We also sometimes have problems with [his brother] Nate, whom I have a great relationship with, in getting him to do his p.r. What basically happened is, Nick freaked out. He disappeared. He told me he couldn?t handle the pressure of the main event. It wasn?t that he couldn?t fight it or wouldn?t have fought it, but all the responsibilities that come with fighting in the main event, he said he couldn?t deal with that. The fighting part is the easy part to him.?

Having demoted Nick Diaz from the main event to the co-main event against BJ Penn, White is convinced that regardless of the circumstances, a Diaz vs. Penn fight is one destined for greatness.

Dana tells us nothing. So he's willing to demote him to the co-main event in which is probably a fight that the hardcore fans are more excited to see. Diaz wins, you have to pit him in a fight for the title next. So, Dana, what did you really do? NOTHING.

Guarantee nobody is buying or not buying this ppv because Diaz didn't or doesn't show up for a fucking presser.

I just don't understand this at all. It is obvious that Zuffa is running Strikeforce into the ground like Pride but why not make money until the Showtime contract is up then fold it? This was a very good card that had an advertisment budget of about ten dollars. The buys for this kind of card are a disgrace. I didn't see one commercial for this event. Is this what Zuffa is gonna do? Say they have to shut it down because Strikeforce is not getting numbers when a five year old can see that they are undermining it :shrug: I mean these are their fighters. Wouldn't u want new fans to get to know these fighters? Strange.

ps- To answer your question about if GSP had a choice on if the fight was on or not? Um, you really don't think that Dana White canceled the fight, re-scheduled Condit without even mentioning or running anything past GSP and his camp, do you? If so, you've got to be the most naive fucker on the planet. This isn't the opening fight on the pre-lims. This is the MAIN EVENT to your 2nd biggest draw in the sport for crying out loud.

As far as Diaz wanting nothing to do with GSP. How in the world did you come to that conclusion? LOL As far as I can tell, GSP was the one crying that "it wasn't fair" that Diaz didn't show up for a presser. GSP never once said to the media "come on, I wanna fight this dude Diaz, we both signed up for it." No, you know why? Because in fighting Carlos Condit, GSP gets 2 things. #1 an easier fight. #2 the same amount of training and prep-time that Condit gets, and he doesn't have to complain about "getting less training" because Diaz was training instead of showing up for the presser.

Where did I ever say that he was going to tell Dana what to do? Dana isn't going to make his champion, golden boy, spoon fed jewel just fight someone without running it by him. Why didn't GSP stand up and say, no Dana, I've been training so hard and I've wanted this Diaz fight for so long(like he has said in previous interviews), and I really want to fight Nick. Lets work this whole media mess out, but I want to fight Diaz?

Why didn't he do that? Do you honestly think Dana woulda said, Fuck you Georges? Because just like everyone on here with a brain has said, Condit is the wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy easier fight. Just look at the styles. Condit's only chance is a lucky KO, and we all know that aint happening. He was getting his ass handed to him by an inexperienced Rory before Rory gassed late in the 3rd round.

I think either 1 of 2 things happen in this fight. Condit gets destroyed(unlikely), or GSP takes him down at will, pounds him out for 5 rounds.

1st off.........you are the only one who thinks Diaz is a tougher fight. The only one. Find me one member of the MMA media that says Diaz was a tougher fight. Find me one. I can list 12 off the top of my head that say Condit is a way tougher fight. Nick would have got completely dominated. Condit actually has a shot at winning. Again, find me one member of the MMA media that says Condit is a weaker opponent.


2nd.......only you would actually find a way to turn it into an anti-GSP rant.....only you.:facepalm:

Nick is the one who wants nothing to do with GSP, not vice versa.

Like I give a fuck what guys on ESPN say. What does their opinions matter? They're on the show for a reason, and not coaching or fighting. You're probably the dude who sits at the cooler everyday and tells all your buddies about what you heard on ESPN. There are guys on ESPN doing football and baseball and other sports who were ex-players/coaches. Are they experts? If they were so damn knowledgeable then why are they on a tv show and not on the sidelines?

They're no more experts then anyone on this forum. That's the beauty of MMA. It doesn't take a special bread to know what you're talking about(I'd say hence see you, but actually, you really don't know what you're talking about) LMAO.
