3rd Round
Jerry Smith -105 vs. Camilo Villegas @ 5dimes

Smith has played very well on this course before, so seeing his name high on the leaderboard isn't a total surprise. Couple that with Villegas probably not shooting close to 64 again today leads me to believe I have an edge here.

With much weaker wind today and so many players jammed together between 6 under and 3 under, it should make for an interesting weekend.

Furyk is very good in this position -- leading after the second round -- and has closed the door and won twice before in his career. Once in Hawaii and once in an U.S. Open. He also finished second last year when Harrington had the great putt at the Barclay's, so I agree with him being the favorite and no outrights interest me at this point though I did think about Smith.

Halftime-- here are wagers @ oly--in answer to your question
Not usually unless it is error as I am sure 5dimes was yesterday.
It wasn't pulled until posted here if fact was still at -118 when posted
A few books where I have come to know lines makers I let them know via email or by certain amount wagered if I think they have suspect line. It has been win/win situation as they give quite a bit of latitude on letting wager stand-then void or adjust line vs a thank you. Might be odd but I have come to view most bookmakers as friend not foe--its the highrollers I worry about. One reason among others I usually wait late to post--or in case of props-- after they have been adjusted or not at all.

T.U. Thanks not merited yet-- but hoping we can get one of 2 of these Maru clan wagers to the house--wish we had privite message activated here where we recreational betters could converse.:)

4th Round 3-ball

Mark Calcavecchia +100 vs. Jeff Gove and Parker McLachlin @ bet365
-- I like the player here and this price is the best of about a half dozen books I checked this morning.

I had no intention of jinxing Furyk yesterday. It is rare to see him play so choppy, especially in good conditions.

Cheers Anders :)

FINAL RESULT: 1-2; +20.44pts

Toms 1st
Howell 53rd
Bryant mc

Not as exciting as the third round, but there were none who could live with Toms once he had complete control of his game over the weekend. The first winning tip is always one of the sweetest of the year, particularly as it eradicates the pressures that arise from a negative P/L total.
