Nick Diaz would lose to Fitch, Alves, and Kos........and well you get the idea.

Nick Diaz isn't even top 10.....

Doesn't even deserve to be mentioned in same paragraph as GSP.

Fitch would maul Diaz.

Fuck even Hardy would beat Diaz.

No joke, GSP would beat Diaz on one leg. Give Diaz a machine gun and he might beat GSP.....might.

Nick Diaz is not only an asshole but big time over-rated. Had a good win in his last fight, but he has fought bums. And for fucks sake he lost to KJ Noons:142smilie

Nick Diaz is top 5 for biggest over-rated fighters in MMA. Guy is good (12 or 13 in the world) but so massively over-rated it isn't even funny. He'll run his mouth and fight guys outside the top 10. 1 good win in last 1.5 years......pathetic competition:mj12:

Just because you dickhead brother says your #1 doesn't make it so:142smilie

Nick Diaz is a fraud...trust me on that. Gotta fight guys in top 10 before you run your mouth.

Diaz beating GSP....now that's funny shit.:moon:

Paul Daley should be next. The same type of fighter as Alves and Hardy. Good hands that can't stop a takedown. Another five round decision :142smilie

Nick Diaz last 8 fights:

Win Marius Zaromskis
Win Scott Smith
Win Frank Shamrock
Win Thomas Denny
Win Muhsin Corbbrey
Win Katsuya Inoue
Loss Karl James Noons
Win Mike Aina

As you can see....Diaz is a fraud. Some real tough fights:mj07:

Even Fedor has fought better competition:142smilie

6/5 wins the award for dumbest post for March:D

And for those that think GSP lies on ya like Guida or Antonio McKee obviously don't watch MMA much. Just ask Hardy.

Frank Shamrock, nice. What is he now, like 67? What's ol' Tank Abbott up to these days? How about Dan Severn? Kimo? Now THOSE guys had some fights.

As for the fight last night, I don't think anybody is saying GSP didn't fight a good fight. And personally, I wouldn't say he just "laid" on Hardy. He did a great job of taking Hardy down at will, improving his position once he got him down, and also trying to submit him.

But come on Kick, you know as well as I do that if every MMA fight was like that NOBODY would watch this sport. I'm not saying every fight has to be two guys standing up trading blows the entire fight, but last night's match wasn't much different than watching Greco-Roman wrestling, IMO. There's a reason that sport doesn't have a huge following.

I'm not saying I blame GSP for fighting his fight. He knew from the very beginning that he could beat Hardy with takedowns and wrestling, so that's what he did. He's a smart fighter. But for most fans, that's not a real exciting fight. Hell, I actually started watching Shawshank during the fight I was so bored. Sadly, Brooks still dies. :sadwave:

Like I said last night, I don't follow MMA as closely as most of you guys so maybe I just don't appreciate the technical aspects of fights as much as I should. Just my take...

Good post. I would stop watching MMA if significantly more fights went the GSP route. It is terribly predictable and boring.

Clay Guida keeps getting beat up in this thread, but I think he is 10x more fun to watch than GSP. Didn't he get fight of the year last year? Didn't he just submit his last opponent?

All this GSP talk and I forgot how hard I laughed when Brock called the belt Carwin had on a "fake belt".

That is funny coming from a guy who was the WWE Champion. :142smilie

I take back what I said earlier....gmroz now gets the award for dumbest post of the month:mj07:

And let us remember....you can fight shit competition like Fedor and Nick Diaz and dominate your opponents.

Or you can fight top competition and dominate. GSP fights the best and toys with em.

I think GSP would have some fun with Frank Shamrock Thomas Denny and Muhsin Corbbrey :142smilie

How quickly we forget that GSP made Penn quit, nothing more dominating then having a guy quit between rounds.

GSP toys with guys he fights.....just like Anderson does. Difference is Anderson and GSP fight the best, Fedor and Nick Diaz do not. You can talk all ya want about finishing, but if GSP fought Hong Man Choi and Thomas Denny type competition he'd be finishing. But GSP wants to fight the best.

The goal is to win, and GSp does that. And as I said earlier 99 outta 100 guys tap in first round with that GSP sub attempt on Hardy. Gotta give props to Hardy there.

