Lets not forget that Machida got put in a triangle and got out....since you're SOOOOOOOO WILLING to reference the Tito fight...just shows how terrible is his ground game is...

I think taking down a guy who almost NEVER(Chuck) gets takend down, and getting taken down by a guy who has TERRIBLE ground game(Sokoudjou)...counts for a helluva lot more than stuffing Tito.

I'll bet you ANYTHING that Shogun will have Machida on his back in this fight.

Soko's ground game does suck, but has solid Judo (competed in Judo competitions against Karo). The evidence is easy to see in how he took Machida down, but then couldn't do anything afterwards. Take downs and ground game are not one in the same. Maybe you think so, but I don't. Stuffing Tito 9 out of 9 times apparently means nothing, but two Judo throws by Soko means a lot.

Machida very well could end up on his back. And that means what? What should he fear about being on the ground with Rua? Shogun has ONE submission win in his professional career. ONE! And that was over Kevin Randleman.

I know you want Rua to win, but making up these bogus arguments isn't going to make it happen. Anything can happen in MMA, but there is a reason Machida is undefeated and there is a reason Rua is a huge underdog.

You know what I noticed watching those Thiago, Tito, and Rashad fights with Loyoto?

All it's going to take is a patient gameplan where you can make Machida come after you. All 3 of those guys tried to gingerly make it a technical match, and you can't do that.

You either have to go super aggressive, but smart, or make him come to you.

Has anyone ever thought, maybe fight him like he fights you?

BTW- War Shogun, the new UFC LHW champion...

WELCOME TO THE SHOGUN ERA

This would be Dana's worst nightmare scenario to see somebody fight Machida like he fights.

It would just be two guys standing there for 25 minutes and backing off everytime the other gets close.

Although Machida has been way more attack minded in his recent fights.

anybody else think that big ben rothwell is a dangerous opponent for velasquez?.......

Interesting fight
I see a bit of support for Rothwell on the net
I was actually thinking of using Cain in a parlay
Kongo is a much better striker than Big Ben
But maybe Rothwell can hang on the ground better than Kongo?
Cain took some mean shots in that last one....I was thinking he might be better this time out....but not super confident...

Yoshi to beat Johnson at +260.
Yoshi might sub him IF he can get it to the ground.

Shogun to beat Machida at +410.
Shogun should not be this big an Underdog against anyone.
I think Machida is about to be tested for the first time!!!

I will be betting Small for a while and I advise everyone to bet opposite me.
I had a profit run for more than 12 weeks but have lost in the last 2 weeks.
After the Dirrell rip off, I believe the gambling God's are going to be shitting on me after smiling on me for so long!!!

Good luck Boys!!! :toast: :toast: :toast:

Not only is he dangerous, IMO, he's better. Velasquez is a poor mans Lesnar, but Lesnar is a better wrestler and better strike(LMFAO).

Velasquez has only proven to me 2 things...

#1- He can't take a punch...any legit fighter would've finished Velasquez
#2- He can't punch...how the fuck do you not finish Kongo?

"the bunker"
interesting lines at 5 dimes.....

Ben Rothwell +243
9:00PM 1002 Cain Velasquez -285

Sat 10/24 1003 Rothwell/Velasquez goes 3 round distance +170
9:00PM 1004 Fight won't go 3 round distance --230

o.k...does anyone think that velasquez k.o.`s rothwell?..i guess it`s possible....he`s 3 inches shorter......not loving velasquez` chances of g& p`ing a guy this experienced after seeing that pitiful g&p vs kongo.....and he`s sure no submission artist...and you know rothwell wants to shine...this is his first shot at the big time....the ufc....

my guess is that if you take rothwell at +243.....and take "goes the 3 round distance" at +170,you have the likely scenarios covered......(velasquez win by u.d.)....

rothwell`s been in with some solid guys....stopped 4 times in 36 fights and one was a sub....one was in the 3rd vs arlovski..and that`s the only k.o. stoppage rothwell`s suffered since 2003...and he`s only 28 years old...

my guess is that now that velasquez is moving up in competiton,it`s gonna be tougher to g&p guys with that pitty pat stuff(and i like velasquez)......just not sure that stopping rothwell will be very easy...and given how much velasquez enjoys trading, look out.......that would be very foolish in this fight...

just throwin` stuff against the wall....

"People run up and say Shogun we love you....you are the best.....when are you fighting next.....October?...great.....who are you fighting?.....Machida?.....Lyoto Machida?....oh no....."

Odds moving down on Machida fight, if it moves a lot and I can get a middle I will try it.

I think Okami is the best best of this UFC but with 5 units on Shogun I'm not risking anymore on this UFC.

Great blogs! You can say what you want about Dana but I think he's great for the UFC. He may not always be great in the future for them but for what they need now he's perfect. I don't know if the head guys for other sports would ever get that kind of treatment from the fans. I love the NBA and wouldn't mind meeting Stern but it wouldn't be that big of a deal to me. MMA fans love to meet Dana. You can tell he truely loves the sport and I respect that about him.
