On the course!
I'll let you read this again.

One last thing.

The Capitol is now on lockdown, because the country isnt.

I'll let you figure that out.

China had a lockdown in Wuhan for ten weeks. No one came in, and no one left.

They solved the problem.

Its completely unfair to tell some businesses to stop, while others can go on. That doesn't accomplish anything. We've gone too far to stop it, now. Millions more will get sick, and thousands more will die.

I dont think most give a shit. Let Rome burn.

As a country, we handle everything poorly, and only want OUR needs met.

When you understand what a lockdown is, I'll continue this discussion.

Tell your friends Walmart is hiring.

During the April "lockdown" here's what I was able to do:
Grocery shop
Shop at Home Depot and other stores
Order food for pick up or delivery
Shop online and have items delivered
Golf
Fly to Sacramento for work
Drive to and from work
Walk to a cafe and order lunch to go
Shop in hardware shops
Pick up and drive a rental car
Check in and stay at a hotel (no maid service)
Ship items back to my office from a FedEx Office

Basically, nothing changed except kids weren't going to school, my hotel room wasn't getting maid service and nobody was eating in restaurants.

Lockdown my ass.....and you're telling me that killed more people than the virus?

Sadly, new orleans has overdone it. Our mayor is a Compton-born liberal on a power trip. In a hospitality- based economy, our restaurants are only allowed to operate at 25% occupancy now, which means dozens have closed or furloughed staff. Bars are closed. Music venues closed since April. Lockdown is killing livelihoods....bankruptcies and foreclosures are high.

Well, we could have given all that bailout money to the people instead of businesses. We could have taken the virus seriously from the start. There could have been a plan. The half assed approach to dealing with it, which has allowed it to drag out for a year and is only getting worse, has cost jobs and lives.

Yeah, grocery shopping and traveling for work is some radical shit.

One of the things that annoyed me in NOLA was family owned hardware store was forced to close in april, but mass merchandisers were allowed open. Of course, I understand that the construction industry needs those large companies open because the little guys' stock and higher prices make large projects unfeasible, but the small hardware stores shouldn't have been shuttered. Many examples like this bothered me, and knowing people specifically affected by this inconsistency in the lockdown rules made it worse for me to accept.

I agree that DJT did poor work on the pandemic, which hurt him in the election. He's not the only one, as McConnell and Pelosi were terrible, too. Time for term limits and time to cap age at time of inauguration to max retirement age for a 1st term potus. I think that'll help tremendously.
