you`re waiting for the christian wellisch/carwin rematch?......

what exactly is it about competitive toss-up fights involving contenders(and a couple young phenoms) and a golden oldie(that`s actually much more interesting than tito/chuck III) thrown in that you don`t like,spongy?....i think this card is loaded with competitive fights...

for me,this looks pretty damned good...116 looks pretty pedestrian...truthfully,lesnar/carwin leaves me cold....it`s a glorified tough-man contest....

these guys are mixed martial artists?..lol

Well one point u make that is dead on is that i didn't want to see Chuck and Tito again. Im just saying u guys keep saying how great a card this is when the two top fights are a joke to be called the two top fights. Where is the Shogun/Machida fight? the Penn against anyone fight? Gsp? Silva? The list of top names goes on and on but none are to be found on this card. I guess im still suffering from withdrawl from UFC 113. Now that was a great card. I guess i should just be happy cause any of these MMA cards are better than having a huge boxing night with one main event and a bunch of stiff fights. I am interested in seeing how Yvel comesback. I might go back to that well one more time.

Barry on Cro Cop

Barry on Cro Cop

"Ten years ago when I was wathcing K-1, before I even started, there were five guys on a list of guys I never want to fight. Mike Tyson, Sagat from Streetfighter, Lord Shredder from Ninja Turtles, Ernesto Hoost and Mirko Croop."

"He is still the same CroCop he always was. This dude is a legend in the sport and will never be forgotten for all time. I am going to challenge myself against him. Its crazy."

"I am totally confident in my ability in my heart in my physical skill and training regimen. I am a true believer that the only person that can beat me is me."

"I would definitely bet on me if I had to make a wager on Pat Barry vs. Mirko CroCop," he added. "Absolutely, its not getting out of round one."

Odds swinging largely in the Barry fight, Cro Cop is going down and people are catching on. This is like betting against Kimbo, make money while you still can. Barry now -170ish

you know,we can disagree on what constitutes a solid mma card....but i seriously doubt that anyone who follows the ufc gives two shits in a barrel about a 3rd non-competitive tito-chuck mismatch....

i don`t blame chuck for being upset...now he actually has to train and fight someone who actually has an outside chance of beating him....

chuck wanted a freebie...thankfully for the fans, didn`t work out that way...

I'm not sure why but Kampmann is one of my favorite fighters to watch. I think it's because he can take some bombs. Sometimes I think because of his chin he takes too many hits and doesn't worry about avoiding them.

I think he has a very legit chance at winning. I think he'll dominate with his wrestling and his sub d should be good enough to avoid any. Very solid play at +190 right now.

right now i`m rolling with barry (medium)...didn`t realize the guy was so athletic(see the promo show..the guy`s an ex-gymnast)....like his speed and cardio...he`s used to guys kicking him(from his extensive kickboxing background).....as much a wager against an aging crocop as a wager on barry...but barry`s capable......

like layin`,always liked kampmann...kampmann (small/medium at +165/+195))..at those odds, the return is very nice if martin doesn`t start as slowly as he usually does..the dude is TOO calm...his losses were early in both ufc losses....he gets caught cold......but once he settles in,he`s a tough hombre on his feet and on the ground...

i think kampmann`s frame works against him(not sure about his physical strength)... still, those are hefty odds(+195) to give a guy of kampmann`s caliber...and imo,the jury`s still out a bit on thiago...yeah,he caught koscheck...but he only has 2 k.o.`s...and swick isn`t looking quite as formidable as did was awhile back...

actually had daley vs kampmann(gut hunch)...giving kampmann another chance here...think he`s a live dog.....i think it could be a decent style match-up for him...i don`t see thiago as a physical powerhouse along the lines of marquardt and daley...

macdonald (small/medium)...just like the kid`s athleticism...condit is a well rounded guy...tough as nails...but he can be subbed...and macdonald has some serious wrestling chops and subs from the video i`ve watched...condit is a bit wispy and gets put on his back regularly......and imo,his wec wins weren`t vs top tier guys...more like solid journeymen..

condit could slap a sub on the inexperienced kid...he`s so young(20)...i am curious how macdonald will react when condit doesn`t fold(like most of rory`s other opponents)...that and the sick experience gap are worrisome...

took dunham at +205(small)...maybe griffin ragdoll`s him..but he`ll have to earn it...dunham is dangerous for 3 rounds on his feet or on the ground..he`ll be dangerous late...

took liddell at +125(small)... ...gueessing franklin will have to beat liddell on his feet...chuck doesn`t get taken down..and once there,he`s up immediately.....

want to use rothwell with something...not sure yet..

i`m having a really good year(after last year`s disaster)...i`m due to get dumped..and all these fights are toss-ups....

because this is an extremely well matched, competitve card, we could take a beating...

so wth.... we`ll roll the dice with some mid-level wagers on some of the doggies and small faves...

