we see that NFL players arrest records are lower than the national average. But that would be expected from an group of rich folks
the domestic violence arrest rates in NFL are still lower than average, but much higher than the other lower-than-average rates. But for a group of rich folks, it is through-the-roof sky high.
the NFL clearly needs to address this problem much more.
Tho one of the reasons, perhaps a big one, it is so high relative to other groups of wealthy folks is that the players are newly rich and thus have not had the time to learn new cultural norms, the value of high-priced advice and legal representation, learn new expectations of behavior from thier crowd - perhaps because they spend time still with the old crowd and it's ways...
anyway, the real question is how will this affect our bets Thursday? I think Ravens will use the game to get their focus off the distractions and will concentrate and play harder, use tough winning play to help the fans and thier own minds. Hard to prepare on a short week with all these distractions, but how much to they really need to prepare for such a well-known foe? I think I will tease Ravens with BYU...
