I felt they played that way because they knew the 49ers were not going to do shit on O. After Wilson started out so badly and they saw Kap was a liability for the 9ers, I think they decided not to push anything, let the bad 9ers O v Seattle D be on the field as long as possible.

:toast: ..makes sense...surely worked out well.....i`m a sort of closet seattle fan...

i`m anxious to see what the seattlt d` does away from home vs a potent offense....they look fantastic so far...

Let's revisit Cutler and Kaep in December. See who's winning and putting up numbers then. My money sure isn't on gutless Jay.:0074

Not sure why people can't accept mediocrity of their sports heroes without trying to bring someone else down with them? You can revisit their records, yards, touchdowns, and wins every week if you want, I don't care. I am sure Jay will be ahead in all categories for most if not the rest of the year but that is because I am a Bears fan. I don't see Kaepernick through rose colored glasses. He's inaccurate, (I'll accept that as a better description), and slow to pick up defenses. He is athletic, I am not denying that but so is Vick, so is Geno, so is EJ, so is Russel, so is Pryor, and RG3, and Romo, and Luck, and I am sure there are some I have forgotten about. How many Super Bowls have any of them won?
Again, I am speaking about the qb from San Francisco and my thoughts on what I think is an overblown perception of his skills. That is it. Not talking about tse-tse flies or water buffaloes. I am not talking about surfing or tobacco. I am not talking about anyone except ONE person, so quit trying to make it about you you you. Christ!

...almost as silly as buying into the notion that he's a bad QB based on one game -- against a great D -- which plays incredibly at home -- where they set a decibel record for noise (which tends to disrupt offensive play-calling including audibles). :mj07:

I'm not sure many QBs -- short of Peyton, maybe Rodgers -- would have done much better last night. Not to mention, SF currently has no real speed threat either in the backfield or wide. Boldin is great, but possession only and Gore is adequate but certainly not explosive anymore. Until they develop another WR, or involve Hunter more, or wait for Manningham/Crabtree... I think 49ers are not as potent on offense. That said, they're still pretty good and certainly good enuf to win 10.

Anyway, back to your assertion: :0002

I never said he was bad. That was your "assertion", not mine. I said he is overvalued and not as good as people have made him out to be. Seattle has had ONE winning season in the last five years and they are incredible at home? Two of those seasons they won 5 games? Incredible? Now that is a laughable assertion.

Hope this helps,

he, like the other running qb's are only good IF they run...when they choose to stay in the pocket they lose 75% of their effectiveness...however that makes them useless..too much worry about a FRANCHISE qb getting hurt while running-thats why he is the FRANCHISE qb..

I think he is good. Will he be great? I'm not sure, but I would guess not, some of the QB's we have seen in the past that run and pass a lot and do the old showboating thing on the field either get hurt or don't amount to much. Look at Vick, I would say he has only been good in his career, not great. There are others as well, Randall Cunningham was pretty good, but not great. There are many others that will take the path of being good, not great in the future like RG3, Russell Wilson, and Cam Newton. Just my two cents.

I would rather have Cam Newton as my franchise qb than Kaepernick  I can name 15 quarterbacks I would rather have than Kaepernick, he is grossly overrated in my opinion. I bet against him in the Super Bowl and won easy, all he can do is run, Vince Young 2 is all he is, will be out of the league in less than 5 years, give the NFL teams more tape on him and then you will see he is just pedestrian

Try reading the entire thread before commenting on a post. Glad I amuse you. You may find this hysterical, Pryor and Kap are both 1-1!!!! You make a strong argument oh sage all knowing football person who I don't know or care about. I watch football all the time, did you know that the 10th football game ever played was not even covered by media. They didn't know that the game would have a mass appeal, but in that same time span you have established an eye for greatness. You alone hold the power to know all there is to know about the capacity for excellence on the football field. You can't even read and comprehend a post correctly but you know more about football than everyone, right? I thought Cam Newton was going to be the best ever? What happened there? Remember the first two games Newton played? They already had his bust in Canton forged by week 3, unfortunately the NFL always adjusts. Or Vick? Or any of the other's that have already tried to be a "running quarterback" and gotten hit long enough to learn to throw from the pocket accurately? Nah, you know everything after 6 starts, your like a not as smart Rainman. If you have an opinion, state it like an adult. Don't populate my fucking threads with your miserable bullshit. If you have something to add, then add it and state your case. If you can't do that with the same respect that every other fucking poster has then find another sandbox fucko, you feel me?

Hope this helps,