Record since start of 09 34-22 +38.16 units

Opinions 3-4 +1.30(always .5 unit plays)

Liddell +120 5units :scared

Max play for me on Liddell. I actually think this fight will go a lot differently from what others do. I think Chuck will take Rich down quite a few times to score the points he needs to win. I was going to wait to play this but I think the line is going to move once people see Chuck at the weigh ins. Chuck focused is something we haven't seen in a long time. I'm not sure where Rich has any advantages. Chuck has had some bad KOs lately but so has Rich.

What sucks is that I really like Rich as a fighter and wouldn't mind seeing him win but a good bet is a good bet.

I'll be on Kampmann as well just not sure how much. I want to see those two side by side so I can see if there is a noticeable size difference.

Adding

Kampmann +195 2units

I would like this to be a 4 unit play but since I already have 5 out there on Chuck I just can't risk it. I really think Kampmann wins this. Kos was outstriking Thiago up until the KO(which I still think was a bs KO, how do you not let Kos fight out of that when the guy doesn't even get on top of him). Kampmann will outstrike Thiago and I think he will also get several takedowns.

I really like this fight, ugh if I grow some balls I'll throw more down on it. It's been a long time since I've liked two fights on one card like this. I'm too scared to give back profits.

Press conference just ended, Barry was like a kid in the candy store. I don't know why he is so surprised by the attention he is getting, I guess so much so fast. Regardless he better put on his gameface because Mirko is not joking around in the same manner. I don't have much doubt that he can flip the switch mentally, just wish he would do the google eyes after he wins.

Cro cop said he will give him an autograph and hopefully two. Barry mentioned that if he wins he will stare out the window for two years, Cro Cop's response, if I win he will stare out the window for many more years with a nurse by his side. If I heard that from my "idol" he would no longer be my idol and I would want to KO him.

Hmm, I'm starting to think Barry may go down.

I actually don't care who wins the fight, I just hope for once in a long time now that Mirko fights. He needs atleast 6 or 7 LHKs.

Usually i can zero in on one fight annd make my money if i don't push it on others. I can't find a clear winner here so i may just close my eyes like Kick and just pick dogs :SIB . I hear all this talk about Kapmans ground game and how deadly it is and never saw him go to the ground once:shrug:
Wait i did see him once against a guy who had no ground game. Seen about six or seven of his fights and most times he just gets knocked out. I can't bet him. Second I was all set to go with Yvel until i realized i mixed up Rothwell with Paul Buenelllo(sp) again. Do this everytime thwse guys fight. To me that is a toss up Rothwell is a solid fighter. Conduit against the next GSP i have to lean Conduit here just because of experience. Not enuf to bet tho. Barry Crocop. Im still not sold on Cro Cop being washed up just yet. Was talk that he has been injured all this time and is finally healthy and taken this serious again. Even now has his own cage at home which to me means he is serious. Barry is tough tho. Again i got to pass. Rich and Chuck who the hell knows. I can never bet Lidell again with the china chin. When it is two tough guys my policy is to go with the better chin and i think Franklins is the better chin, but not by much. This card to me is a terrible card to try and make money off of. I wouldn't be surprised if any guy wins in the top five fights. So my post is basically worthless :mj07: Gonna research the Danzig fight. I just don't think this kid has the heart to be in MMA. Seems like he just wants to quit all the time. I don't know much about Wiman but once heard Weepaul say he sucks. I got to see it with my own eyes.

.

good to hear another p.o.v.... you have something the board could use in handicapping this, layin?...

not sure how to read barry`s idol worsghip schtick...is the guy really starstruck?....just happy to be here?.....he claimed to be in awe of his ex- teammate hardonk, but he seemed to do o.k. in that situation....

the guy is more than a tad strange....it is worrisome...i ain`t gonna lie...

GW, I got nothing I tell ya! LOL

After watching the press conference I went from liking Barry to worrying about him. Against Hardonk he was confident because he had sparred with Hardonk for years and was also angry with him because of Hoost and how things were handled. But with Mirko he really seems like a little kid who's in front of his idol for the first time and doesn't know what to say. I don't like that at all. Mirko is thinking is going to kick Barry's head off and talking about it and Barry is sitting there giggling like a little girl. More than likely Barry will win but if Mirko can summon up one strong LHK I have a feeling Barry's balls go deep inside and he cries like a baby. He won't be getting my money.
