1st rd results 3-1
Harrington/Howell (- .5 strokes) win
Furyk/Mick (- .5 srokes) win
Janzen/Perry (+ .5 strokes) win
prop
Mick score over 72 loss

Will need 25 mph winds remaining days for scoring props.
This is poorest excuse for open setup I have ever seen.
Rough? Bullshit! --and with wide open short cut in front of greens fairway rough is a non penalty.Case in point, Mick hits only 4 fairways all day but 73% of greens and shoots even par.
If I'd seen course I wouldn't have bet any of the senior tour players wouldn't bust 72. Even Irwin was on track and with back so bad they had to haul him off.:D
40 plus players currently at par or better in U.S. Open:rolleyes:

Parlayinn, those bets were placed some weeks ago (ante post bets). I got Singh at 25/1 with Bet365 just before he won the Byron Nelson and Leonard at 80/1 with Easybets before he won as well. Harrington was also 50/1 with easybets a month ago.

Estes -105 over Rose @ $plays
Would like this wager more if had some prior Open course history on Rose unfortunately still won't after this event as he was another hitting only 36% of fairways and shot par.
Estes ranking of # 6 for driving accuracy(normally a big factor in opens) is nulified here however his ranking of 3rd in scambling should be a plus.

Notes: 16 players shot par or better hitting 50% of fairways or less. 7 hit 50%/4 hit 43%/4 hit 36%/and one(Mick) hit 29% even Spike who only hit 14% managed 1 over.
Tiger continues his 1st rd consevative play in majors
Thank you WSEX

Right now I have Jim Furyk e/w at 26/1 for 3 units and David Toms e/w at 50/1 for 2 units.

Adding another 3 units at 12/1 for a top 4 finish on Toms.

1. no wind
2. the rough is not as bad as the usual us open jungle
3. no trouble in front of the greens. the players with marginal lies in the rough can just squirt it out and let it run onto the green
4. rain softened greens. players can fire at the pins and they aren't as fast.

been having some good luck the first 2 days plus have Singh at 16-1 after taking him at 5 dimes after the first round. Going to test the golfing gods head on by posting my 3rd round plays:

Price -112 over Clarke (5 dimes)
Calc -107 over Triplett (5 dimes)
Weir -121 over Mick (pinnacle)
Leonard -114 over Cink (pinnacle)
Price -110 over Cink (bowmans)

Good luck everyone and thanks for the education from this site.

2nd rd
Estes/Rose loss
72 holes and props
Love/Mick loss
Singh/Love win
Estes/Howell loss
lowest score over 64.5 loss

Price/Howell 7up
Weir/Mick even
Harrington/Mick 1 dn
Furyk/Mick 7 up
Harrington/Perry 2up
under 4 1/2 breaking par (not looking good)
winning score under 275.5 (looking better)

adding a couple of outrights to place @ Oly (top 4)
Els 7/1 and Weir 12/1 (both currently at even par)
Maybe Meeks gets a little emabarrassed that 18 and 36 scoring records both insulted on this track and quits pouring the water to these greens and allows it some defense. Maybe some of the cream will rise to the top.

Will not have any posted plays the remaining rds as have enough eggs in basket opposing certain players but will continue to oppose them in hopes that errant driving will in time catch up.
I should have dumb ass of the year award for taking such a stance on scoring props on assuming course conditions.$plays has scor props on 9 players today with the highest total being 1/2 stroke over par. In normal Open I'd love to bet over on every player and let the chips fall where they may.

DTB,
I think you bet on a diff tourney. The start date is in July and they had an option up for the '132nd Open' along with the US Open that is now down. I know I ran over there to try and get that 18-1. :D

Saturday weather...

Saturday weather...

About 72-74 degrees. Winds 8-10 mph. At least it's sunny, maybe the greens dry out and firm up. Hope so.

I for one am EXTREMELY disappointed in this excuse of a U.S. Open set-up. I,ve been watching for about an hour now on Saturday afternoon, and I have not seen this many birdie's and eagle's since the International.I've alway's watched the Major's,and looked forward to the U.S. Open in particular because of it's difficulty, and it's ability to humble the best player's in the world. I'm watching people miss fairway's and knocking it stiff, and make eagle's from the rough, and it just doesn't seem like a major at all, much less an Open.

Just a question. I have a few shares of Furyk at WSEX which I purchased for $5 each. He is now 63-68. Are they worth selling for $63 or should I wait it out? I notice most places have him about 1/3 odds to win so his price really should probably be around 70-75. My hunch is that wsex has a lot of furyk outstanding and they don't want to make him too high on the sell or everyone will dump for the profit. At the same time, Furyk is 3 up on Leaney and 5 up on the real contenders of Singh and Price. I really can't see Furyk losing now.
