just bc you weren?t affected doesn?t mean that others weren?t

800+ small businesses closed every day over the past 9 months - layoffs, unpaid furloughs, salary reductions etc - is it that none of these things affected you personally so you don?t worry about them?

sooner or later the damage caused outweighs the original threat

also, not everyone has the luxury of child care when schools are closed, making them unable to work

guess this wasn?t an issue either

3,000 people a day are dying from this shit, too. Just because you weren't affected, doesnt mean others weren't.

1st of all, I was affected - i know multiple people who died from complications associated with covid

2nd of all, I'm not trying to deny the effects of covid - I'm just trying to say there's another side to the story that some don't seem to want to take into account

like I said earlier, take proper precautions (based on your individual situation) and do your best to stay out of harm?s way

I cant think of anyone who doesn't know businesses have closed for good. The idea that you can shut down this place, and let that one continue, is absurd. Its emblematic of the handling of the entire pandemic.

If I go out to eat tonight, and go to the bar afterwards, am I helping my community, or hurting it? It's not an easy answer.

These millions of sick people get sick somewhere.

I have a friend who was a concierge at the Ritz in New Orleans for years

He was originally furloughed without pay and has now officially been laid off

I'll go ahead and let him know what you all said there was no lockdown, and list all of the great things you were able to do during that timeframe - sure that will make him feel better about his current situation

my other friends who wait tables for a living should be fine as well, despite their restaurants being limited to a quarter of their seating capacity (never mind the restaurant owners who will obviously be in great shape)

they will be happy to know there were never any lockdowns

When you understand what a lockdown is, I'll continue this discussion.

Tell your friends Walmart is hiring.

One last thing.

The Capitol is now on lockdown, because the country isnt.

I'll let you figure that out.

You are the one claiming the "lockdown" is more dangerous than the virus. I just demonstrated how the "lockdown" was not a lockdown.

I had to travel to Sacramento for work. They gave me the option of not going, but couldn't guarantee my job would still be around when I decided I could travel again. I decided to travel.

Please do. We haven't had a lockdown and my ability to do all of what I listed just proves that you're full of shit.

guys, I suggest you do yourselves a favor and google the word 'lockdowns' and see what comes up

it's already too late for your purposes here, but this exercise will help save you from embarrassment in future settings and conversations
