2000 DIME ONE AND ONLY
DOUBLE DIGIT BLOWOUT
OF THE MONTH #2

Kansas State -10 over Nebraska

10 and a half Are you serious They should be atleast a 15 point favorite tonight. Just because the Huskers beat a Missouri team with four of their five top scorers suspended and a bad ISU team their last two does NOT mean they can go into Manhattan and be competitive. The Wildcats are 5-1 SU and ATS in their six overall and are 22-8 ATS in their last 30 conference games. They are 29-11 ATS in their last 40 home games against a team with a losing road record. Michael Beasley is probably the favorite along with Kevin Love for freshman of the year, averaging 24.8 and 12.2. He'll have at least that tonight as the 'Cats roll by 30.

also

1000 Dime - Orlando -11 over New Jersey

I don't care if this line is 20 today. The Nets plain stink. They lost by double digits last night at home to the Lakers, and now have to play a Magic team that is a contender in the East. The Nets are 17-38-2 ATS in their last 57 games following a SU loss of more than 10 points, and are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games playing on no rest. They are 3-10 ATS in their last 13 games overall and are 1-6 ATS in their last seven games as an underdog of 5.0-10.5. The Magic, meanwhile, are 7-2 SU and 5-3-1 ATS their last nine. Time for major changes in New Jersey. They'll roll over the Nets tonight at home by 25 or more.

1000 Dime - UNLV + 3.5 over Utah

The Rebels are 17-4 on the year SU, 5-2 on the road as they head to Utah to take on the Utes tonight. They have covered four of their last five conference games, and are 20-7-1 ATS in their last 28 games overall. They are 5-2 ATS in those seven road games this year, including wins over TCU and San Diego St away from home. Wink Adams, the guard from Houston, is averaging 15.9 ppg for the Rebels. He is the glue of the team and is the fuel for what makes UNLV go. As for Utah, they lost 80-54 - by 26 - to UNLV the last time they played. UNLV wins outright on the road tonight, not by 26, but by half that number tonight.

20 Dime

GEORGIA STATE

Take the points with Georgia State tonight as the home dog against Vcu.

Do not be misled by the Panthers record. This team has been extremely competitive this year, with no fewer than six games being decided by one or two points. Georgia State?s average game has been decided by 5.5 points, so you can see how close this team is to breaking out.

They just don?t know how to get over the hump yet.

It?s ok though, because coach Rod Barnes has shown the ability to control the tempo of games and he is also an effective schemer. He has an emerging star in 6-5 junior guard Leonard Mendez, who is averaging 18.5 points per game.

Georgia State won?t be intimidated tonight on its home court, not after coming within two points of Rams in Richmond on January 10.

Take the points with Georgia State as they stay within the number once again.

5 Dime

WIZARDS

Take the points with the Wizards tonight when they host the Spurs.

At first glance this would appear to be a blowout?for San Antonio. Caron Butler is questionable for Washington, who has lost four straight and is being outscored by an average of 16 points during that span.

But San Antonio hasn?t been especially good in the second of back-to-backs this season, failing to cover seven of its last eight.

The Spurs will also be without Tony Parker tonight, who is nursing a left heel injury.

This will be San Antonio?s fifth game of a season-high nine-game road trip.

Take the points with the Wizards as they break out of their slump and keep it within the number at home.

MISSISSIPPI STATE

Take Mississippi State as the home chalk tonight over Alabama.

The Bulldogs had been on fire, winning nine in a row before losing their last two, at Arkansas and a five-point home loss to Tennessee.

Alabama is too erratic to stay within this number tonight and Mississippi State has the advantage in the paint and in the backcourt.

The Bulldogs are 22-8 ATS in their last 30 Wednesday games and 23-11 ATS in their last 34 home games.

Take Mississippi State as the home chalk tonight over Alabama.

3000 Dime Rivalry Lock of the Year

3000 Dime - UNC

The Blue Devils are 0-4 ATS the last four meetings, and have covered just one in their last five at Chapel Hill. They may luck out and take on a Heels team with star guard Ty Lawson. The Heels are 4-0 ATS in their last four games against a team with a winning SU record, while Duke is 0-4 ATS their last four against winning teams. The Heels are 25-7 ATS in their last 32 home games as well. UNC comes off a hard fought OT win at FSU where leading scorer Hansbrough scored 22 points and pulled down 21 rebounds. I love the Tar Heels tonight and they will win by double digits.

