Anyone think Struve might be able to grab a limb on Gormley?
I don't know much about Chase, but I thought the odds would be even.

Money has been coming in on Gormley though.

Well, I think my wife is getting sick of this UFC already. I've been punching, kicking and sub'ing everyone everywhere. LOL, I can't wait to see Shogun fight Machida. Yes I think there's a good chance he loses but he's my favorite so it gets me pumped to see him fight. Saying that, the line is still way out of wack. I would never put 5 units on this big of a dog but in this case I think the ROI is worth it and that's all I care about.

Come on BUCS! If we could only have the stomps in the UFC. GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLL :00hour

Just got a feeling that Shogun gives us his best performance against Machida to date. No way i could lay those odds. If Machida runs right thru Shogun then maybe. Heck i do it all the time with Silva. Or against Sapp :mj07:

In my Opinion

In my Opinion

I agree with your comments reagrding the price of Machida (he is not worth that price, strictly because it is MMA and anything can happen). That being said, I honestly believe Machida will win in the third or maybe fourth round. Shogun just doesnt have the stamina or ability to follow a game plan, he will get submitted or TKO in the third. The same reason we all enjoy watching him fight will be his demise. Not trying to get in an argument, but I just dont think Rua is the best value on this card.

May I suggest an alternative? Eric Red Schaffer has a great possibility of beating Bader. At +300 or better Red is by far the best value on this card. I just see Bader taking schaffer down then getting submitted.

Good luck everyone with your plays, hope this card is satisfying because its been awhile

Coach, why do you think stamina is an issue with Shogun?

I just think he hasnt been tested since coming to UFC. He is two fights removed from facing Coleman and he gassed, forrest he gassed and old chucks chin didnt last long enough to tell. It is just my opinion but I dont think he is ready to chase Machida around the octagon. Tito has a gas tank larger than most and he ended up getting frustrated with Machida and looked a little gassed.

I would just stay away from that fight maybe play machida in a parlay with Red or something to better the odds, but overall no value in this fight.

Hope you win tomorrow with which ever you choose.

machida has developed an anderson silva-esque invincibility aura and the books realize it...that`s why he`s better than a 4-1 fave.....

that`s an amazing line vs a guy like huha......

huha is the type of fighter that if he gets it going his way...if that snowball starts rolling downhill,he`s tough to shake.....back when he was on his game,he started fast against jackson...and jackson was never even remotely in the fight.....not sure that jackson even landed anything of significance in that fight...it was a blow-out.....

he blew a lot of guys out in pride...but,that`s where the stamina issue comes into play.....he was so aggressive, that his offense was his defense...

you`d think because he`s a bit loosey-goosey with his technique, that huha would be easy pickins....but if huha can get off fast and do a little damage early, who knows?....

has anybody ever seen machida in a really difficult fight?....

has it all maybe come a little too easy for him?.....

if i were huha,i`d attempt a takedown or two....see what machida`s like off his back.....huha has a nice g&p game.....

all that said,i think machida`s too sharp....but not at 4-1.......

and i decided against a rothwell play(as of this minute)....

Coach, I thought that's maybe why you talked about his gas tank. You have to cut him a little slack based on two blown out knees. Watch some of his Pride fights. If anything I would consider him to have a very good gas tank. He would go full out in Pride and since those 1st rounds lasted 10 minutes I always thought it was very impressive.

I'm not saying Shogun is a lock because I think Machida is an awesome fighter and very worthy. I just think Shogun has great shot at winning and for him to be that big of a dog makes it even more tempting. If this fight happens before he f's his knee up, he's probably the favorite. He didn't just win in Pride, he was detroying people. He's still very young which I think helps in his recovery from knee surgery.

I think the biggest thing in this fight is going to be in the clinch and who proves to be stronger.

Even if I lose I won't mind as long as it's a great fight. It seems like it's been forever since we've had a big fight live up to the hype.

Just my opinion but if I was Cain I would drop down to LHW. He only weighs 238, there are other LHWs out there that weight that or more before they start their final trim down and cut.

I can't think of any dominant wrestlers in the LHW division and IMO he could really shake things up.

DAMNNNN I'm pumped.

Champ Lyoto Machida (202.5) vs. Mauricio "Shogun" Rua (204.5)

someone over at bloodelbow commented that Machida must be drinking that "diet piss"

I was wondering about Machida coming in that light. Does he even have to cut? If so, why would he cut 2.5 extra lbs. That's a lot if it's just for the hell of it.

Where the hell is Bucs? I know he's going thru a hard time but come on man, this is Chute fighter.

Wee, I felt bad for you when I saw the weigh in. That's bs and too much of a difference IMO for it to be a fair fight.

A Shogun win could go a long way for me. I need something positive in my life.
