Where it is real F ing COLD
Kap is lucky he plays for a team who is great defensively, well coached, and above average offensive line. He can get away with a lot of crap playing on A Niners team. Put him on a mediocre team and he becomes, well just mediocre

I'd still take him only after Manning, Brady, Brees, Aaron Rodgers and Andrew Luck, maybe Roethlisberger(a little past his prime for me) and Romo, not any one else ahead of him for me, not Eli, not Cam, not Wilson. He is not an all time great we can all agree on that, but he is good and he an Cam are the greatest there's been physically I'd say.

The logic that he plays for a great team, with a great defense, great offensive line, great receivers, blah, blah, blah and that's why he's excelled while being there, is flawed. If that was the case, then why couldn't Alex Smith, who is a pretty damn good QB, deliver while he was there under the same parameters and team?

all you dissing Kappernick after the year he had are just trying to find excuses cause in reality we all know he had another pretty good year. And again this is his second year playing. Seems like hes been in the league for many years but thats just not the case.

Early on in this thread some were trying to make a case for Cutler and terrel pryor being better than Kappernick and by now I think we all know how that turned out and the end of that story.

I'm not a Kappernick supporter but i appreciate what he has done in his short time and can see why Harbaugh chose him over Alex Smith who is also a very good QB.

he actually did...under harbaugh...i believe that even without a normal training camp and a new coach and staff, the 9ers improved to 13-3(on the heels of 6-10 under singletary) and won in the first round of the playoffs vs the saints in 2011......they eventually lost in o.t. to the giants 20-17.......

i`m not arguing against kaepernick...just saying that the difference between harbaugh and singletary was the difference in the 49ers becoming a pwerhouse....obviously harbaugh saw something in kaepernick but i`m not 100% sure they wouldn`t have been very successful with smith under harbaugh......

again,i`m not arguing the merits of kaepernick...just mentioning the success the 49ers had with harbaugh compared to the singletary era ...:toast:

I guess this more part of an NFL problem, these quarterbacks above are elite the rest I guess are mediocre, it will be interesting to see how Foles turns out

Alex Smith brought his team to an NFC championship game losing on a fumbled punt by his returner. The following year they are undefeated or lose 1 game then he gets hurt and they go with KAP. Odds are likely they make the Super Bowl with Smith

I would take him over Ponder and ....... Cutler.

The bad thing about Joy is that she has talent but does her best to blow the game. Vikes had no business being in that game and she almost gave it away

Yes a weak arm, just because you can throw the ball far doesn't mean you have a strong passing arm. Take a look at the wonderful throws he makes on any deep outs you can possibly find. There aren't many, trust me.

I think the guy is overrated and you guys don't. Good for you.

I would rather have Cutler in a heartbeat. Cutler can audible, throw the deep ball with accuracy. Yes he had two picks yesterday, one a tipped ball and the other on a fantastic defensive play on a deep ball. I suppose you would rather have Kap than Eli after his four picks too? The thread has nothing to do with any other qb but Colin. If I want to run the ball, I have a halfback to do that. Kaepernick isn't even as good as Pryor. Kap has no touch on his passes and cannot for the life of himself, read a defense. Which is exactly why his coach doesn't allow him to audible. He sucks. Period.

Hope this helps,
FDC

CUTLER ? Oh jeezus. Bringing that POS into this discussion is a joke. I'll take ELI anyday.:142smilie

I didn't bring Cutler up, someone else did. It's all right there in writing. Have someone read it to you if you need to.

Also, Cutler is 2-0 and in sole possession of first place in his division. Neither Eli or Krapernick can say that.

Your so full of shit. He was one of the worst rated quarterbacks in the league this year and had the distinction of being the worst from week 2 to 10 or some shit like that. If you think that is a pretty good year than who gives a shit if you think Alex Smith is good. You don't know what you are talking about in the first place.

The only person trying to make a case for Cutler is you. Yes, you are a Kaepernick supporter. For fucks sake, when you come out in a public forum supporting him and his play for the year stating he had a pretty good year................well that pretty much makes you a supporter.

Fuck!

U r an unrepentant sinner. He was very close to going to the Super Bowl in his first two years as a starter. He will only get better. His rushing ability was a huge factor in this game, and I think he's a much better passer than u do. As u point out constantly, everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I think it's as strong a yes that he s great as you think it's a no. I had a enough talent in football to have been in an nfl camp and have watched every Super Bowl and the two nfl championships before that, so I feel mine is not an unstudied opinion. Nothing personal, u r very funny and I know u r a nice guy, just don't see this the same as u do. Good luck,

I still stand by my comments, I would take him over Cutler and Ponder. When I first wrote it, it was a dig at a friend who loves the Bears and has, had, or has had a love affair for the one Joy Cutler.

Now I ask you all a question about Kap. Does he make the players around him better? Or do they make him better? I choose the second.

9:35 AM PT -- 49ers General Manager Trent Baalke tells TMZ Sports ... "The 49ers organization is aware of the recent media report regarding Colin Kaepernick and is in the process of gathering the pertinent facts.?
update-grey-gray-bar
San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick is being investigated for a possible sexual assault at a hotel in Miami, Florida ... law enforcement sources tell TMZ Sports.
We're told the alleged incident took place at the Viceroy Hotel in Miami earlier this month.

Our sources tell us ... the investigation is in its "beginning stages" and no charges have been filed against anyone at this point.

We reached out to both Colin's agent and the San Francisco 49ers -- so far, no comment from either one.

Kaepernick doesn't appear to be fazed by the allegations -- he was out partying at a Miami nightclub early Sunday morning with a smile on his face.

Colin was at the Viceroy as recently as April 5th -- when he hung out with a wedding party near the pool at the hotel. People in the wedding party tell us Colin couldn't have been nicer and "made the bride's weekend."
