kegray..........Bas Rutten may disagree with ya. And ummm let's not forget Kimbo showing up 1.5 hours late for press conference after Seth loss. And he refused to answer questions. He spent 5 minutes and then took off. Kimbo has done some unprofessional stuff. I agree he ain't that bad. But if you ask Bas about Kimbo I am sure he'd give ya the down low on the Kimboster. After 4 months Kimbo thought he was this great thing and stopped listening to Bas, not exactly the "I want to learn" philosophy now is it.
Also, let us not forget that Kimbo does suck, he talks a big game but when ya get down to it, he's not a Top 200 pound for pound fighter. Now if he wins three fights in the house then I'll be impressed. But when it is all said and done, Kimbo sucks. He hasn't beat anyone.
What fighter has Bas trained that makes you think he is some genius when it comes to preparing a fighter? Watch the dvd docum. Smashing Machine and you will see his training of Mark Kerr. Kimbo says he learned more in a few days from Team Rampage then he ever learned from Bas.
I like Bas and Kimbo did bash him but maybe it was deserved.Let's see if he indeed looks better vs Roy.
Kimbo was late for the press conference but he never said anything negative about Seth during it or he got lucky type of BS. He said that Seth was a good fighter and caught him.
As for Kimbo sucking, I would say that is a little strong although I do agree he was way overhyped and many of us(myself and you included) got paid in the fight with Seth knowing he could go down.
He destroyed Ray Mercer in seconds(ask UFC champion Tim Sylvia how easy that is). He destroyed a shell of his self UFC champion Tank. James Thompson is no bum by any means, but just a guy with a soft chin. James took some shots and kept going in that one. The glaring issue in that fight was Kimbo's balance and cardio. Let's see what both are like against Roy.
I do agree Kimbo would never beat any of the top 5 HW's in UFC maybe not any top 10, but there are some fighters he could beat.
People are fascinated with sideshows and Dana finally realized that guys like Baroni,Kimbo,Trigg, and a few others have followers and bring in cash win or lose. I think Kimbo gets on a real card UFC fight if he just beats Roy.
If I was training Kimbo then I would tell him to be the bully fighter that you are. Kimbo has great upper body strength and should be taking fights to the ground and pounding away like Lesnar does.
Training a guy to fight from the top is much easier than training him to fight from the bottom.
Kimbo did this vs. Mercer and I have not seen him do it since.
