The worst part about this was when said that is what this sport is all about!

UUUUHHHHH What? The hell it is. This sport is about kicking some guys skull in if that is your skill trade.

If I wanted to see two guys hugging it out then I would flip it over MTV Real World.

I couldn't believe that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is the fight game man...I don't bet on who is going to hug the other motherfuker more in 15 minutes.

A few years back, I lost a split decision in boxing. It was The Greek Mike Arnoutis vs. Ricardo Torres on Showtime. I backed the Greek at plus odds. The greek comes out and blasts Torres down to the canvas, and Torres is hurt. He gets up at like 7 or 8, the Greek walks across the ring, smiles, touches gloves with him, and backs off !

I COULDN'T FUKING BELIEVE IT !
Fight ends, go to cards, split for Torres

These are the things that stick in my brain.

All the signs were there. You guys were right about the press conference stuff from Barry. The guy is not all there, and that's not a fighter to back with cash. NO NO NO

u see how some of these guys throw punches? Heck even Fedor doesn't know how to throw one. I bet one out of ten guys know how to throw a punch in MMA.

Well that's what I was wondering -- if it was fighters who don't know how to throw a punch, or if it was the small gloves. Or maybe a combination of both?

I'm a very casual MMA fan, I really don't watch all that often, and after Barry breaking his hand I think that's at least the 6th or 7th time I've heard a boxer say they broke their hand throwing a punch. Ridiculous.

I guess I'm in the minority, but I wasn't at all surprised by the "hug it out bitch" during the fight. I've seen it numerous times before, and it seems to happen a lot when the fighters respect each other. I think Cerrone is the king of "in-fight hugs."

"the bunker"
The kid himself even said he lost  let the kid suck up this loss because it is only gonna be good for him. You and ur possee keeps telling a 20 year old he was robbed cause u have those googles Kegray pointed out, will only hurt the kid.

my guess is the kid won`t know what he said or what happened until after his head clears from the obvious concussion...

like it or not,scoring-wise(and that`s how these decisions are decided..i know that shocks some),it goes another 7 seconds and the best condit can hope for is a split draw....he was fighting in canada....you have to figure that factor in when you make a bet...take it from someone who learned the hard way..

some folks need to learn how to look at the scoring based on the actual scoring...not your wagers...

sheesh,,,

Kickserv needs to have a sitdown with Dana about poor stoppages.

With MacDonald absorbing shot after shot from opponent Carlos Condit, referee Kevin Dornan made the unpopular decision of stopping the fight with just seven seconds left in a contest the Canadian youngster seemed assured of no less than a draw result.

At the evening's post-event press conference, UFC president Dana White said the timing of the ending was unfortunate, but he backed the referee's decision completely.

"I'm the first one to blast a referee or a judge for making bad calls," White told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com). "In my opinion, the referees aren't looking at the time. They could give a [expletive] what time it is or how much time is left. They're there to protect the fighters.

"Rory's a young guy. He's got a lot of fights ahead of him, and he took a lot of damage in that last round. I didn't have any problem with the stoppage. It's unfortunate when a fight stops with seconds left. It's one of those things, but you won't hear me bitching about that one."

In some ways, the stoppage might have been a blessing of sorts for the UFC. The promotion faced a few challenges from local authorities when it came to their concerns regarding the safety of mixed martial arts. Dornan's disregard for the amount of time remaining on the clock or the score at the time of his decision showed a true commitment to fighter safety.

White said he believes the referee ruled properly, but he said he doesn't see the action as some sort of example for Vancouver city officials to study.

"I honestly don't ever think about that," White said. "I don't think, 'Oh, no. We're here, or we're there.' I don't care where we are or how comfortable people are with the sport. I want refs to always make the right call and the right decision.

"Even sometimes when I get aggravated with [a stoppage], the [referees] are the closest guys in there. I actually prefer that over fights being stopped too late. I'd rather see it stopped early than late."

of course...this is the best outcome for the ufc...condit gains new life and macdonald is only 20....this doesn`t hurt his career nearly as much as it would condit`s....dana doesn`t give a shit about the fighters...this keeps 2 guys viable in the division instead of one...

that kid took nearly 3 minutes of punishment...anybody with a brain would question the stoppage with 7 seconds left....

they probably should have stopped it a full minute earlier...but not after the 10 second tap....for 7 seconds they threw 2.3 rounds of that kid`s hard work down a rathole...

about the poorest reffed ufc in recent memory...

It is most likely a combination of a lot of things but i think the way some throw punches breaks them the most. Guys throw perfect punches in boxing and break their hands but these guys like Fedor throw his fist like they are a sledgehammer. No wonder he always has a broken hand.
