Today COVID-19 hit 205,000 + cases in a single day which is the record.

I was off work 6 months, and I?m exhausted. Health care workers are worn out both mentally and physically. Imagine wearing a garbage bag over your clothes and changing the diaper and bed of a dependent patient who is 300 pounds. I look like I have been out in the rain when I come out rooms.

Mask compliance is not bad in my hometown, but there are many idiots who think others who wear them are pu$$ies. It?s common sense to do so and selfish to not. I rarely go see my parents, and it I do, I have a mask on at all times. I?m not trying to infect them should I possibly have it.

First off I wear a mask, it's common sense. I know some people will say they did this study and that study and masks don't work and 85% of those who got COVID say they were following the protocol to a tea, BULLSHIT, in my 25 plus years in the nursing field I have discovered that patients are fucking liars. (Unless they are near fucking death, then they will come clean) Nobody wants to admit it was their fault. I wear the mask because it doesn't hurt me to wear the mask, I don't feel my rights are being taken away and what if the mask does work? I may save a life.

Now to the MYTHS, Hospitals just mark people down with covid. Hospitals are making so much money, I have medical friends who know. Let me tell you your medical friend don't know shit, when the patient is discharged weather they walk out the door or leave in hearse that chart changes hands or well computer screens who knows how many times. A doctor really can write whatever the fuck he wants but there is going to be checks and balances. There are a lot of jobs at stake for falsifying medical records or going after money grabs, Doctors can lose licenses, hospitals can lose funding, if they lose funding they are closing their doors. So to make sure they cover their ass (which medical field pays a ton of money to cover their ass, part of the reason premiums go up)they have medical review, utiliization review and they make sure the doctors are up and up on their diagnosis and make sure they are using the best treatment available. On the flip side INSURANCE companies pay a lot of money for people to review charts to make sure the hospital doesn't fuck them over. Trust me if a hospital is trying to fuck over an insurance company and they figure it out it wont be pretty. So they just don't hand over money.

Now early on in this process when COVID tests were not readily available they were accepting covid diagnosis for people without tests, WHY? because they had the symptoms, were in a high covid area and people were dying. When the whold fucking city gets sick and bum rushes your hospital's front door you can bet it's more than the flu.

Now you better have a positive covid test for that diagnosis and reimbursement and a lot of symptoms. Like I said people don't just hand over money without asking questions. so you can't just mark anyone a covid death like some people are saying. Waaaaayyyyy too many people involved. Now yes if you have a heart atttack and drop dead and test positive for covid you will get a covid diagnosis IN ADDITION to MI. Why? Because they can, they can say that postive covid lead to your demise of MI. Its a little shady but it is what it is. It's not that rampant as many people will lead you to believe. I can tell you that the hospital here has had over 100 flu and pneumonia cases since fall I believe and they could not diagnosis with covid even though they had the symptoms because they don't have a positive test.

So all the bullshit you hear is just that bullshit.

As far as the hospitals go, they are filling back up and Minnesota is full of Covid, the end game is the Vaccine or getting it.

I like how someone says it's balls to the walls until it involves you or a loved one. so so true.

ANY QUESTIONS?

Good post. Much like the other fraudulent claims out there right now, it's all a load of shit once you start digging into the personal liability associated with tampering with medical records or the voting process. The knuckleheads will never get it.

I feel bad for 65, don?t worry about me guys I have a nice easy job taking care of ventilator kids in their homes. I have to be cautious cause if I give it to them I would be very upset.

As for our elderly.. I hate it when people say, it only kills our elderly. For someone who has worked with the elderly for almost 20 years it?s very disheartening how people turn their backs on people who are old. They don?t want to get it, have a little compassion

Exactly bp. It?s very selfish to not wear a mask.

In the hospital where I currently work, each patient can have one visitor per day. Not one at a time, but one total the whole day. Patients with Covid-19 can not have visitors at all.

I do my best to field every call from families and I even call them to give updates. Think how frustrating and frightening it would be to have your mom/dad/adult child in the hospital and not be allowed to visit. The only communication you have with them (if they are too sick to use their own phone) is a nurse who is so overwhelmed they really don?t have time to talk to you. The physicians rarely call families for updates.

