Why wasn't this shortage of masks under covered by anyone when Trump was under one of his many investigations by the left? Surely that would have been grounds for impeachment, Who the fuck knew we would need all this equipment to be ready in 3 weeks during the peak of our own regular flu season? Your hindsight criticism is to the point though. You just mirror what that pillar of truth CNN feeds you. Too bad.

Why wasn't this shortage of masks under covered by anyone when Trump was under one of his many investigations by the left? There is no connection between the subjects

Surely that would have been grounds for impeachment, It's not

Who the fuck knew we would need all this equipment to be ready in 3 weeks during the peak of our own regular flu season? Isn't that the problem with cutting out the Pandemic Response Team and cutting CDC funding?

Your hindsight criticism is to the point though. I have a hard time criticizing actions that haven't happened, please forgive me.

You just mirror what that pillar of truth CNN feeds you. Too bad. Negative press isn't fake news.

When will you understand that all of those people are bullshit artists? They just have to be marginally smarter than the dipshits who vote for them.

When we have these moments of crisis, we find out just how ill prepared these assholes are. Everyone of these people hope nothing goes wrong on their watch. Guess what? Hope ain't a tactic.

This seems to contradict everything that's coming out from the Medical professionals.

So the guy that depleted the supply, and was still in office for another 7 years and could have replenished the supply, bares no responsibility?
That crack pandemic response team that was still in place for 7 more years did a great job to make sure that the country was prepared as well.

My response was to the idiocy of the blame game 3 years after taking over, but if we're going to unpack it a bit, here's some of my thoughts.

-The supply left was apparently enough to cover 3+ years and the beginning of a pandemic outbreak.
-What does "depleted" mean? Was it 1% of depleted or was it 75% depleted?
-Why wasn't the supply restored? Are these items being managed, if so, who's responsible?
-The Pandemic Response Team was created after the Ebola outbreak ~ 2014

Just keep blaming Obama. Nothing is ever this administration's fault.

Could this "supply" of medical goodies simply not exist?

If there are big warehouses containing this stuff, why is it not being delivered? Governors have been begging for WEEKS!

In defense of the team trying to work this, having the right amount of these supplies in stock at the ready is nearly impossible to plan for. I get that they don't have enough stuff. The conversation should be: (1) Here's what we are facing (2) here's what we need and (3) here's what we are doing to do to get what we need.

Even if you are at the podium taking questions, it should be an easy one to handle:

Reporter: Is it true our medical personnel don't have enough masks?

Leader: Yes, we are running short on supplies. As a country, we do prepare for medical crises but the level of need for this specific crisis is something we've never seen before. We are working with _________ to get more by ________. In the meantime, we're asking everyone to ______ to help bridge the gap.

Instead, we get "That's a nasty question" or "The previous administration left us in a very bad position".

It shouldn?t matter if it was 1%, or 75% depleted. If it is a strategic reserve, one would assume that if you take 1 you replace it. One would also assume that when the PRT was created, they might have checked to see what the supplies of critical items were. I?m guessing that a key responsibility of that group would be to manage the supply, and reorder if necessary.
If the supply was depleted when the current administration took over, who would you like to blame? Bush?

Here's what doesnt sit with me.

New York NEEDS ventilators. They get 4000 when they need 30,000? Why?

Okay, let's say the Obama administration depleted the reserves by 50% and didn't replace them. Shame on them. Now, how many years does Trump need for someone in his administration to replenish? 3 wasn't enough.

If they weren?t needed until now, how would they know that there was a deficiency?
In my mind, it still goes back to if you take 1, you replace it.
If all of them had been replaced would there still have been a shortage? Possibly, but besides Nostradamus who would?ve known?

It?s hard to imagine the scale of this.
The rate of spread in New York is unbelievable.
It would be interesting to see what the amount that would usually be available under normal circumstances would be.

Yes, Cuomo shit the bed on that one, but you know that, right?

NY Gov. Cuomo Rejected Buying Recommended 16,000 Ventilators in 2015 for Pandemic, Established Death Panels and Lottery Instead

[link to www.thegatewaypundit.com (secure)]

Life comes at you fast, as the saying goes, or as the case may be in this era of a viral pandemic, death comes at you fast. Sadly it is the latter for the citizens of New York who will pay the price for Gov. Andrew Cuomo?s (D) 2015 decision to not fix a shortfall and buy the recommended 16,000 ventilators to shore up the state?s stockpile in case of a pandemic. Cuomo spent more money than the cost of the ventilators on a solar panel boondoggle, reports former New York Lieutenant Governor Betsy McCaughey (R) in a syndicated column published this past week. McCaughey reports the Cuomo administration decided instead to establish ?triage officers? to decide in a crisis who would get a ventilator and who would be left to die.

It has also been reported a ventilator lottery would be an option in a pandemic crisis. Now with the COVID-19 Chinese coronavirus overwhelming New York hospitals, Cuomo is begging for ventilators.
