What's next? Doses will spoil because they sat around too long?

global shortage of glass vials :

How could a shortage of glass disrupt supply?
Two Covid vaccines have now been approved - one produced by Pfizer-BioNTech and another made by Oxford University and AstraZeneca. The UK government has ordered 140 million doses - enough for the whole population.

The first hurdle is manufacture of the vaccine.
This involves two crucial stages - the production of the substance and then a process called fill and finish whereby the vaccine is put into vials and packaged up for use. And there is already a concern about the latter stage, with the availability of key ingredients and equipment including glass vials a key issue.

I have not changed a thing except that I use hand sanitizer regularly and am even more cognizant of hand washing than I was before. I also wear masks indoors except when at a party, bar or restaurant.

lockdowns kill, pure and simple

and much like the virus?s effects, death is not the only negative factor that results from lockdowns

just crazy to me that some people think that is the answer to the world?s problems right now, just lock everyone down and close all business and things will magically be ok - clearly it doesn?t work like that - we?ll come out of lockdown and the virus will still be there just like it was after the last set of lockdowns

the virus sucks and is dangerous for many - take proper precautions and do your best to stay out of harm?s way

Exactly. Common sense losing out to fear and hysteria. Do your part in terms of standard precautions and live life

On the course!
We've never had a lockdown, so let's get that out of the way. We've never even had a modified lockdown.

So, to say lockdowns don't work, is as disingenuous as saying they do work. We dont know 100%.

If you stay in your house, and dont get Covid, "lockdowns work". If you haven't changed one thing in your life, and didn't get Covid, "lockdowns kill people".

Some of you are talking about common sense. My version is, the less people I encounter, the better my odds of staying safe.

a lockdown does not have to mean that people are strictly confined to their homes

People don't have common sense. People won't do their part. We can't even get people to wear a mask in public. Too many people either think it isn't a thing or are getting their information from sources that actually tell them it is more dangerous to not eat out in a restaurant than the virus.

Nobody wants to wear a mask, but if we all do, it can help limit the spread. Unfortunately, a lot of people view this inconvenience as suppression.

it may sometimes be in reluctant fashion, but people down here wear masks in all places where it is required - in restaurants ppl wear a mask when moving about, in grocery and retail stores ppl wear their masks the entire time

there may be a small faction of ppl who out and out refuse to put a mask on, but that?s certainly not the majority - and there?s no reason to wear a mask outdoors if distancing is possible

During the April "lockdown" here's what I was able to do:
Grocery shop
Shop at Home Depot and other stores
Order food for pick up or delivery
Shop online and have items delivered
Golf
Fly to Sacramento for work
Drive to and from work
Walk to a cafe and order lunch to go
Shop in hardware shops
Pick up and drive a rental car
Check in and stay at a hotel (no maid service)
Ship items back to my office from a FedEx Office

Basically, nothing changed except kids weren't going to school, my hotel room wasn't getting maid service and nobody was eating in restaurants.

Lockdown my ass.....and you're telling me that killed more people than the virus?
