Duval WAS a long hitter, but not this year...currently averaging 279.1 yds in 131st place on driving distance.
Of interest? Annika Sorenstam currently 1st on LPGA driving stats at 280.6!

Couldn't resist

Campbell +120 over Lonard @ Oly
Been waiting on this one as money has steadily came in on Lonard. Gonna buck the trend and Oly as I see most of Lonards success in 2003 on Euro tour.Excuding match play he has played 4 events stateside with best finish 31st and a cut.Campbell has 4 top10's including two 2nds.

1st rd
Faxon +110 over Couples @ 5dimes
Hoping steady rain and no glove will give edge in this rd.

Thought these props were amusing @ SIA

What did the rough look like today. On T.V. There where saying it is the longest they have seen in years.

Sorry I went to sleep ......the rough looks to be 2 maybe 3 inches. No where near US OPEN rough but you can tell that it is out there.I dont see it being a big factor. The soaked fairways will be the problem. Also the added legth.I couldnt believe how much longer the course played.Arnie wont break 90....he really should withdraw and not tarnish his image.I wish this rain would stop so we can watch the action.

TO WIN PLAYS:

Love 9-1 1unit
Michelson 13-1 1unit
Garcia 32-1 1/2 unit

the only thing I see with 36 holes being played tomorrow is that the young guys may have a fatigue advantage over the older guys....

In terms of your sportsbook, the wager(s) are still "ACTION"

meaning they are in play....

Martha Burke specials....

Martha Burke specials....

MB should crawl back into her hole...

I have been too busy to cap the tourney, but obviously these conditions favor the long and strong drivers of the ball, who can carry it 280 in the air...Tiger, MIK, Daly - yes, I said JD, Els, Love/ and a couple of the young guns, like Howell and Rose. Garcia, maybe, but his driving is becoming akin to Seves. One golfer who is overlooked this week is Craig Perks, who played very well in defense of his Players Championship.

The greens should be holding better than normal, so look for MIK to fire at the pins, as is his norm.

It will also favor the player who is in the best physical shape - and that is without question, Tiger. 36 holes today on the hills of Augusta will kill any chance for the older golfers [Faldo, Omeara, Langer] and the physically infirm, IMO.

Forget Mediate, unless it is for a one on one matchup today only. His back will prevent him from doing anything this week-end.

With everything being said, unless Tiger goes cold, or unless someone else starts making all his puts, Woods should win his third straight with relative ease. Too much of the field has been eliminated by the conditions...

Picks:

1. TOMS over Weir [+110] for the week.

2. GOOSEN over Singh [-115] for the week. I have heard on this board that Singh is ailing...

3. Goose over Singh and Houston - for todays first round [+130]

IP

Add:

4. MIK [+130] over Toms and Lonard - for the first round.

5. Love [-105] over Mediate and Maruyama - first round.

6. Howell [+190] over Rose and Howell...simply taking the one of this equally talented trio with the best odds...

Good luck...IP

:)

Stanley,

are you shocked by some of the individuals play? Woods? DiMarco? Els? Love III?

I am in shock here, but I expect them to make a nice run in the 2nd round...

Again thanks

No TV coverage just yet, but it would be very easy to lose your cool in these conditions. No lift, clean and place so you are always conscious of mud on the ball and so an improper ball flight and the attempt to play 36 holes in one day. That in itself is not a problem, though it is a wet, hilly course, but it would be more irksome for the players at the end of the draw because they have had a rarely bad deal from this. They would have expected to be playing in the best of the conditions on the 2nd morning and now they are playing at the back end of the field for the 2nd time and will have to get back up at dawn to complete their round. For these players, including Woods, Els and Love, it can be very easy to get frustrated ... I am because I capped this event thinking that a Friday morning tee-time would be a significant advantage given the weather forecast earlier in the week :(

WEIR is looking solid but I still gotta think Tiger is in a solid position. Moving day is tomorrow after 2nd round is over and finishing this 2nd will be critical for most. I'm sitting on 4-1 first 2 days if I get some breaks. Hoch looks as if he can miss the cut and kelly is not looking to safe to make the cut either but will need help from the leaders score and some of the so called Tigers best competition that has been widdled to nill. I need 6 players to shoot -1 to -2 and kelly to shoot +1 tomorrow in 2nd round completions and he misses I believe. need weir at -7. oh well it has been interesting to say the least. still this tourney is far from. anyone +5 or lower still has a shot imo.

GL TO ALL!

Harrington/Weir loss
Goose/Huston loss on push
Faxon/Couples push.

Appears playing on Euro's may bite me in the ass this tourney.I am bewildered how they got this course in condition it was for friday. You would think they applied vacumms and hair dryers to it and sun and 70's predicted today.

3rd rd play @ $plays
Furyk - 110 over Garcia
May be voided later as Garcia still on course and not out of woods on cut yet