1000 Dime - BC

There is one thing the Terps can't deal with - solid perimeter play. Sure, they can go to Vasquez and have him score 20-30, but they cannot defend the outside. Leading scorer Tyrese Rice is averaging a shade under 20 ppg and is dishing out five dimes a game as well. The Eagles are too good to lose their fifth in a row, especially at home. If you look at the numbers and the stats, you wonder why this line is so low. It's because the linemaker knows the Terps can't play much defense and the Eagles can score. BC wins by 10 tonight.

1000 Dime - Oklahoma

The Sooners are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games against a team with a winning road record as they host the Longhorns tonight. They are 5-1 ATS in their last six games as a home favorite of 0.5-6.5 and are 6-2-1 ATS in their last nine games as a favorite, road or home, of 0.5-6.5. As for Texas, they are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games overall. They have dropped four in a row ATS on the road, and got blown out at Texas A&M in their most recent away from home. They get blown out again tonight in Norman against Blake Griffin and the Sooners.

1000 Dime - Duquesne

The Dukes are favored tonight over the Hawks - wait, what? Yes, the line is right, and here's why : the Dukes are 13-7 on the year, and are a solid 9-2 at home. Ricky Jackson averages 19 ppg and four dimes a game as well. His Dukes have dropped two in a row, but still will have too much offense for the Hawks. They rank fifth in the nation at 84.4 ppg, and go against a St. Joe's team that is ranked 111th in the nation in total defense. The Dukes cover the one and a half easy at home tonight with a double digit win.

FOR TODAY: FOR TODAY: MIAMI vs DETROIT

SYKE-O-ANALYSIS: With all the drama going on with Miami, we look to feed off their energy. The Heat allow 100 ppg, and this is where it gets better as the Pistons are 13-5 ATS when their opponent allows 100 points in the game. The Pistons in their last game held the Mavs to 67 points and 30% shooting, one of the Mavs worst, if not the worst this season, and yes it gets better, every time the Pistons hold any team in their previous game to 35% or lower as they're 3-0 ATS in that specific situation. With the Pistons turning up the defensive side against the Mavs, look for them to play a little more lose against this horrible Heat team as both teams play loose defense. Watch this game have no trouble going over. Don't get psyched by those linesmakers, because the Pistons play a slow half court game. Thing is the Heat are going to play wreckless and playing wreckless can be trouble for the Pistons. Lets get back on track and take this as a 2* play, as I easily have this game forecast at 189-193.

771/772 Rice @ East Carolina over 127.5 (1-unit)

The Owls are currently #71 in the league in pace/tempo with an average of 70.5 possessions per game. Their last five games have been rather up-tempo: 71.43, 70.65, 85.40, 71.50 and 77.50. The Pyrates are a middle of the pack pace team and the Owls usually play these teams to a 70+ possession game.

The Pirates have averaged 67 ppg in games against board teams and the Owls defense is just average. The big issue is that the Owls are really bad on offense ranking #339 in offensive efficiency. In this game the Owls get to face a Pirate team that has allowed conference opponents to shoot 46.7% from the field and is last in CUSA in defensive efficiency. Also what keeps the Owls scoring down is the fact they turn the ball over way too much ranking #339 in turnover percentage. They will be going up against a Pirate team not that proficient at causing turnovers.

In what should be a 140+ possession game with the Owls coming off two straight games where they shot 45%+ I?m taking a shot on the over this short number

Wake Forest

Great game tonight in the ACC, as the Yellow Jackets take on the Demon Deacons in Winston-Salem. The Deacs are on a roll ATS wise, 5-0 ATS in their last five games overall. They are 7-1-2 ATS in their last 10 home games including two nice home wins their last two, over FSU by 17 and a hard fought two point win over Miami FL. James Johnson is a big force inside, averaging 14.5 ppg and 8.2 rpg as well. Last year, these two went to multiple OT, with Wake winning by a bucket at GA Tech. Tonight, they win by 10 at home.

