

Tiger

With a few matchups pending it looks like I'll be down about 1-5 units on matchups in this event if I stop now. I've read all the news, but I just wasn't real keen on doing any research today, and since none of the offerings were immediately irresistable, I just dabbled with a parlay to keep things interesting:

PARLAY for 1* @ 5.54/1 @ 5 dimes:
Haas(-115) over Austin w/ Gamez(-115) over Pampling w/ Howell(-115) over Scott

I enjoyed your observations on Tiger, DTB. I usually groan about his antics on the tee box, but he has a full arsenal.

I was surprised on Saturday at how accessible (and holeable) many of the hole locations seemed compared to Thursday . . . This season has been fairly exceptional from the start, and it would be nice to add another chapter today . . . I hope it's anybody except Singh, so that's exactly the guy I'm worried about.

Whats up tiger. Just now seeing your quesion. Chad Campbell hit the ball tee to green better than anyone. Never know how 1st time chance of winning tourney let alone major will play on him.
If I were in your shoes I would take at least 25% of anticipated winnings and lay it off on others in running. Would not leave out Weir-Els-Singh for sure and prob include Micheel. Would lay just enough in case Chad falters that you come out a little ahead. You have already made the critical and wisest choice on Chad @ 80/1.
You deserve to make a little cheese regardless of outcome:)

---or you can still take field vs Campbell which might be easiest and safest @ 5 Dimes

Sunday on the links...

Sunday on the links...

Well, at least I had a profitable day in my matches on the links on my home course...it has been an up and down PGA for me, especially BAD Saturday...I did play a "live bet" [not posted] during Tigers round on Saturday, after 9 holes, when he was at +4, which BET365 had at +162 for shooting Under 74. I figured he couldn't play any worse, and he ended up with 73...didn't ease the pain too much, however...[2-13]

Going a bit light today...I noticed Tiger was missing many greens with short irons yesterday...a 73 was almost unbelievable from some of the spots he left himself...he apparently needs courses that have a bit more fairways, ala Augusta and Bethpage, last year...fade these...

1. Alex Cejka +120 [74-69-68] over Baird [[73-71-67]... [2 units] - I think Baird played over his head a bit yesterday, and will back up some today...although his scores are improving daily...

2. Woody Austin +110 [72-73-69] over Rod Pampling [66-74-73] - Did Pampling have his best round first - Yep...[2 units]

3. Scott McCarron -120 [74-70-71] over Herron [69-72-74]

4. Luke Donald +162 [73-72-71] over Harrington [72-76-69]

5. Charles Howell +150 [70-72-70] over Vijay [69-73-70]

6. Adam Scott -120 [72-69-72] over Pernice [70-71-72]

7. Loren Roberts -120 [70-73-70] over Rod Pampling [66-74-73] - [2 units]

Good luck...IP

Re-Cap of Sunday's plays....

1. Cejka [69] over Baird [81] :)

2. Austin [75] over Pampling [73] :(

3. McCarron [71] over Herron [71] - push

4. Donald [72] over Harrington [73] :)

5. Howell [73] over Singh [79] :)

6. Scott [75] over Pernice [80] :)

7. Roberts [71] over Pampling [73] :)

Re-couped a bit - not a bad day at all...

I wish I had Chad for the Win. I have him in a play against Lonard.

I think Ernie has a good chance for a come back.

I would ride Chad all the way to the bank.

4TH Round Play

4TH Round Play

Ernie Els OV/Mike Weir-1.35 1 Unit

Just have a feeling Ernie will mount a charge for the lead. I liked how he played yesterday and has been consistant.

Thanks for the replies DTB and Steve.....some good advice.

I decided to take approx 25% of the Campbell anticipated win and spread it out over the next 10 golfers on the Leader Board.

So, I'm still cheering for Campbell for the biggest payoff, but I've covered my bases for a smaller profit should anyone else who starts the day within 6 shots end up being the PGA Champion.

Thanks again for your help!

Good Luck Tiger Campbell is currently 1 down with 3 to go.

Remarked about bang for buck on Haas and Funk in weak field last week and they spit the bit --and then follow up in one of toughest fields of year:rolleyes:
Really enjoyed this tourney but sure surprised to see vets fall today and newbies so composed.

Yes well done to Whalers Rule.Fantastic!!
I think I also said strong showings from Micheel and Campbell. But did I back them, NO I did not. It is so annoying when the man you backed the week before wins or places at a tasty price the next week. It is about the fifth time this year. I put up Micheel in last weeks tourney and he did threaten at stages to place but faded away.
Still another week to come and lets all drink to Whalers Rule.

Break-even event and given the look of the leaderboard, I'm thankful for that! Donald was the only winner with the outrights and would certainly not have expected Cejka to have won this market. Great course, but roll on a normal event!

It is certainly a record for the golf forum and I would imagine it is a record for a post on a single play posted at MadJacks :D

Maybe RAYMOND has hit a parlay at higher odds for baseball - I know he has done personally, but I don't know if it has been in a post at MadJacks.

Outstanding

Kjls04202 must also warrant huge credit for listing Allenby, Micheel and Chad Campbell as three to watch this week, but only making Allenby an official play :(
