%^$##$%@ Been reading for 2 weeks how firm these green are and now this.

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. -- Tiger Woods was on the golf course at dawn Wednesday, and not entirely pleased with what he saw.

The fairways were soft and wet. His ball picked up mud along the fairways. He dug deep to repair pitch marks on the green. The Stadium Course on the TPC at Sawgrass hardly resembled what Ernie Els referred to as a "little monster."

Only one 1st rd pick as rain projected for pm.Could be good or bad,one thing I have found much more accurate than weather forcast for conditions in am vs pm is look which slot Tiger goes off in and they will be the better of the two.

Playing a 1st rd (1 vs 2) match @ 5dimes
Tripp +127 over Willis and Franco
Willis has yet to make cut this year and played poorly here last year.Am basically playing this as straight up match of Tripp vs Franco and Tripp hasn't missed cut in last 5 here.Much better odds than the 11/10 offered in my 3ball outs.

Seve not happy with Sergio:)

Was just thinking in 3+ years have never asked,Do you Euro mates get live coverage of all 3 tours in US. We get 6 hours worth of PGA today. The reason I ask is we get zilch on Euro coverage here.

I don't know about the rest of Europe but in England we are getting 5 hrs/day coverage of the Players. The LPGA and Seniors are rarely aired live. Normally there is a highlights programme the following week.

Thanks Monarch You missed the conditions at Senior event last week then. You had to see them to believe them.British style winds and freezing. Most players wearing sock caps and 3 layers of clothes including full jacket and Wargo played in short sleeve shirt all week:eek:

We are fairly lucky with the amount of golf coverage we get in Australia although it does depend somewhat on which US networks are covering the event.

For the PGA tour we nearly always get 2-3 hours live coverage each day (for the Players Championship we are getting 6 hours live coverage each day).

For the Seniors tour & LPGA tour we get some tournaments live and the rest are generally replayed on the same day.

For the European tour we are able to watch some tournaments live although the local channel covering this may not be around much longer.

For the Australasian tour events played in Australia we get 5-6 hours live coverage each day.

It certainly is a challenge trying to follow all these events when you need to work and sleep and watch the footy as well !!!!

DTB, I managed to catch the last 5 mins of the highlights from the SPGA event. There were some crazy putts on that last green. How on earth did Fuzzys putt not drop?? I agree conditions looked more like England than America in Spring.

I bet the same matchup at Olympic. I hit Tiger for two units. I think it's close to being a gift. I have a feeling with cold, windy conditions moving in tomorrow that Tiger may be close to catching Phil by the end of tomorrow. Phil will continue to employ his overly aggressive style of play that netted him all those birdies today. Eventually on this course he will run into bogies and double bogies. That's my opinion on that matchup.

2nd Rd 3 Ball:

2nd Rd 3 Ball:

Perry/Langer/Westwood 6/5 @ Hills 1 Unit.

This match up should win 8 in 10 on American soil. This course is perfect for Perry. Langer is not having a good year and Westwood is still in a rut coupled with a bad neck.

Damn It. Don't know what variance is yet but it hugely one sided and all my outrights went off in the morning:( You just never know, cap this for tough conditions and cut as of now is even par.

prior post

"Only one 1st rd pick as rain projected for pm.Could be good or bad,one thing I have found much more accurate than weather forcast for conditions in am vs pm is look which slot Tiger goes off in and they will be the better of the two"

Sheez And one reporter had the nerve to say it'll even out tomorrow with 40 degree morning temps, well its 56 now and they tee of in a few hours.

Enough boo-hooing,not messing with am/pm this rd but do fancy two cont @ Oly
Leonard +105 over Weir
Currently tied but Leonard has played 2 more holes and Weir looked very ill yesterday.

Hoch -110 over Dimarco currently tied
Like this match prior and like it better now.Hoch has completed 12 holes and Dimarco 13 the BIG difference is Hoch has completed the back side and Dimarco has to play the 15th,17th and 18th yet.

DTB, the weather forcast has the wind dieing down a bit in the late afternoon so it may yet even itself out. Those playing late last night did get very lucky though. How long do you think it will take to get the greens back up to speed? I'm also starting to think this course is perfect for Mickelson, every time he misses a fairway it's by so much that all the rough is bypassed and he has a nice lie on some leaves.