Notre Dame

The home team has covered just two of nine between Hall and ND as the Irish travel to take on the Pirates at the Rock. Luke Harangody has bursted on the scene, scoring 20.4 ppg and pulling down 10 boards a contest as well. The Irish are 4-1 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning SU record, and are 26-11-1 ATS in their last 38 road games against a team with a winning home record. They are 27-13-1 ATS in their last 41 road games and take on a Hall team that they beat 88-76 last year. They win by double digits again tonight over the Pirates.

Minnesota

If the Gophers can go on the road and beat the Wolverines, then why can't they go into Northwestern and beat up on a bad Wildcats team? The Wildcats are losers of four of five, and have gone 0-8 in the conference. At home, they have gotten buried by Michigan, Penn State and Michigan State. Enter Minnesota, who comes off a bad home loss to Wisconsin. The Gophers are not an elite team like Michigan State or Indiana, but they are certainly not a bottom feeder like Northwestern. The Gophers win tonight by double digits in the suburbs of Chicago.

Ohio

The road team is 5-1 ATS the last six between the Bobcats and Eagles as Ohio travels to take on Eastern Michigan. The Bobcats are 6-1 SU ATS in their last seven games overall, including wins over Kent State, Buffalo and Miami Ohio. Leon Williams is a force down low, averaging a double double at 16.5 and 10 a game. The Eagles are 1-4 SU and ATS their last five overall, including a bad loss to Akron on the road by 19. Ohio is clearly the better team and will prove it tonight, winning by double digits.

Georgia Tech over Wake Forest* by 12

You're Wake Forest. Your two leading scorers are
freshmen, one of them a forward. Your third-leading
scorer -- a guard -- is out with an injury. Your 3-point
shooting is only 29.6%, and your free-throw shooting
is only 66%. A deeper opponent is coming into your
building and Tech coach Paul Hewitt has more options
in his match-ups than your first-season head coach
Dino Gaudio. The other coach also has 6-8, 235 soph
Zach Peacock to play against your 6-8 freshman leading
scorer James Johnson, and shared point guard duties
for being strong in the late-game. What can you be
tonight, other than...exposed?

LAS VEGAS TECH REPORT (LVTR)

Play: NEW YORK KNICKS -3.5
Comments: LAS VEGAS TECH REPORT (LVTR) SELECTION: NEW YORK KNICKS -3.5

We are catching the Pacers on a back to back. Oneil is is out and Tinsley who is the driving force to that team is seeing limited time due to recovery fron an recent injury. Knicks maybe a bad team, but they have been stepping up lately and showing a will to win. Pacers are 1-6 after back to back home losses.

Play: BOWLING GREEN -2.5 (CBB)
Comments: LAS VEGAS TECH REPORT (LVTR) SELECTION: BOWLING GREEN -2.5 (CBB)

Central Michigan is 0-6 ATS off a home win against a conference rival while Bowling Green is now14-4 ATS in all games this season. Bowling Green is 4-0 at home in MAC games, winning by 3-13-3 and 4 points. They are playing decent defense giving up an average of 57 ppg in their last four games. Central Michigan is 0-4 on the road vs the MAC conference losing by 13-11-20 and 15 points. They're 0-3 as a road dog in lined games.

Play: UNC CHARLOTTE +5.5 (CBB)
Comments: LAS VEGAS TECH REPORT (LVTR) SELECTION: UNC CHARLOTTE +5.5 (CBB)

This one maybe a little close for comfort for you guys that bite your nails but we feel that these two teams are evenly matched and Dayton is giving up too much here for the quality of team they have shown. UNC Charlotte is 4-1 against the spread versus Dayton and they seem to respond with bouncebacks after a loss going 11-2 in road games after a home loss. They have covered four of their last five games and they split two road games beating LaSalle. Dayton has lost four of their last five games, losing the last three on the road by 26-17-4 points. A-14 home favorites are 9-16 against the spread showing a home disadvantage against a strong road underdog in UNC Charlotte.
