If Randy decides to trade early and is unable to finish him in the first then there are some tasty odds on Randy in rounds 2 and 3.
Randy to win in round 1 is -185. :scared
That is pretty steep.

After seeing the weigh-in.........here are the odds of Toney winning:

-kickserv having a 8 way with Anna Torv, Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Alba, Avril Lavigne, Elisha Cuthbert, Evangeline Lilly, and Jennifer Love Hewitt

-kegray not using a torrent.

-weepaul becoming an MMA judge.

-GW not posting in the political forum.

-sixfive becoming a vegetarian.

-gmroz22 becoming a priest.

-Ghost Kid NOT using this smiley:mj07:

-The Sponge thinking every sporting event is NOT fixed

-Nick Diaz winning Nobel Peace Prize

Never said the ufc was rigged but someday the same guys wh ocontrol these refs and certain athletes will eventually get to it. Just like they have boxing and their terrible decisions under control. Why u think they won't let Dana have his own judges? No matter how loud Dana screams he can't have his own judges. don't matter anyway because if he did the gambling gods eventually would get to them anyway

Two plays for me on this card.

Winner over Lentz. The fight direction needed for both is simply. Winner to keep it standing and Lentz to get it to the ground. I think Winner ability to defend the takedown is better than Lentz's ability to defend the strikes.

BJ/Edgar to go the distance. Edgar is not stopping Penn and nobody has stopped Edgar. Certainly Penn has the power and submission skills to do so but I am going for the decision win.

Thoughts on the rest of the card
Toney vs. Couture in terms of matchmaking is a mismatch. In terms of promotion though it is a great fight. It has people talking and while some may not order the event they will want to know the result. In terms of PPV buys this is the fight that will count for most of them. I think Couture handles a badly out of shape Toney, who at 237 is way off his fighting shape.

Florian vs Maynard for the number 1 contender spot. Maynard is the bigger and stronger fighter but KenFlo has seen action at WW and MW. The key to this fight is how Maynard approaches it. Does he think takedown and try to control the fight from the top. Doing so against a submission expert like KenFlo is asking for trouble. Does he keep the fight standing where again KenFlo has the advantage? KenFlo's movement and cage control is excellent but Maynard does have one shot knockout power.

Maia vs. Miranda. Big fight for both in the MW division. Maia wants another title shot and he would be wise to keep his new found love of striking at home. I do think he gets the fight to the ground and locks on the submission.

Davis vs Diaz. After his spell on TUF Davis improved so much he is was a new fighter. Learning and understanding the ground game saw him add years to his fighting career. But I think his run is coming to an end. Diaz is younger, has akward to deal with striking and the better ground game fighter.

Like Osipczak to win and I think Joe Lauzon has little trouble with Gabe

Never noticed it before, but Frankie Edgar looks like the kid from A Bronx Tale (who is now in the clink for burglary). KenFlo is still doing his best Gaylord Focker impersonation. If they ever do a movie about KenFlo, Stiller automatically plays him. I'm sure he's an expert when it comes to MMA, right? :SIB

I guess I'm diametrically opposed to Kegray on this one because I'm looking forward to the Couture fight the most. There is nothing I like more than watching a shit talker have his opponent put a beating on him. I agree with the others that Randy will probably sub him at some point, but I hope he bloodies him up a bit before he does that.

I know the Penn fight is supposed to be the "big" fight but I'm not even really looking forward to it because I don't think there's much chance he loses. I'd love to be wrong about that, though.

Dana thanks you. :toast:

Wow no respect for Edgar. I think he has done more than enough to earn some. Already beat Penn along with other tough guys and has never been finished.

Maynard didn't seem to have much trouble with Diaz JU Jitz. I think Diaz Jits is better than Kenny's. Then again Daiz doesn't have Kenny's elbows.

I think at this stage KenFlo is more dangerous than Diaz. Diaz has the longer legs which help but KenFlo is the better tactician

Well, Dana can buy and sell me about 7,000 times, so I'm sure he's not too concerned with what I think. :142smilie But yeah, you're right, I'm a sucker for being interested in that fight. I don't mind the sideshow aspect of MMA; I think it makes for good entertainment.

I'm not trying to dis Edgar. I think he's a good fighter and I respect what he did last time, I just don't think BJ is losing this fight. His execution was piss-poor in the first fight and I think he'll learn from his mistakes this go-round. As good as Edgar is, I think Penn is the better fighter and he'll have revenge going for him tonight, as well as a shot to regain his belt. I'd like to see Edgar win, but I don't think it happens.

Having said all that, I still think the odds on Penn are inflated. But maybe that's just Vegas trying to get people on Edgar?

It's not that I am not interested, but would rather see quality mma fights.
And next time DREAM sends Canseco to the ring or Strikeforce sends out Herschel Walker then I don't want to see Dana quotes about how gimmicky they are.
I have not heard Coker bash UFC for Toney but I sure as hell heard Dana when they signed Walker and we heard him last week when Lashley lost.
At least those guys are training and trying.
Toney is doing neither. He is cashing in only.

Dana is more predictable than Kickserv wanting Anna Torv.

No, I agree with you. Technically speaking, fights are always better when both guys have a clue what they're doing in the octagon. I'm just really looking forward to the Toney trainwreck since he's been running his mouth so long. :142smilie