Wear your mask, stay at home as much as possible, don?t blow off Covid, limit your contact with the elderly, and pray for this situation or send your best wishes. Not getting deeply into politics, but our president has done a great disservice to the citizens of the USA by not wearing his mask, not encouraging the population to wear masks, and by being so divisive. This is real, and it?s awful. **Biden is a demented clown as well who is too touchy feely around children. I do not like either person. This is not a political post.**

Thanks for the info. How about you? Have you contracted it yet? If not, do you think you will?

Also, how often does a healthcare worker get tested?

I?m well, and I haven?t ever had it although I?m convinced I had it this time last year before we knew about it. Fever 103.5, diarrhea, and cough. I had to go to the er. I was septic, but I refused admission. They gave me three liters of fluids, and I was better the next day. I think if they tested me for antibodies now, I would have them. Lots of people were very sick in this same time frame last November/December. Covid-19 was probably here then especially on the west coast where I was at that time.

I?m at peace with thinking I hope I don?t get it, and I think I?ll be fine if I do. The main thing is though that if I get it, I?m out of work with no pay. Bend over health care workers. If I get it, I can?t prove I contracted it while working. The employer can say I got it at Walmart or at the gas station etc. it?s impossible to prove, so tough sh!t if u get it. I?ll bet lots of people don?t know that too.

I have only been tested once. Before u go into work, you have to do a self certification type thing. If anything is a yes, u get tested. Some places have u work, some send u home. If u work at a nursing home, u get tested weekly. Doctor?s offices same thing. BP probably gets tested often.

I think about your work situation quite often, Clint. It seems like all of you front liners get kicked in the head every shift, with no end in sight. I give you all a ton of credit.

The front line workers deserve a financial reward for their service. Instead, we give out forgivable loans to businesses rather than the actual workers. We're so fucking stupid.

I am a sole proprietor and I bill the state of MN, so I don't work for a staffing company. I have three clients and have had the same 3 for quite sometime and I answer to the parents. What the parents want is what happens. So we have several in the group and for a long time we were only going to one client's home which makes sense so we don't get everyone sick. I now go to two homes because we had a nurse quit, she just wants to stay home so someone had to do it. I don't care if I get it, I mean I do but I'm not worried about what Covid would do to me but would do for my clients. I have been taking care of the one for 10 years and I told mom if she or anyone in the family gets it that I would just live there until it was over because the other nurses would not go in.

As far as testing, Only testing if we have symptoms. I didn't feel all that well 2 weeks ago with a sore throat and a little congestion. I tested Negative but I quarantined cause for 3 days, that's when I got the test back.

I know nurses who work at the hospital, they have their temps checked before every shift and if they have symptoms they test and are done right there on the spot.

Let me tell you, unless it?s a hospice patient it can be very devastating to lose a patient. You wonder what you could have done better or it can just put you down,
Psychologically devastating

Here is a post on FB by a good friend of mine who works local hospital, this is her response to people positing BS about covid

I will say this. Walk into a hospital -- oh wait no visitors for your own protection while your family member fights for their life... IF ONLY we could wear body cameras to show these people who dont believe whats truly happening inside our walls... multiple deaths at a time, nurses crying in the halls, units packed full of covid patients, ICU sick sick patients being treated on general floors waiting for beds... because there are NO beds... our faces breaking down from wearing N95s for 8, 12, and 16 hours... these people --- get yourself an N95... where it for 8 hours. I BET you wont make even 2 if properly fitting. Just ridiculous... yet "we" will still care for you and or your family... even with your BS opinions... I pray you and or your children do not get sick... even the healthiest of all people are getting sick and its unfortunate that most people will not understand the devastation this virus has caused inside our walls and for so many people until they themselves are faced with it.

Oh man the N-95

It is so uncomfortable! The N-100 is awful too (imagine a Breaking Bad/exterminator mask), and several nurses at work have been positive as well as the inside of their N-100 masks!

Wearing the N-95 is like having a wool burlap over your face. Hot, sweaty, and chaps you around the nostrils.

I just got a call yesterday that one of my patients (non covid floor those three days) tested positive, so I was exposed probably since I didn?t wear the N-95 all those shifts as it is not required. If I get it, tough sh!t since I can?t prove where I got it.

They forgot to create a distribution plan,

Well, it's not like they had 9 months to plan how to do it once a vaccine was made.
