chris lytle and nathan diaz?...and a slew of non-wrestlers that would likely end up on their backs for 9 minutes...

and the second list you posted listed sotiropoulos(who the hell has HE beaten).....and kenflo,who was literally trounced by sanchez....

You are crazy if you think the current day Sanchez could be Nick Diaz or Kenflo. Those wins were 5 years ago and he has not beaten a top tier guy since.
Those two guys have beaten top tier guys.
Diego is not the fighter he used to be. Dana is kind of making that statement himself putting on as the first fight of a PPV.
Diego without steroids is a average fighter as he is proving right now.

And I can promise you Sotiropoulos would be favored over Sanchez if they fight. And he would beat him. George looked awesome vs Joe Daddy.
Dieog beat Joe Daddy but he was not that impressive in it.

And I forgot Gomi who I would take over Diego as well.

I think Diego's main problem is lack of direction and guidance. Since he left Jackson he has not been the same. He seems stuck between 155 and 170 - the Pride division of 160 would have been ideal for him. I would like to see him drop back to 155 and get his training back to what it was prior to leaving. If he does this remains to be seem - did'nt he leave Jackson's to be closer to his kid?

i`ll give you one thing...sanchez really doesn`t have a weight class...that really hurts him...he`s a tweener...

and anything can happen inside the cage...but florian just doesn`t have the same resume....

to just declare him "better' is fantasy...

Kenflo is a different fighter than he was 5 years ago for the better.
Sanchez is different fighter than he was 5 years ago for the worse.

Sanchez had the intimadating factor. it is all gone now. That is why Penn beg him to come to the middle of the ring to challenge him. Penn knew his hands were ten times better then
Diegos. Penn almost beat him in ten seconds. The mystic is over. I don't think Florians hands are great but boy his footwork and hands look dynamite against Gomi. Ten times better than his last fights.

kenflo`s still a skinny guy with little power...better wrestlers that out-size him give him a fit....it was...and i believe,still is...

believe me,he`ll be on his bike vs maynard...

i like florian..but his skinny frame limits him vs certain guys...like when sanchez rag-dolled him...and sherk...and penn....

Kind of a pointless argument unless Florian moves up or Diego moves back down. They aren't going to fight. Florian has definantely gotten better and Sanchez is definantely worse but would Florian beat Sanchez now? His wrestling is improved IMO but theres really no telling. Florian was also more impressive at 155 against common opponents. There's no question that fighting at 155 compromised Sanchez a good bit.
