Not to dump too much salt in that gaping wound of a qb that is Kaepernick, but could my point have been proven any better than the horrible throws on deep outs? Just awesome. The one in the end zone that was 7 yards out of bounds. .... horrible

seems like you have this pos nailed!!!!
I have never thought and still don't believe he's a good NFL qb. He's a single read, run first guy. While he has great athletic ability, he's a poor pocket passer. His release is quicker and he's not a lefty but he's Tim Tebow with tattoos.

it`s interesting....take a guy like rg3(i`ve defended him in here)... has a great 1st year and then looks totally ordinary once half of his game(the running threat) is taken away.....it`s looking like he`ll never get his mobility back and seems a bit brittle to boot....obviously struggling without half his repertoire....

it`s certainly looking like in a similar circumstance, kaepernick(who isn`t the most consistent guy even with his wheels) might be in an even worse career situation if forced to become a pocket qb.......

I think Russell Wilson has better instincts than both, but he`s short....I wonder how he`d fare as a strictly pocket qb?.....my guess is his lack of height would ruin him....

I`m trying to think of a qb with mobility being an integral part of his game who would do well in a more traditional drop back qb role...... maybe steve young back in the day?....having trouble thinking of many others....I don`t believe that vick or Cunningham would have been good enough to be consisitently effective starting drop back/pocket qbs`....

Fran Tarkenton was a good pocket passer as well as a mobile quarterback. Elway and Doug Williams.

yeah,i think tarkenton is as good and example as I can think of.....I never considered doug Williams much of a running qb(admittedly,I`m a little fuzzy on Williams...you might be right)....

yeah,he had a couple years where he put up decent rushing numbers..not quite rg3/kaepernick or wilson numbers consistently(running is a huge part of their game)......but 370 ain`t bad....and williams did become strictly a pocket passer later in his career......so he sort of fits the criteria...

remember him as the super bowl mvp(but I remember timmy smith more)......shocked that smith didn`t get mvp....

Scholarly use of a time out by colin just now instead of taking the delay of game penalty. What the hell is he thinking?