GSP fights smart and dominates, it is as simple as that.

And as Sponge says, if somebody stops his take-downs then it would be different. Why in the love of fuck would GSP change a winning strategy. Maybe if he fights Daley he'll do a flip like Hazelett did and then stand with him:142smilie

I will say it again, if you think GSP just laid on him then you don't know MMA, you just do not.

Of course some on here think Nick Diaz is #1 so what does that tell you:shrug:

Fight a bunch of bums and say you are #1, yeah that makes sense:shrug:

Kick the problem with ur argument is that GSP himself say's he is disappointed with his performance and wanted to finish Hardy. His press conference backs what these guys are saying to the tee. U want Fedor to chase Brock and Santos but u don't want GSP to risk losing by standing and fighting

I was going to mention Guida in my last post but I had already written a novel so I figured I would just shut my cakehole. But yeah, completely agree with you about Guida. I LOVE watching Guida fights.

Yes, there are times when he takes a guy down and just lays on him, but that doesn't constitute the whole fight. I think every Guida fight I've ever seen has had a good amount of trading punches, and I'll be damned if that Geico caveman doesn't get bloodied up in every one of them. I still say the Sanchez/Guida fight was one of the best UFC fights I've ever seen. It's up there with Bonnar/Griffin for me.

Why do you keep bringing up Fedor??

HE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH GSP.

He is willing to fight plenty of the best. He was willing to fight Barnett. He fought a top 10 area guy in Rogers. He beat not 1 but 2 UFC HW champs a year from their removal of being a champ.
Werdum is no stud but quite frankly neither was Hardy. Hardy has 1 big win(Swick) and that win is looking pretty lame right now.

He is in line for fighting Overeem soon.

Does anyone blame Carwin for not fighting Brock yet? No
So why blame Fedor for not fighting Barnett?

Dana wants no part of a cross promotion in fear of his guy getting beat. Dana's sale pitch is UFC is best and doesn't want to tarnish that.

Here is a fact, the best HW and LHW might not even be in the UFC.

I've only seen a handful of Guida fights, so it's possible I got lucky and saw some of his more exciting fights. But yes, the Guida fights I've seen have absolutely been entertaining.

I'm not talking about talent here, I'm talking about entertainment. Of course I'm not trying to say Guida is a better fighter. And personally, I never said that all GSP fights are boring. I was simply saying I thought last night's GSP fight was boring. To be honest, I haven't seen all of GSP's fights so I don't know if last night's match was typical or atypical.

Guida may not be a great fighter, but the fights of his that I've seen have been entertaining fights. And at the end of the day, that's why I watch MMA, to be entertained. I would much, much, much rather watch an exciting fight between two no-named fighters than a boring fight between two elite fighters. But that's just my preference, I'm sure many people would disagree.

Why doesn't GSP move up to middleweight? Obviously, the welterweight division is one of the weakest in the UFC. I would like to see what he could do against W. Silva...

Clay Guida :bed:

Somebody in the UFC must have agreed to bump him down to a prelim card fighter again.

I get bored just talking about Guida. The most excited I got about seeing Guida on a card was his last fight because I knew it was not going to be aired. :142smilie

I love you Kick but I agree with Kegray here.

For you to say Hardy is a top fighter and Nick Diaz is not is horseshit.
GSP would win but Diaz would give him a much tougher fight than Hardy.
GSP has fought some of the best fighters in Penn, Fitch and Alves but Hardy does not belong in the same sentence with those guys.

I wish you would stop bringing up Fedor as he will be beat some time soon I believe.
He has had a long career, cuts easy and does not seem anywhere near as motivated as 5 years ago so I will be sad when this happens.
Then the Fuckheads will come out of the woodwork to talk about how he was shit all along.
I still say he dummies the Heavyweight champs in one round.

OH, and GSP has already fought Thomas Denny and is on record as saying it was his toughest fight by a mile :scared :mj07: .

Guys knock Clay,GSP, and Machida but all these guys have been in exciting fights as well as boring ones. Fitch's fights all suck.

My favorite part of the night was when Rogan was counting in real time when they were showing the Palahres heel hook in slow motion :mj07:
