I said it before and will say it again.

KIMBO IS A LOG.

It is not hard to kick a log. Why didn't Mitrione kick Jones like that so often. Jones is not even that mobile and he was able to check a kick or two.

Remember Mitrione was a huge dog to Jones so I am not the only one who thinks this guy is average at best.
Can he grow and develop? Sure, but he better do it fast because beating Kimbo just got his name out there and now is the time.
And he is nowhere near ready.

Do u turn on ur friends the way u turned on Kimbo :mj07: :mj07:

.

i know i didn't think that big stiff should be that big of a favorite. Heck on the show one guy threw a punch at him and i think it hurt his feelings instead of his jaw.

I have known Kimbo is a log all along. I was in the group that was quick to jump all over Seth when Shamrock dropped out vs Kimbo.

I just thought in this case that Mitrione showed he was pathetic enough to lose to Kimbo and if Kimbo had any kind of ground game then he would have pounded out or submitted Meathead in the first 3 minutes.

u think he is done with the sport or will the legend grow on?

As long as someone is willing to pay him then he will be willing to fight.
He has put in so much time and training so he will more than likely fight again.
Maybe Dream if not Strikeforce or something else in the states.

i`m still shaking my head at the "kimbo abused meathead" comment,ke...

not everybody that gets put on their back gets pounded out or submitted in 3 minutes...he was in bad positions..but took basically no punishment....and he fought through that adversity....

he didn`t clip slice on the chin with a lucky shot like petruzelli...this was no fluke...

.he methodically broke him down......what he did on his back was actually pretty decent.....

mitrione`s g&p sucked...i`m the first to admit it...that`s one of the things the guy needs to work on(along with tightening up his submissions and working on his cardio)...his stand-up,kicks and guard defense were pretty damned good for a neophyte...

even the "elite" younger guys like velasquez have holes in their game(g&p)....

give the guy a little credit...lord..

I went back and watched Rua again after I read what he had to say about his strategy and what he saw from the first fight. I have to think he was very confident going in. What he said he saw and what actually happened were spot on.

Still feeling great about my fav fighter being the champ and the way he did it. :mj06:

i think you are misunderstanding what I mean by abuse. Kimbo was able to pick him up and slam him and take him down with SERIOUS EASE. The only thing Kimbo has less of than cardio is ground game or skill. Any decent guy would have gotten a better mount(Jones did) and any decent fighter would have inflicted damage.KIMBO DID NOT, but that is because of his skill(See Alexander fight) and not because of Mitrione ability to stop it.

Kimbo did no abuse damage wise, but he abused Mitrione by putting him in a position to do something.
Mitrione got lucky that Kimbo doesn't have any of the skills needed to finish a guy.
