but rogan was ridiculous.....might be the most biased commentary i`ve ever heard...seriously...

he was kissing Shoguns ass, but anyone with an MMA brain(i like to think most if not all of us on here do) can agree that just about everything he said was true...

listen to the wandy-chuck fight...that was sickening to listen too..

honestly, even though it was an "interesting" fight,tt was mostly devoid of real action...maybe rogan was trying to juice it up a little...

enjoying the tactics....but,i wonder how much rogan has on rua?...

Seriously! Shogun would go for a kick, Lyoto would catch him with a straight punch, and Rogan goes crazy about the kick that got snuffed.

If you didn't know what you were watching, Rogan would have had you thinking it was 5-0 Rua. I think it was a close fight that easily could have gone either way. Take out Rogan, and it is a totally different fight (without the commentary I mean).

I am a huge Machida fan. I think Shogun did enough to win, but I can't say he necessarily deserved to win. On some of his attacks, he took serious punishment and that is how the judges scored it. I really think Rogan was fucking with my head the whole time, but I will have to watch the fight again (sans commentary) to get a true sense of what happened. I kept yelling at the TV that Rogan bet on Rua and that screwed me up. How many time do I have to hear about a red spot on Machidas ribs while Shogun's entire mid-section is the color of a breast cancer ribbon?

For what it is worth, Shogun showed the way to beat Machida. The odds were way off (lesson learned even when favorite won) and I wonder how this will affect the future of the 205 division. The game-plan was successful, but far from perfect.

WELCOME TO THE SHOGUN ERA

Shogun won that fight, nobody will convince me otherwise.

I can be a homer, but I know when my fighter has lost. I could admit it in the Franklin and Chuck fights with Wandy, but no way does that happen here.

I know who I would rather be when I wake up tomorrow and it sure as Fuck isn't Machida. He will be lucky to get out of bed.

I had this fight 4 to 1. I would not have been shocked at 3 to 2 and when I heard the score cards I thought, finally a just verdict.
But of course the judges and their seeing eye dogs Fuck things up again.

Shogun Jacked Machida's legs.

Shogun Jacked Machida's body.

Shogun cracked Machida with the harder shots.

Shogun was the agressor.

Every time Machida did land, Shogu took the play away by chasing and hitting him. He never let Machida have the last word.

Machida landed some nice knee's.

Umm, really? I don't recal that big boy.

Weepaul is on the dot.

Machida was tired, Shogun wasn't...how about that gas tank?????

Machida was stalked the shole fight...where the fuck did octogan control go? Where did the leg kicks go?

Machida won't roll out of bed tomorrow while Shogun will roll out fine, but just be sad like me.

Also all judges having 48-47 score seems hella crooked to me , whatcha think ? I mean if it was a close fight and all had this score I would be less surprised but come on , nobody had Shogun winning this one ? W T F ? ? ? ? ? ! ! ! :scared

First off, I totally agree that it could have gone either way. But you can't argue that Rogan threw things out of whack. How the fuck can he say Rua was up 2-0 after round 2. Both of those rounds were pretty even with Rua probably taking 1 and Machida 2. I GUARANTEE if you had an impartial announcer you'd be less confident that Shogun should have won. Your assessment that Rua did the most damage with the hands is laughable. Also, if someone goes for a takedown and gets stuffed (repeatedly) who gets credit?

The fight was razor close and I would not have complained either way. If you can't see that then you weren't paying attention. Shogun easily got "rocked" more times during the fight (watch it) but he definitely controlled the fight. If I was on the dog here, I'd of been upset too.

This is what doesn't make sense. Shogun didn't win 3 rounds on ANY of the judges score cards. Also, I don't think people should assume that just because they're judges that means they know more, or simply...are right.

Like I said, you could probably argue Machida won 2 rounds, but I'd like to know which round was his 3rd round that he won?

Do we really want a rematch? That was boring.

Color me not a Machida fan. EVER. :sadwave:

He has had like 1 or 2 exciting fights his entire career. He is always going backwards waiting for the action to come to him.

Here come the questions for Dana again about a guy sitting and waiting for the action when he is the champ.

If the saying is true of you have to beat the champ to be the champ then good luck beating this guy.
He will not let you get close enough to him to harm him enough to blow the judges away unless you are too eager then he takes advantage of it.

Shoguns face seems to be looking okay while Machida's is cut up. However, I never said he got the best of the fist...personally not much effective punches were really landed by either fighter. However, the most damaging punch thrown in the fight was in the 3rd round, by SHOGUN.

The kicks simply cannot be ignored. He stalked Machida the whole fight, and made Machida look slow.

I never listen to the retarded announcers. I think they tend to pick their favorite, then Goldberg just agrees or brings up points to favor it.