Monarch With no more rain projected I look for greens to speed and firm up by weekend due to the wind, however the fairways probably will not till Sunday if then.Firm greens + soft fairways= long hitters mucho advantage.Short hitters can't over come hitting long irons into firm greens vs those hitting short irons especially on weekend pins.

These figures are not quite as different as one may have thought between morning and afternoon starts.

Code:
	Sub Par Avg. Sub Avg.
Morn. 22 -1.77 73.37
Aft. 25 -2.48 72.97

Depends if you look at whole picture or part of the picture and when you caught the back side.
Those going off 1st in am(not counting Kuchar and Berganio who have withdraw) shot 64 over par collectively.
group that went off 10 tee in am shot 29 over par.I would say just a tad difference.Don't have time to add the pm's manually but you will find bigger descrepency between them and those that went off 1st tee in am.Bottom line 1st rd players going off in am on 1st tee were phucked ducks.

Not had much interest in the outrights -so - Steve Elkington - winner here in 91 and 97 - in the clubhouse at -2 after a fine 68, he is top in DA and finished 5th last time up at Genuity - 50/1 Sporting Odds

Thanks for stats Nomad.I know you got easier way to get these than my adding them manually.Took me bout 45minutes:D

almost @the cut
1st rd
Tripp +127 vs Franco & Willis loss by 1 (to both)

72 holes Not sure if cut will remain at 2 or go to 3 but its looking like two with low winds projected, however these 2 are pretty well certain.
Kendall -102/Sutherland loss
Langer +100/Couples win
If it remains @ +2 Singh will bite the dust @-120 (ouch)vs Oly

Remainder up for grabs in this event. Not doing very good job on this event so far and would be worse if other matchups had been available.Had Day-Goosen-Appleby-Roberts-Sutherland heading my $hitlist for this event and looks like all except Sutherland will made cut:confused:

adding a couple place wagers @ Oly on a couple that are in striking distance at generous place odds.
Hoch 30/1
Less wind may perk him back up.Hits high ball flight
Price 25/1
not far back and has 6 holes left on 2nd rd and already played the back.

72 hole cont @ Oly
Tiger +110 vs Mick currently 4 down
Tiger will hang around and Mick with aggressive style you never know.Shoots 64-75.Plus a lot of press controversy on his style may give him more aggressive "take that" attitude which should not serve him well here.Plus not mant opps to get Tig @ +110 with 2 rds remaining.
3rd rd
Cabrerra +110 over Weir
His good play not surprising here as he carded 15th last year.
Still does not look like Weir feels well to me.

Mid-point update:

Faxon/Campbell Trails by 4
Verplank/Campbell Trails by 6
Hoch/Couples WON by 8
Hoch/Harrington Trails by 2
Allenby/Fasth WON by 10
Kuchar/Fasth LOST (Kuchar WD)
Azinger/Cabrera LOST by 7
Beckman/Montgomerie LOST by 8
Tway/Faldo Trails by 1
Howell/Scott WON by 6
Huston/Westwood WON by 8
Singh/Olazabal LOST by 1
Cabrera/Scott WON by 8

Westwood DID miss the cut
Franco DID NOT miss the cut

Duval 24th
Hoch 38th
Azinger mc

What an infuriating event this is! No lead is ever safe on this course. Was looking at a huge tournament after the 1st round. Most of the matchups were winning, both the cut props looked safe and Duval and Hoch were both in the top-5. The 2nd was very different and to cap it all, Matt Kuchar sprains his ankle playing basketball while waiting for his delayed 2nd round tee-time. His opponent finished a very lowly 122nd but Kuchar has to withdraw injured  Azinger missed the cut, but Jimenez's hole-in-one at the 17th meant it is a returned wager for some good news. All four remaining matchups are trailing and Duval and Hoch are no more than six shots out of the lead, so things could still turn dramatically for the better.

Wow, for the 1st time in a while I actually felt bad for Mickelson. That must have been brutal to go through. It looks like a perfect scenario for a charge from one of the prize names but Paulson/Perks looked pretty steady so who knows. Should be an interesting back 9 tomorrow.

Monarch,
Can only admit to feeling relief at Mickelson's plight, had laid 14/1 at betfair Thursday and didn't like the look of the 7/4 earlier tonight... but now safely covered... was 50/1 just now at betfair.
Should be a gripper tomorrow.... can the outsiders hang on?
